- And so, here comes the next hero the Audi Legends series. I really wanna show you the historic Audis that paved the way for the cars we see today. This one is really special. We’re going back 30 years in time my friends. 30 years! I present to you the car was the first real Audi A8. Here is the Audi V8. It came with two V8 engines. With a smaller 3.6L and the bigger 4.2L. This one hear is one amazing example of how well you can maintain a car if you got big love for it. If you every wondered why the first generation A8 was named D2, it’s because this basically counts as the first generation A8 right here. When the owner contacted me if I wanted to feature his car on the Audi Legend series, I had to only look 1 second what car it was, and my answer was Hell yeah! directly. I’m a huge fan of this generation, and it just looks so gangsta. Do you remember this beauty? Such a gorgeous machine isn’t it. They don’t make them like this anymore!

I was 19 or so, just got my driving license a few months back then, my friend picked me up with this car. I took it on the Autobahn for a relaxed ride. When I looked at the speedometer I was going 240. Gave me the shock of my life. The car was so smooth and quiet.
I think since then I’m in love with Audi.
Awesome story. The 1996 Audi A4 B5 had the same effect on me. My friends dad picked us up from the athletics practice in a brand new black A4 B5. Since that day, I'm hooked.

@@Auditography currently driving an all black B5 A4. Full bolt ons w/24psi tune. All original.
VIN indicates its 1 of 2 in its current optioned spec. Sports package, seats, black paint, black interior (onyx package) and more. Nearly 300,000 miles on it. Love the damn thing.
@@Auditography I have B5 1.8 T 1996 it cost around 2000 euros in Serbia :-D really good car i installed aftermarket headlights witth angel eyes it makes look much younger no one believes me its 1996 everyone thinks its around 2003-2004 ofc i'm talking about non car's people :D
@Me.White Oh man i know what you mean. I got my license a year ago and bought myself an a6 b5 and it is just great. It was very cheap but has such a comfort and i really love to drive it also at high speeds ( sadly maxed out at 245 km/h). It is 22 years old now, but has less Problems than some cars do have which are half as old. I totally love audi for this first-car-experience and do not want to change to any other brand. (except for a second car, maybe a wrx sti or miata^^)

Agreed!!!! It should be a sin to take any beautiful car to be crushed! I would simply by it back and restore it as I have with so many other vehicles! Crushing any Sports car Muscle car and even some trucks or Vans should be blasphemy to the Automobile Industry!

That just looks so badass. From front to back. I love old audis, i am audi guy. My first was audi coupe 2.3 quattro 170hp one. And then after that i have had audi 200 2.2 turbo quattro with about 300hp and few winter audis (100,80 and one a4). Now i have imola gleb audi s4 b5 avant with 420hp and it is my new baby, my crush :)
and you don'd miss the 5 zyl? sry but i nerver heard before, that so. changes to v6 from a r5 and found the v6 better.... but if you don't tell sh**, i hope you have a lot of fun with your s4 and you can drive it for years...
@@thecoon8149 The S4 B5 has a sweet Turbo small displacement v6 that loves to rev. Of course r5 sound is amazing but that v6 sounds super sweet.

I remember the V8 with affection. I test drove it back in 1989, but bought the 200 Quattro instead (also a great car). I love the interiors with the analog dials, leather and wood interiors, and roof pillars that were slimmer than today's roll-over regulations allow, but which gave an open view of your surroundings. One quirk about the V8 - the steering column is slightly slanted which is a little distracting.

One of the best car ever...
Love this car and the video. I have a1993 V8 Quattro. One of only 175 sold in the US that year. Sleeper stock exterior except for deeper front spoiler, bigger brakes, drilled rotors, hi-flo custom cat back exhaust, chipped ECU for about 310 HP and a few small suspension tweaks for firmer handling. Fast for a 27 yr old big touring car.

Never saw one of these, although I think there's at least one example in my country (Here in Brazil, Ayrton Senna was the main supporter of Audi, he pretty much introduced the brand to the general public in the early 90's and also brought the first cars), but I still remember reading about it in a small book from Portugal, highlighting important cars from the 1980's...it's how I've come to learn about it.

Очень грустно и обидно, что практически забыли серии моделей на базе 80, 100 начальных версий. Вот, в таком же плане хотелось бы в живую на экране, хотя бы, увидеть "AUDI" 80/42 quattro, дв. E5/10 с четырёх камерным карбюратором.

just bought one today. 4.2 quattro with manual transmission...she (yeah i prefere "she" instead of "it") doesnt turn on and there are a loooot of things to do get her back in shape. i know she will kill me and my wallet but i hope it will be worth it. i cant wait to see her 2-3 years when i finish the project🥰 btw the one in the video is awesome
