Born in Germany, Dieter dreamed of flying in the sky since he was a child. When he grew up, he immigrated to the United States with his family and joined the army to become a real pilot. Dieter then joined the Navy to fight in Vietnam. On his way to carry out his mission, Dieter's plane was unfortunately shot down by the Vietnamese army's ground fire. He escaped death, but was eventually captured and tortured by the enemy. Dieter was taken to a prisoner of war camp in Laos, where he was accompanied by several fellow American troops. The enemy guards treated them inhumanely, and Dieter was determined to escape before he could sit down, but his companions around him, Gene and Duane, did not think so, and they did not have much confidence. After some persuasion, Dieter carefully planned to escape from prison when the rainy season comes. Well he would have been double the height of the vietnamese there are like 90cm so he would get out of the line with his 180cm...😂😂😂 nah for real I didnt get this part either! Ain't nothing important about his height!
But he probably didn't stand up because he had a AK in the face and they are yelling at him to stay down and he didn't want to be seen as rude or not affraid to die!(because he sure was affraid to die) Because if you stand tall and have pride on your face they will make that pride disappear in a second!!🤯 So complying with them is the best way to stay alive for a bit... My husband of 46 years now fought in the Vietnam war. He was 18 years old at the time. He never spoke about the war hardly at all,… just bits here and there. When we first married,.. he still had nightmares about being in the war and would scream out in his sleep,.. wake up sweating. This went on for a few years then settled down finally. He was recently diagnosed with stage 4 non small cell pulmonary adenoid carcinoma just 8 weeks ago and now is already on Hospice at our home. He began having those same nightmares again while in the stage of actively dying. He is a good man and was/is a proud Marine. Any war is a terrible thing and it leaves many scars in one’s soul having to go through it all. I have much respect for all soldiers of war,.. both dead or alive. Maybe one day this whole world will realize that it’s much better to get along with one another so all can have peace without any wars,..one can always hope. God Bless All In This World.❤

After six months of imprisonment and torture, and 23 days on the run, he became only the second captured US airman to escape during the war. I don't know what war movies you have seen about the Vietnam War, but I know one thing for sure that the Vietnamese people and soldiers fought for Vietnamese national independence and the main thing is that they did not investigate. brutally attacked and massacred prisoners of war like in this movie. You can learn more from former American soldiers who participated in the invasion of Vietnam. Remember that all the massacres of people originated mostly from America and America's allied countries that participated in the Vietnam War. The most typical example is the Son My in Quang Ngai
You're right tho, did you hear about the youtube channel named "Dong Mau Viet"? He probably said that American soldiers who got captured by Vietnamese doesn't die like that way, they got taken to a prison named "Hoa lo" *i don't remember was it the right name lmao* even they didn't get tortured like this video, they got Vietnamese help with foods that are even more delicous than normal Vietnamese person, the Vietnamese also treated them well and after the war Vietnamese send them back to their home and their life returned normal again. The worst was seeing Jane fonda handing your notes for home to vietcon
At Silver Springs State Park at least ten years ago, a Vietnam Vet with no legs was sitting in his wheelchair and told me how he had lost his legs.He was in a camp where Jane Fonda came to pay tribute to the Viet Cong....As you said our brave soldiers slipped pieces of paper into Fonda's hand when she shook the POW's hands...and she handed all the slips of paper to the Viet Cong....instead of taking those slips of paper back to the USA....and the Viet Cong tortured and murdered those men because of Jane Fonda the TRAITOR
Apparently you're too young to know Vietnam wasn't declared a war..It was a conflict, the French colonists enslaved that country for three hundred years and then the Americans came to win hearts and minds.. millions died.yeah..blame Jane Fonda.
Vietcon? Is that a cosplay event for veterans?
Viet Cong my spell checker was created by hoe Byden
@@deborahlacour1938 why were Americans there in the first place then left in 1975 after spending $100 billion for military hardware? Communism in Vietnam did NOT expand to neighboring countries as feared and spread around.
Vietnam has the fastest growing economy in south east Asia and top exporter of rice and coffee in the world. They manufacture their own cars and export to US. Uncle Ho's dream fulfilled.
If the G.I.s were not sent to Vietnam no soldiers could had been killed, captured and tortured .
President JFK meets with Khrushchev in Vienna. Protesting North Vietnam's attacks and invasion on Laos and points out that the U.S. was supporting the neutrality of Laos. Soviets agreed with JFK to pursue a policy of creating a neutral Laos, but Khrushchev had other plan.

Alfred’s reaction : oh dear … are you sure you want to go through this to become the batman sir ?
And Bruce Wayne replied : As a man in flesh and Blood I can be corrupted, I can be destroyed but as a symbol..... As a symbol I can be everlasting.
That's Patrick Bateman not Christian Bale
If it was that bad, you shouldn't have gone in there in the first place.
Then "Alfred" came and saved him, in the Batmobile.
he didnt dare to stand up straight, a second later bro got his head in the clouds
That war , well wars are sick . That war was horrific
I'm Canadian, but met a couple guys tears later who were in it. One of their friends broke his own leg to not be drafted. He was the smart one. Smart move Dave. Met you at Indy 500 in late 70s. You and your family came to my house in Holland Landing. I don't live there anymore. Hope you and yours are good ! Miss you!... Susan
Becoming deaf is one of the worse punishment of all time, with becoming blind

Damn, Christian Bale looks damn good for his age.
