    I like Sainz' comment best:
    “I’ve never been a fan of being concerned of one team dominating because if they’ve done such a good job, they deserve it. I mean I wish it was us, and then I would get really angry people telling us that we’re walking over Formula 1. Unfortunately, this is a cars sport more than the drivers, we know that makes more of a difference. Red Bull has a very strong line-up and what we know is that if a car is really good, all the other drivers cannot do much to stay in the fight. It is the nature of Formula 1 and we’ve seen it in the past, it is nothing new.”

      I think a lot of people (mostly newcomers to the sport) forget that aswell

    • @KuK137
      @KuK137 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yup. If we had fights in 2014-2021, it was because Vettel and Max were vastly better drivers than really overrated Merc ones and could beat them in far worse cars (and in Vettel's case, also clown team who did everything to lose on strategy). Reminder that Rosberg was the only driver to ever by obliterated by Webber, yes, that Webber who was destroyed by Vettel in all years in F1 together, even when Vettel was in Toro Rosso and Webber in Red Bull...

    • @NandoFIT-df8ly
      @NandoFIT-df8ly ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@KuK137 Explain why Ricciardo, an overrated driver who got kicked out of the sport this year, obliterated Vettel in 2014, and also beat Max in 2016-17. Leclerc obliterated Vettel in 2019-20 in the same "clown team".

    • @thatrustyone1943
      @thatrustyone1943 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@NandoFIT-df8ly very easy actually. Vettel and Riciardo are drivers who can drive insanely well if a car is set up in a certain way. This is common, like we see with Hamilton. The "best of all time" was beaten by his new teammate, and this all had to do with Lewis not being able to adjust quickly to a new car. Ferrari had a difficult car when Vettel was having a tough time with it, Leclerc too but he adjusted faster. Daniel was great in RB, needed some time to get used to the slightly different Renault, but couldn't get used to the McLaren. It's because the car philosophy didn't suit his driving style. Verstappen destroyed his recent teammates regularly, mostly because the car was setup for his driving style, which not many others prefer. Not to discredit any driver that wins over their teammate, but the car has to suit the driver in order for the driver to perform to their fullest potential.

    It's almost ridiculous how the RB19 can have so much downforce and top speed without letting it seem like there's a compromise between either. I'm a Merc fan but I have to give Newey and his team their flowers.

    • @launchsquid
      @launchsquid ปีที่แล้ว +99

      It's not super common but it's also not that weird, there have been many times that the best F1 car of that year has that very quality.
      Ross Brawn talked about one of his old Ferrari's being so good they would deliberately run a downforce setting low enough to make sure they were quicker in a straight line than their rivals at the time, whilst carrying enough downforce that they remained the fastest in the slow corners.
      He said it was all possible simply because they had the best downforce/drag ratio at the time.
      Basically they didn't try to run their car at it's optimum setting, they just made sure they were fastest in the speed trap and fastest in the slowest corner and had a balance the drivers liked, with that the car was always too quick and the drivers were always comfortable pushing it.
      As a counterpoint, I've heard David Coulthard talk about his Adrian Newey designed McLaren's from 1998/1999 and he talked about how they weren't his favorite F1 cars despite them being some of the best he ever had in his career (relative to the field) because to get the best from them their setups required "too much understeer" and he just didn't like that balance in his car.
      If he dialed it out, he have up too much performance.
      If Redbull have so much performance in their car, they might just be doing what Ross said Ferrari did, focusing on giving Max and Checo a balance they like as long as they have the top speed trap and fastest slow corner speeds.

      @@launchsquid think the video highlights something more … the RB is not a trade off or ratio between slow and fast corners but they can get the best of both worlds by bleeding drag at speed (by stalling the rear beam and diffuser plus clever wing aero) but retaining downforce at lower speeds. Now he knows how everyone else felt....championships come ten a penny when your car is in a class of its own...

    Hamilton's tears make his car heavier, therefore slower.

      That explains why Alonso was so much slower than Hamilton when they were driving the same car in 2007.

      @@Euclides287 its funny that you say that because Alonso beat him in races and they equalled on points
      Its also even funnier when Alonso rinsed him 3 years after in an inferior car

      @@bigmemer4398 It's funny you say that because Hamilton beat Alonso in 2007 and went on to win more races and championships. Fernando never recovered from that beating and never won a championship again. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    "I've never seen a car so fast.".....the nineteen drivers passed by the Ham Sandwich at Interlagos in 2021...........while Sir Whines a lot races by in a car that won 8 constructors titles on the trot.

    Good old Newey, the man’s a genius, used to love watching him in the garage when I worked listening to the drivers comments, then he’d write down these aeronautical equations on his pad, smile & call the factory, next thing the 3D printer in the garage would fire into life & build whatever, a lot cheeper than carbon, bolt it on the car, if it worked the facts would build it in carbon & fly it out!
    Amazing times.

    The Red Bulls in this ground effect era just look fast. It’s purely coincidental but often in history the fastest cars have looked the sleekest and smoothest too.
    Newey is renowned for his aerodynamic genius so it’s no surprise really. As much as I don’t like Red Bull from an ethical standpoint they make a bloody fantastic racecar from time to time.

    Its the fact that this new RB is still not as fast as the most dominant merc cars of the last 6 seasons compared to the rest of the field. So in reality, ham has seen a car that fast (actually faster) its just that he was in it and Bot wasnt fast enough to breeze past him
