Ren Merry: Sunrise

I would like to play a piece titled "Sunrise."
I grew up in a beautiful town called Wokha, Nagaland in India, surrounded by lush green mountains, lots of song and the joy of bamboo shoot cooked with pork.
Electricity was rare those days...childhood days...and the town would slumber under darkness at night, but when the sun rose the darkness was replaced by a stunning view of the lush green hills and everything came to light.
Sunrise is a depiction of that transformation from darkness to light. In the spiritual sense, the Nagas were living in darkness as headhunting tribes prior to the coming of the American missionaries in the mid 19th century who brought the glorious saving gospel.
On a personal level, when Christ gloriously saves a sinner, there is a radical shift from darkness to light. In John 8:12 Jesus said, I am the Light of the world, he who follows me shall not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.
This newness is God's incredible gift of compassion. He is the one we love, worship and joyfully proclaim. Hope this is a blessing to you. Do feel free to share as well.
