Ry Cooder and Daniel Lanois had a huge influence on these guys, via Blake Mills. Ariel, Joey, Mason Stoops, Ryan Lerman… Not saying it in a bad way, its awesome, Ry pioneered so much for guitar sound/playing
Of course harmonic trem, of course it is better and warmer. Of course it is the ONLY effect on this world that is not included in Quad Cortex 🤦 Oh how I miss my harmonious monk mk. II, I hope that the time where harm-trem will be available from Neural will come soon. Anyway great sounding rig, you are the best!
Sounds great! Have seen him live a couple of times - two very different shows and both excellent. I was not able to catch which pedal is being used for the rotary sound. Which does he use for that? Thanks!
Mulecaster. They are made in Michigan. They make an S and T style. It is metal and hollow/chambered inside. I dont know all the details, but he also uses heavy gauge set of strings set at 17-64 but tuned down B to B.
Just caught Ariel live in Toronto a couple weeks back. The sound was unbelievable and transcendent. Totally huge soundscape and creative playing…his band was super tight, too!
Cool clip. Little disappointed John what ever his name is was referenced with the envelope filter. Come on man it’s Garcia all day everyday when it comes to envelope filters
Man this dude has such a distinctive and awesome creative style

Envelope filter = Jerry Garcia
Thank you Guitarist Magazine. AP will go down as one of this generations guitar hero's. Down to earth, wise, incredible talent, and original. cheers
Sounds good, is that the OR30? Sorry if I missed this info in the video, I'm just another musician. :D
beautiful playing, cursed headstock

Can you post or get a better view of your pedal board; names, brands, etc;
Ariel Thanks for spending time at AWGE it was great to meet you and you have given me a new thought process for sounds!
Rotary is way cool.
My Dad can move air......but not as nicely as you do.
Southwinds lol
What pedal is that Harmonic Trem?
Keeley Hydra
HUGE fan of the Thermae for “spooky chorus” sounds. Inspiring tones I haven’t tried here though… that subtle envelope, and the Leslie!!
You are grest man...your newest fan...appreciate you sir
Incredible use of fx 👏🏼
8:12 ability / range
7:33 what ends up in the song
What a wonderful player he is. He’s up there with the best!

Glad your still playing the thermae after the disfiguring accident it was in
I really like that leslie effect on h9. I use it with rat clone for rhythm
What type of guitar is that?

What is thing on front of H9 and what is the clock one?
There is a rig rundown episode from about 10 months ago where he talks about it. I’d answer but I haven’t watched the video in a long time lol
Bad camera angle on the pedal board. Disappointing. But Ariel is great and love hearing him talk guitar.
WOW

He’s talking about in a modern context very subtly.

Honestly I'm going to try these ideas, thanks for great inspiration
