I swear the crossover just feels right. Ed being an idiot, Numbuh 1 trying to help out Professor, Dexter being a douche (I guess he’s just competitive to the Professor due to being both geniuses), Mandy gave out simple thought. For each characters interaction felt so awesome.
Judging by the art style for Dexter this had to be the Dexter from the later seasons of Dexter's Laboratory. In those later seasons Dexter was noticeably an unlikable tool.

In comparison, dexter is a dedicated scientist that more stringently follows scientific theory/protocol, has created many successful advancements/inventions, but suffers countless setbacks and failures due to his SISTER'S bungling mistakes, and gains no recognition for any of it. A lot of people are mentioning Dexter’s incompetence to keep Deedee out of his lab, but forget she single handedly destroyed Mandark’s lab too. She is an unpredictable entropic force of nature
Well, he's also really bad at engineering and incredibly reckless with his experiments. He's a genius, but like a kid his interest is fickle and he seems to stop caring about his inventions/experiments quickly. There was the one time where he made a sleep learning device that made him unable to say anything but the phrase "omelette du fromage" all in a shallow bid to score because he relied on a vinyl record player for some reason. Then the other time when a common electrician showed him up by rewiring his entire lab. Dexter's knowledge is broad but shallow because he doesn't allow himself to focus, but I'm overanalyzing it. Still that's clearly what the writers were going for. Meanwhile, the one time Utonium fucked up, it resulted in his daughters getting superpowers. Utonium's big weakness is that he's lonely. He's susceptible to seduction to put it bluntly. Chances are he made the PPG so he'd have more purpose in life. It's kinda sad when you think about it.
I love cartoon crossovers. It's just awesome seeing multiple cartoon universes intertwined into one. I just wish I was able to remember CN City. Also, the professor was humming the credits theme at the start. Nice little detail.

This takes me straight back to my childhood, waking up every Saturday morning to watch cartoons (even earlier to catch the end of Adult Swim and whatever anime they had on at the time). OMG, this commercial was so much funnier than I remembered! Professor Utonium accidentally locking himself out of his own car, Ed dishonestly eating the professor’s groceries, him asking for Numbuh One’s help in getting his locked car door open, Dexter roasting the professor, Mandy revealing to him that his car door was actually unlocked, and Numbuh One coming back with planks of wood to help him all for nothing. This situation was more hysterical than I remembered. This old CN commercial alone is better than anything CN has put out since the last decade. I miss the good old CN.

Let me tell you Johnny. From the CHECKER BOARD era to CN CITY, these were Cartoon Network at it's finest. From classic shows mixed in Cartoon Cartoons & 2003-2008 shows, this was the place for it all. Not to mention the added addition of CN CITY where you & others can live amongst each other sent the nostalgia needle off the handle.
Someone better tell DEX not to be mocking other geneises. As most of us recall, he's the one despite having a security system still has difficulty keeping his older sister out of his laboratory each time out.
To be fair... 1. He's still a kid 2. This Dexter is from the Savino era, where he fell into slight flanderization and became a bigger jerk/butt-monkey. 3. Utonium isn't really the brightest bulb in the chandelier himself. He was scared of Harold Smith melting his head off even though Harold had a hair dryer.

See the good thing about these bumpers is that you can see lots of characters that have nothing to do with the skit. Like at 0:30 you can see Muriel on a scooter. They went out of their way to make this city felt lived in and I'm sad that we'll never see a bumper that is about half as good as these.

The golden age of CN shows like this where City Era was a thing was sure one of the best bumper i have ever seen out there. Such a bummer that current CN shows aren't really good as it used to be, although the early 2010s CNs shows (e.g. Adventure Time, Gumball, Steven Universe, Regular Show, etc) were pretty good when it still had an renaissance era. :( Also happy 30th Anniversary to the Cartoon Network by the way, and thank you for many shows creators for creating several cartoons shows that defined many generation after generations through our childhoods! Let me tell you Johnny. From the CHECKER BOARD era to CN CITY, these were Cartoon Network at it's finest. From classic shows mixed in Cartoon Cartoons & 2003-2008 shows, this was the place for it all. Not to mention the added addition of CN CITY where you & others can live amongst each other sent the nostalgia needle off the handle.

To be fair...
1. He's still a kid
2. This Dexter is from the Savino era, where he fell into slight flanderization and became a bigger jerk/butt-monkey.
3. Utonium isn't really the brightest bulb in the chandelier himself. He was scared of Harold Smith melting his head off even though Harold had a hair dryer.

@@dakotastein9499 it can also be excused by the fact that this is the dark age version of Dexter. He was already kind of big for his boots (ironic since he's small) in the first two seasons but it's accentuated in the last two seasons. He's definitely been flanderized a little.

See the good thing about these bumpers is that you can see lots of characters that have nothing to do with the skit. Like at 0:30 you can see Muriel on a scooter. They went out of their way to make this city felt lived in and I'm sad that we'll never see a bumper that is about half as good as these.

@@carolineayan197 agreed. I hate that version of Dexter (this Dexter is from the Chris Savino era seasons, when Chris Savino took over, he was slightly flanderized into more of an obnoxious jerk).
The golden age of CN shows like this where City Era was a thing was sure one of the best bumper i have ever seen out there. Such a bummer that current CN shows aren't really good as it used to be, although the early 2010s CNs shows (e.g. Adventure Time, Gumball, Steven Universe, Regular Show, etc) were pretty good when it still had an renaissance era. :(
Also happy 30th Anniversary to the Cartoon Network by the way, and thank you for many shows creators for creating several cartoons shows that defined many generation after generations through our childhoods! Best regards from Serbia! 🙇♀
