    I absolutely love the visuals. The additional effort to provide details in this way that could easily just be given verbally, is extremely appreciated.
    It really elevates the experience as a viewer.

      I appreciate that. I also se people watching TH-cam videos with no sound on, very often on the train… so there is that too. Trying to add more comparison specs in this format the give more detail to help with decisions as well.

      @@SagasuRunning all your videos are extremely detailed, but very nice addition to the format.
      Until you just said it though, I hadn’t consciously recognised the fact I also watch videos without or with very low volume on occasions. Great spot!!

    Can’t deny my love for the Mach 6! Its really surprised me, just got over 100 miles in it and it’s performing so well 🎉 thanks for the mention 👊

    I’ve been using the Speed 3 as my race shoe for the past year, and I picked up their Speed 4 replacements this past weekend - I’ll be running in them a few times in the next month before taking out for a marathon in May. I also got some Mach 6s a few weeks ago, which I’ve been doing some running in. At this point, I’m planning on doing my next 5k in the Mach 6.
    The Speed 3 doesn’t feel fast to me, but when I put them on and go I get a happy surprise when my watch calls out the kilometre splits. It’s like whatever pace I feel like I’m setting, I’m actually going 10 to 15 seconds faster. I’m hoping that the Speed 4 feels the same. With the Hokas, I feel like I’m getting exactly the pace I expect from the effort, but the effort is easier. I also find the Hokas feel a little better for hill climbing, likely due to their lighter weight.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The Speed 4s are a little firmer than the 3s and should provide an even better platform for racing for you. The Speedroll in them is what the magic is. There what surprises you with pace.
      The Mach 6 likely feels better in hills due to the stiffer midsole and the toe rocker helping keep you up on your toes.

    An informative review, as always, thanks. I have enjoyed Mach 3 through 5 (350 miles in the 5), with no issues. With Mach 6 (82 miles), I have developed a painful pinch on top of right foot, near my ankle. Had to put them aside in this current marathon training block.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I can see how the ankle pinch could happen. The collar is high and the padding is low. Bummer for sure.

    No contest, Speed 4 and Speed series in general wins all day. I have ran in Rincon 1 & 2 and the EVA midsole bottoms out really quickly. HOKA are so 5 years behind their daily training shoe IMO. Saying that, I would like to try the CX1.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Agree. Not sure Hoka is that far behind but their main shoes are very dated compared to most other brands. Some of the new models are out there but still Hoka.

    Very interesting comparison. I was given the Mach 6 and I agree that it's a fun shoe with a great roll through but best for about 6-7 miles. It's a little snug but tolerable for me and I do find that if I'm running 12+ miles, it just doesn't feel like enough under foot. I am thinking about the Speed 4 later in the year.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ya… 6-7miles is about the max I would do in them as well. That is what I’d expect from Hokas anyway. That was always my thinking with them years ago. Though with the Mach 6 I do notice thr “fun is gone” by around 8 miles and the shoe looses all life.

    If the Speed 4 is comparable to the Mach 6 and the Mach 6 is at all similar to the Mach 4 (which I used) then the Speed 4 is more different from what I thought it was than I thought.

    I though Adidas, Nike, Li-Ning and Xtep get their foams from shincell?
    Edid: I'm dumb, its from shincell, but the raw materials are from arkema. Also in the newest product sheet Asics and Anta is also a customer.

    Another good review, thanks. I've been enjoying my Mach 5s for shorter runs, Z2-tempo, but as the Triumph 21 was too tight in the toe-box due to the snug upper I think the Mach 6 will be a no-go for me.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ya… the Mach 6’s fit is very odd. It’s good once your foot stretches the upper a bit, very racey, but will catch a lot of people off guard. Especially those coming from the Mach 5 upper.

    • @st4331
      @st4331 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SagasuRunning Saw it on sale for £86, so bought the wide fit option. Plenty of room in the toebox, but the upper across the top of the foot does lack a little volume. Speed 3 arrived today as well. Also a very nice fit and took it for a run, including some sprint intervals. I love it; it was like wearing slippers, yet my pace was 15s/km faster for the same effort during warm-up, and it was fine for the sprints. Much better than my Speed 2's which are not nearly as versatile, or as comfortable. Hope I like the Mach 6's as much.

    • @st4331
      @st4331 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've now done 50km+ in both shoes. Although I have the ES3, not the ES4, your comments are still true as a comparison. However, as I have the wide-fit Hokas, the Mach 6 have more room than the ES3s (which are roomier than the ES4 apparently), and I'm finding the Hokas great for easy and long runs up to 20km (the furthest I've taken them). If I'm planning to do any kind of speed work I do prefer the ES3, though the Hokas do this fine as well. Nice to be able to swap between them and give them rest days.

    Can you feel that Mach 6 could be more stable, especially in the arches where there is a lot rubber covered in there ? This reminded me of my Puma Velocity Nitro 3 that for me, I feel that my arches don't collapse there. But mynleft anke ( where I overpronate) colapses a little, but much less them the Velocity Nitro 2 where the middlesole was too soft and it had also less rubber bellow the arches to gi e more strength to the tim Eva coverage in thate area .
    I would like to try this Mach 6 .... I did not buy the NB Rebel 4 because I thought that it would be too wobbly, like my 1080 v13.
    It is not easy to get lightweight running shoes that are also very stable ... came to my mind the Adios li e( not the Pro) that is awesome every edition since v4 .
    Thanks.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hokas often can be stable due to their width, especially in the midfoot. There is a lot of foam in that part of the shoe and the straight last helps with that.
      You’ll be MUCH better off in the Mach 6 over the Rebel v4 if you want stability.

      They have a wide version. I picked it up in a 2E. The upper fits perfect!

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m aware… but as far as I’m concerned one should have to buy a wide (2E) shoe to get a proper fit with a normal foot. That is completely unacceptable.
      Now if you have a wide foot then all is good. It’s good they offer that option.
      Hoka needs to fix the lasts they use though.

    Hoka Rincon 3 was my favo shoes to run before i had the Saucony Kinvara 14. This review makes me hesistate i should give Mach 6 a try. Peba midsole is increasing my curiousity always. I never have running on a PEBA shoes so far. Both are at the very similar price point in my country. Hoka a little tad expensive as usual due to the fashionated design.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Neither the Kinvara 14 or the Mach 6 are PEBA midsoles. If you liked the Rincon 3 and it worked for you foot.. the Mach 6 may work for you as well. It has a super critical EVA midsole foam that is quite nice, but not PEBA.

      @@SagasuRunning I am planning to have a pair for 20km to 25km. I am also liking HOKA shoehouse with higher knitting quality compared to others brand here. But the Endorphine Speed 4’s responsive from plated is useful. I had the Puma Nitro Deviate 2 with plated. Just midsole quick-dying before 600km. Now deviate 2 does hurts my legs even at Pace 530 for my comfort pace. I would take it as a retired shoes or walking shoes now.
