    I see these Cobras are listed as being 1/8 scale. From what I can see they appear to share the same components as the vrx rh1016 and vrx rh1017 or the ftx vantage which are all 1/10 scale. What am I missing?

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep 100% your right. They are not a 1/8, they are in between you could say. Just a bit bigger than 1/10. But with all the parts yeah they are all the same including my FTX carnage. I don’t know why they said 1/8. 👍🏼🚗. Thanks for stopping by!.

    • @angesrcs

      Yes the diffs are sealed. But the center one leaks a lot more. If you can make a really thin seal, go for it. 👍🏼🚗

    Hey mate cheers for stopping by my channel before, good work on the mods, crazy how much those rear and front swing arms are, holy shit at the prices. I've only had the truggy for a little while, haven't given it a proper decent bash or jumps as yet, was only a quick drive test, but plan to soon. Are the upgrade to alloy swing arms worth it? Do the plastic ones break easy? Also the stick motor seems like a low kV one, can't find specs online what kV it is but I plan to play around with other motors. Happy new year mate and cheers for sharing, good to see another Aussie RC channel I can tune into...subbed ya bud! Dave from Perth 👊😎🍻

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Dave, thanks for the sub!.👍. yeah those swing arms are not cheap. the rear ones, not bad at $55, but i cant see whats the difference is with the front ones being $90. What the!!!. so i ordered the front swing arms off ali express, they were only $19 with shipping and arrived in 3 weeks. there were identical (only difference was colour texture). I decided to go for metal because going over jumps and landing on the front end i had a few twisted swing arms. Also with the motor, the stock one is only a 2000kv motor, i upgraded mine to a 2600kv and put in a 15 tooth MOD1 pinion. and also upgraded the ESC to a 120amp. have a play around with different motors. also go on sauls channel called 'RC CRAZY'. he knows his stuff. he's got 3 cobras with mods. Happy New Year to you also mate. cheers.👊🏽 🚗 🍻

    Maybe try taking the pin out of that drive shaft and inserting a longer pin with heat. Another thing you could try would be pinching the cup together a little bit? That might help.

    I still deciding buy this VXR Cobra or the JLB Cheetah. What you thinking is the best opitions? In bangood JLB are more spare parts. The VXR has plenty spare parts and upgrades?

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My personal choice I wouldn’t buy a VRX Cobra again. I would probably go with the JLB.
      With the Cobra the differentials leak quite a bit and it is very frustrating because it makes a mess and some of the components are very weak so that’s why there are a lot of modifications done to mine to keep it running.

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I know, the front chassis, i believe should be all one piece. Invest in a front bumper, it will save you $$. I think you paid way too much for repairs. The front plate is only about $15. And the diff housing is about the same🤔🤔🤔

    It’s great I’ve finally found someone who upgrades these cars. I got one for Christmas and always seem to be fixing them. My biggest issue at the moment is the centre diff keeps breaking. Doesn’t chew the gears but gets a lot of play between the cups on either side. Watched your vid on the diffs, def gona try the oil rather then the std diff. Still using the plastic gear, next upgrade I think. Mind you I have gone stupid with the power upgrade using a 150a esc and running 6s at the moment. Maybe just too much for this car. A lot of fun tho 😂

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the center diff can be a pain. Def try the thicker oil. It does help. And wow, your running 6s😲😲😲. Would like to see a video on this running 6s

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it has cost me a couple of dollars more than what I purchased it for. but that was my own choice to do that you can run these stock if you like , they still run great , but I chose to upgrade mine with some metal gear , bigger motor, bigger pinion , bigger steering servo and some little fine tuning. For what I’ve spent on it now I’d rather get another car I’m not gonna spend any more money on this car unless I do some real serious damage but it’s been running great so far so good.

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey buddy I know it’s disappointing when that happens. the best thing to do is make them out of 5 mm strong aluminium 6061 preferably. I got mine custom-made by a friend of mine.

    Hi Ange just subbed your channel as recommended from RC crazy , good to see fellow aussies on the channel and understand eachother , for shaft issue drill out the pin and press in a suitable ROLL PIN you can buy them all sizes from and bearing supplies stores , they are hardened steel and should last a lot longer than the t bone set up. lm trolling all vids on these cobra's as they seem good value for my first 1/10 scale, l have a wltoys 144001 and by the time l do upgrades on it its almost the price for a cobra , and we all know bigger is better. l can buy from Sydney for $349 RH 818 free shipping , Do you know of anywhere else that may be cheaper , but getting it from interstate is far better than from bloody China..good video also thanks ( Pete from Melbourne )

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Pete, thanks for the sub, and also the advice👍🏼. I thinks that’s a great idea with the roll pin. At least that way you can have the pin a bit longer so it won’t drive into the cup!. They are a good car. The diffs are very weak. I’ve gone thru 4 already. They leak a lot as they don’t have gaskets. Expecislky the center diff makes a huge mess. I decided on mine to make a center locked solid diff . And I have also decided to keep it running on 3s. When I ran on 4s, I kept on stripping gears in the diffs. It was my first rc car, so I do still want to keep in running. 👍🏼🚗. I bought mine from campbeltown hobbies for around $380 nearly 2 years ago. There are cheaper places, but I don’t know…

      @@angesrcs thanks for the reply , l would love to get the XMaxx but the wife would kill me so looks like the Cobra for 2nd choice , l can always upgrade it in future, as for gaskets try Black Gasket Silastic from any auto shops , about 8 bucks a tube Dow Corning or 3m brand , the cheaper types dry too hard , l will just wait till tomorrow for all the 11/11 sales see whats offered : )

      Hey mate, thanks . The shock towers are custom made by a friend of mine made out of 6061 alluminium. So they are super strong. 💪🏼.
