    This is my everyday driver in Victoria BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada. I put 220000 miles (yes the zeros are correct) on motorcycles by the time I was 43 years old. This is a practical vehicle in this climate and the S550 sits in the garage more often than not. I commute with this beast every day, except when it’s raining. I take it on longer excursions (2000 miles or more) during the Summer. Love it. Compared to motorcycle travel it is luxurious for an ole timer.😀

    We have a Slingshot and we love it. This one, however, looks like someone pulled the 'skin' off leaving only the bone (where it is white). Kinda creepy looking. Would be great for Halloween. Regardless, the Slingshot is a hell of a lot of fun. Don't let this paint job scare you away.

      @@DaCake2 They have heat in the summer and AC in the winter. 😅 Jk. No, they do not have air. But even in the middle of summer we've never really found it uncomfortable. We find our stereo to be more than adequate, and see no reason to upgrade it.

      @@Whammo77 Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. How about the noise volume at high speeds on the highway. Some have complained that it’s really loud and ear plugs are a must. Trying to get all the facts I can and you never know what to believe online anymore.

    • @Whammo77
      @Whammo77 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DaCake2 Honestly, we don't get on the highway without helmets. Any kind of debris, or even a bird, at that speed can have bad consequences. A lady we met got hit in the head by a bird on the highway while on their slingshot and she had to go to the hospital and get stitches. 😲 We use HJC full face helmets, so there is some wind noise but not terribly noticeable with the helmets.

    • @DaCake2

      @@Whammo77 Oh wow. I didn’t even consider something like that happening. So in other words, the slingshot is best if you want a cruiser to take a lower speeds around town. Probably not great for a daily driver, correct? I was interested in getting it and driving it every day in the summer, but the more and more I learn, the more and more I see it might not be the best bet for that

      I thought so too. But I ran to the next town to test drive a used one and I was impressed. I wasn't impressed with that used one in itself, but I guess I was thinking it was going to be a flimsy vehicle.
      The seats look extremely uncomfortable and they absolutely were not. It was like sitting in a glove. Anything I moved was pretty sturdy.
      I was not happy with the plexiglass windshield.
      The glovebox and backseat storage was heftier than I had imagined.
      I would say that if you have the pocket change to spare for this vehicle without sacrifice... It's a fun toy.

    I'd LOVE to check out one of those vehicles. Through the years I've owned a 1964 MGB roadster with knock off wire wheels. I had FUN with that car. I later got a 1974 fiat Xl/9 (first model year). It had a 1300cc single overhead cam 4 banger, 4 speed manual transmission (4 gear was a slight overdrive), 4 wheel disc brakes, targa top and ridiculously skinny tires (145-SR-13s, can't buy them that skinny anymore). I later put 205 VR-60-13s which made it drive like a OVERSIZED GO-KART, It would STEAL YOUR BREATH AWAY. It was extremely FUN to drive. A lot like the POLARIS SLINGSHOT.😉👍😁😂

    To be honest, I just test drive the slingshot and its quite boring to drive. I took the strongest one and event with that, its still lacking power wise. The control is clunky at best and everything just feel cheap. The look is the only thing that this thing has going for it. Its also really huge, like a real car😂

    • @Kysuq-
      @Kysuq- หลายเดือนก่อน

      The interior has to be waterproofed so the best they can do is tough plastic. This is probably the best a waterproof interior can get. On the other hand, the power-to-weight ratio on the Slingshot is very good even on the base model. If you want a little extra power, get the SLR model. The tires already break loose easily with the base model, so good luck putting the power down.
