Max Payne 3 is amazing... I love that game. Fantastic narration and cinematics throughout! Rockstar perfection ... to me anyway. I have it for PS3 and 360.
Another good episode, creative using your ps3 games to keep it going! I am currently playing through the Narnia Prince Caspian game on 360, you should check it out. It was an early Traveller’s Tales game, and you can definitely feel the Lego game DNA in there! Under the radar title, enjoyable and dirt cheap. I think you could do an episode targeting some of the cheaper movie tie-in titles (even the kid ones) as they can be a fun playthrough and go overlooked ALL the time
Driver San Francisco is the fifth game. You had Driver 1 & 2 on PS1, Driv3r on PS2 and Xbox, followed by Parallel Lines which was in 2006 on PS2 and Xbox and later the Wii.
"The Bureau Xcom Declassified" is one of my Top 10 favorite 360 games, a unique & fantastic 60's look at our Government fighting Aliens. There's excellent DLC for the game as well, which I enjoyed. It's highly under-rated in my opinion & well worth experiencing. "Max Payne 3" is in my Top 3 favorite 360 games, it is loved by many as a masterpiece & a very polished experience & quite challenging.
I'm predominantly xbox 360 but also collect for Ps3, my xbox 360 is modded so I can install the game and never need the physical disc again, I still own the games physically in my collection, I found ps3 discs are so much better in quality as they are blu rays and are harder to damage unlike the xbox 360 dvds which scratch easily and usually are when you buy most. Installing 360 games to test the integrity of the disc is a good idea, as if you buy an expensive game and the disc is broken internally or has a deep scratch if you don't play it immediately you could never know, game might play part way, why am I rambling 😊
Once you install a game on a non-modded 360, it only uses the disc for a security check anyway, so it only needs to read the header. So if it shows the game name on the home screen, it doesn't matter how scratched the rest of the disc is (ended up with two copies of DOA4, one was too scratched up to load, the other was perfect, but once installed the scratched one would still launch it and pass the security check, even though it never got to the title screen when running off disc and would not install itself.)
So i clicked on this for catherine, because I got it at launch on 360 thinking it would be a fun puzzle game. I could easily gloss over the character interactions because you're just playing through a story, but the puzzles fully Bent Me Over. Like, I'm Pretty Good at tetris, intelligent qube, hexic, etc, but something about the mechanics and maneuvers in the puzzle stages of catherine just broke my brain... I think I only got through the 4th or 5th stage and never managed to get any further. I'll skim through the rest, Fallout 3 is the only other one of these I've ever played and it was only by happenstance; I had a friend who was a big playstation fanatic who showed me the game, and I grabbed it on sale/clearance at Circuit City (yeah, jeeze) for 360. WOund up genuinely loving it... can't speak to whatever differences there may be between the two versions besides the 360 having a better controller, and playing it on an Xbox One [X/S/Series] has a high-resolution update. FO3 is just a fun way to escape and get lost in another reality :o
I think fallout 3 is superior on 360.... Like Skyrim the PS3 ports have problems as your save file gets too big. Personally loved fallout 3 and it's safe to say you'll either love it or hate it and maybe somewhere in the middle.
I am the same as you Luke, I started off thinking PS3 and later learning the Xbox360 was as good or better! The games you talked about in this video, I have gotten 8 of them though having most of them for the PS3. Sold my Resonance of Fate though(wish I hadn’t). 😢
The PS3 was definitely more powerful than the 360, but it was a confusing and annoying architecture to develop for. If development teams spent enough time and money on developing their games for the PS3 then the PS3 would have the definitive version of every 3rd party game on console if Gabe Newel and his comments about Valve's porting job of Portal 2 is anything to go off of. But because of that confusing architecture outside of a couple of game the 360 was usually the better console for 3rd party games.
The PS3 became the lead platform by 2010. Games like Dead Space 2, GTA V, for examples were developed for the PS3 first and then ported over to 360 despite them coming out the same time. Facts are facts.
I was hooked on fallout 3 when it first came out on my ps3....my ps3 broke down,so i went and got an xbox 360 the next day just so i can play fallout 3....it was so mich better on the 360...night and day.

Driver, the original game, has some great crash physics. We would shoot for the breakwater at top speed hit it just to see how high up the side of a skyscraper the car would fly up. kinda like the crashbreakers in Burnout 3.
I hear Bayonetta is terrible on PS3. I did manage to platinum Skyrim on PS3 and it was awful/painful grind. I'm rocking the jailbroken PS3 now currently playing Alice. All in all I like 360 and PS3 but I'll give the edge to PS3 but again both are great consoles
Cool video but I'm still kind of wondering *why* you would have rather had these games on 360. Maybe I just missed it but I feel like the rationale for wanting these games on 360 over PS3 was a little obscured on this. Is it just that you prefer the controller?
I prefer the ps3 version of games if it has trophies. If it doesn’t have trophies I’m willing to get it on the 360 Edit: fallout 3 is an exception for me. I play that on my series s. It runs great. I’ve always avoided fallout on ps3 as much as I’d love to platinum it
Nice video. I like my 360, but I love my PS3. Yeah, some games run better on the 360 over the PS3, but with HEN, it is stupid easy to backup your PS3 games and play them without a disc, and then transfer them to your PC if you want, so you can use RPCS3.
Ah yes,Driver 3, or "Driv3r" was an unfortunately rushed release that got suspiciously high review scores, despise tons of bugs. It was one of many moments that eroded trust in the access gaming media in the early 00s.

Another good set of titles and nice simple twist on your content here. Count me on the minority too, as I never got into the Fallout series either. I liked the Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2.5 games, but I completely get why many didn't. DuckTales remastered was a great remaster before it was cool! Resonance of Fate is unique and tough, still need to beat this one. Damnation is the epitome of a great mediocre game!
Not sure why you'd want most of these for 360 instead though. Not every game actually looks better on 360. Catherine for example actually has higher quality anime segments on PS3. It's less compressed than on 360. Fallout 3, yeah I'd go 360 for that. But Metal Gear Solid is DEFINITELY a series that belongs on PlayStation. Of course the best way to play 2 or 3 is on PS2 though. If it's about the 360 versions going up in price, I can only imagine it's because 360 era games tend to be backwards compatible on Series X as long as there's no licensed music or an Xbone version.
Only 2 is preferrable on PS2, it used types of graphic effects that didn't port well to anything else, but the remake of 3 didn't use them and is just better all round than the PS2 version, on 360 or PS3, no fanboying here. As for Catherine, I'll see your blu-ray cut scenes and raise you better frame rates and a better 1080p upscale from 720p, locked frame rates and HDR on Series X in back compat too.
@hybridvigga suppose that's fair but I still have a 720p dlp tv available so I like to see the graphics at their intended resolution. It's a bit more immersive to me than when you can see ultra high def blur.
Lords of Shadow doesn't mess with any continuity. It has it's own that separate from the mainline games. Not that continuity really matters with Castlevania in the first place. The story isn't why people play these games.
Funny with nier. Nier replica is a "remake" with merely different character design. I played and finished drakengard 3 on PS3 (expensive and suffers with framerate at times) I loved it so much I went down the nier rabbit hole. Nier has a slow start but once it gets going it's really good. It's definitely a jrpg so it's an acquired taste. 10/10 tho and I will revisit it later down the road
I have Driver SF digitally on the 360 and for whatever reason its the only game out of all the digital content that Ive bought on that console that refuses to let me redownload it. Its a game I bought wasn't a free monthly game or anything. Lol and now you're telling me its a rare game worth 60 dollars well isn't that just f'n peach. Lol
I think Resonance of Fate has extra content in the PS3 version, and apart from that, Damnation and Ride to Hell, the rest are all Back compat on Series X. None of them were One X enhanced, so no resolution boosts, but Driver is locked 60 on it, Nier has FPS boost to 60 and Castlevania runs locked at 30. Plus the first two Max Payne games DID get One X enhancements like every OG Xbox game did, and both run flawlessly at (nearly, the 4:3 equivalent of) 4K and at 60.

I got EVERY multiplat on 360 that gen, and I remember specifically not getting it on 360 to get the PS3 version one day because of the extra content, but I never actually got around to picking it up at the time.

360 mgs hd collection doesn't have pressure sensitive controls so it's honestly a massive downgrade as far as feel/control goes, several game mechanics are centered on the ps2 controller so some tasks will require like 3 extra button presses on 360 that are as simple as push one button lightly on playstation. holding the button lightly draws your gun and pressing it heavy pulls the trigger, on 360/the modern ports it pressing the button draws your gun and letting go of it shoots[they added in an extra button press to lower your gun without shooting if your trying to take an enemy hostage], as a result automatic weapons like the assault rifle are completely broken cause you can't aim them before you pull the trigger. you can still get it pretty cheap on xbox live but really there's no point to get the 360 version if you already have the ps3 vers. the modern hd collection behaves the same way but has mgs1 instead of peace walker, if you really want an xbox version you should probably just grab that and get peace walker off xboxlive. otherwise: yeah all the bethesda games are worse on ps3, the 360 versions are better but honestly play them on pc the pre-skyrim ui stuff wasn't really designed around controllers. likewise max paynes are better on pc than console, the ps2 games are the worst ports of the franchise and max payne 3 on ps3 is actually a pretty solid port[main caveat with ps3 rockstar games is they'd run at 600p while 360s would run at 720.] honestly though i wouldn't bother double dipping on a game unless it just runs like absolute crap on ps3 [of your list only fallout 3 fits that category.] ps3 games are much more durable, i've had 360 games sitting on my shelf get cracked in the center just cause the default microsoft cases put too much pressure on the disc, ordering online i've had discs show up loose in the case and completely scratched up or also cracked. i've had sealed 360 games show up cracked, i only go for them if i find them in person or it's a guaranteed fact that the ps3 version is worthless [stuff like bayonetta for example].
Unless they are a later re-release with extra content, or Final Fantasy XIII (ONLY the original one because of the higher resolution movies due to Blu-Ray over DVD, the sequels are better on 360 though) EVERY game is better on 360 than PS3. Some games are 60fps on 360 (or trying to get there) while they aim for 30 on PS3, a lot have higher resolution and still get closer to the frame rate targets at the same time The same way EVERY multi-plat game apart from Hot Pursuit 2 is better on X-Box or Gamecube than PS2.

Nier is backwards compatible with FPS boost on Series X.
Plus it's papa Neir instead of brother Nier, so still worth having installed even if you have the remake on Xbox.

otherwise: yeah all the bethesda games are worse on ps3, the 360 versions are better but honestly play them on pc the pre-skyrim ui stuff wasn't really designed around controllers. likewise max paynes are better on pc than console, the ps2 games are the worst ports of the franchise and max payne 3 on ps3 is actually a pretty solid port[main caveat with ps3 rockstar games is they'd run at 600p while 360s would run at 720.]
honestly though i wouldn't bother double dipping on a game unless it just runs like absolute crap on ps3 [of your list only fallout 3 fits that category.] ps3 games are much more durable, i've had 360 games sitting on my shelf get cracked in the center just cause the default microsoft cases put too much pressure on the disc, ordering online i've had discs show up loose in the case and completely scratched up or also cracked. i've had sealed 360 games show up cracked, i only go for them if i find them in person or it's a guaranteed fact that the ps3 version is worthless [stuff like bayonetta for example].

Unless they are a later re-release with extra content, or Final Fantasy XIII (ONLY the original one because of the higher resolution movies due to Blu-Ray over DVD, the sequels are better on 360 though) EVERY game is better on 360 than PS3. Some games are 60fps on 360 (or trying to get there) while they aim for 30 on PS3, a lot have higher resolution and still get closer to the frame rate targets at the same time
The same way EVERY multi-plat game apart from Hot Pursuit 2 is better on X-Box or Gamecube than PS2.

Was waiting for someone to call me out on that. Remember I haven’t played damnation so I made a bad guess. Made the same mistake on xcom too. Oh well. Have been playing since 2 though. Not sure how that invalidates that but it is why I don’t typically cover something that l haven’t played
