    Do you need liability insurance when cleaning customer cars ? Imagine a car owner having an electrical problem after underbody cleaning with dry ice !?!? ALSO do you recommend the maintenance program offered by ColdJet? Thank you!!

      We have a garage keeper's policy and suggest anyone performing this work have one also. This process is certainly not without risk! The highest level of successes follow failures. True here also.
      I do not have a recommendation on the service plan. The company and machine have both been very reliable for me. Not without issues, but mostly from the fact that I've been using it since May 2019. Early glitches were addressed by Cold Jet immediately. Been smooth for a while now.

      @@ScottAles I was curious what psi and particle size did you use to clean the belly pan ?

    • @ScottAles
      @ScottAles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SpeedDemon651 I used a small particle size, .5mm. Pressure was 75 psi.

    Good morning, thanks for the great video my question what compressor do you recommend?
    I noticed these particular machines require high CFM
    requirements.
    Thank you so much

    Which compressor do you use? I was told a diesel compressor 185cfm was the recommended compressor for the PCS 60

    • @ScottAles
      @ScottAles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, this is often suggested and is rarely proper for the automotive application. If you are pursuing a mobile service or use, then yes. You're basically stuck using the diesel sucking 185.
      If you're setting up in a permanent location, then 40hp screw compressor with a desiccant dryer.

    Scott, How do you keep surface rust from attacking your clean cold parts? I can only imagine the parts are cold immediately after cleaning and the humidity would attack the cold surface.

    • @ScottAles
      @ScottAles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it is a project like this truck where we stripped the bare metal, we immediately dry the surface with air only, then a light wipe down with Ospho. Wipe again till dry, then paint the next day with Matte clear.

    First and foremost thank you Scott for I sharing the results of your hard work along with information, this is incredible technology especially when applied to automotive restoration/cleaning. Super excited that you’re putting more videos out 👍🏼👍🏼

    Scott, great video. I have recently gotten interested in dry ice cleaning at work where we are going to be using Cold Jet's SS60 model for large fin fan cooler cleaning. But while researching I have found the automotive application very interesting as I also own a small shop that does a bit of everything. So the question is: What is the best equipment? What is the initial investment to get started?

    • @ScottAles
      @ScottAles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, the video is a bit lame but a wise man taught me that perfection is the enemy of good. So I felt I might as well get started even though the entertainment level is low.
      I seriously am the only person in the world currently with the experience and knowledge of using this machine for this purpose. Many others have seen our cars offered on BringATrailer and social media platforms then decided to jump in. Which is great! But we have over 70 cars under our belt AND we'll educate everyone. Others as you can imagine are not too thrilled to create competition. I'm sure as time goes on, my work will be surpassed in speed or efficiency. But I don't think our work could be at a higher level.

      If you have just a few weeks of patience, I'll be loading a ton more videos to bring you and the audience up to speed. There is quite a bit of information to present...
      Tomorrow, I'm presenting how we clean the top sides of a 2005 Porsche Turbo S that was very neglected. You won't want to miss that! And yes, there will be videos with the machine doing the work.
      Please consider subscribing to not miss any content.

    Hello Scott, nice video. My project is moving on here in France. Glad to see that you want to share your knowledge.👍
    Now my question is, how do you know how many hours its going to take you to drice clean a car and figure out how many pounds of dry ice you're going to need ? Thank you and take care, François
