6:59 the fight against Big Man is a full reference to the Super Mario Sunshine mission "The Manta Storm" in which Mario fights a Manta Ray shadow called Phantamanta by spraying it with water to break it entirely, even the ink colors Big Man uses are the same.
It’s one of the only representations of Mario Sunshine since the game came out. They didn’t have to do it. But it’s absolutely amazing that they did. I popped off so hard when I saw it 😊
“What is the Treehouse?” Nintendo Treehouse is a product development division at Nintendo of America. While its main purpose is translating the games for the Americas into English, French and Spanish, they also help with QA Testing and product management. They tend to do gameplay live-streams in TH-cam when promoting new products.

* So the Nintendo Treehouse is a division of Nintendo of America responsible for translating games into English, but also for doing certain gameplay presentations and demonstrations for games before they come out. They're notoriously pretty bad at games. * Deep Cut (Frye, Shiver, and Big Man) is the idol group of Splatoon 3 that does the vocal mixes in the game and handles other things like news presentations and Splatfests in game. Callie and Marie (the two pink and green girls that show up in the story) are the idols from the first game, The Squid Sisters. * Big Man's Boss fight is based on a boss fight from Super Mario Sunshine, a Gamecube game from 2002. The goal is to destroy the big manta ray which breaks down to smaller ones and find the real Big Man hidden among them. * Mr. Grizz is the character that's in charge of the Salmon Run mode, which is how Failboat was able to connect that he was involved in the story, and why he talks about losing his minimum wage job with him after beating him. * Splatoon Music is an experience. I know a lot of people are huge fans of it and will fight and die that it's some of the best music Nintendo has to offer. It's a very strange combination of 80's/90's rock, grunge, reggae, ska, punk, and pop. Of all Nintendo franchises, while it isn't my favorite OST I'd still rank it as either 4th or 5th overall (which is high praise seeing as I'd probably put it over both Pokemon and Mario music) and recommend giving it a listen some time.
That first level IS difficult. My second hardest level was one where I had to spam charger shots to take out 60 balloons in 1 minute. 1 game over, 4 total lives. (For reference I’m one of those dudes who is great at single player but sucks at multiplayer.) This level with the blaster and splatting both took 3-4 lives. With the tri-stringer? 13 attempts. Because when you charge your shot, it tightens your spread AND lifts your crosshair. And if the exploding bolts hit a box, they won’t explode. And the final 3 boxes ironically need uncharged shots. For me? Hardest level in the game besides maybe After Alterna.
The lore of Splatoon is that EVERY HUMAN ON EARTH IS DEAD, and so all the sea creatures starting making use out of the earth, all mammals are dead outside of Grizz, and now the Inklings and Octolings have fun turf wars for fun instead of war.
This is probably just a me thing. But I feel like a teenager squid kid with a salmon chicken thing fighting a giant bear with a kind of adorable tiny head that's trying to infect the entire world by putting fur on them as the squid idols that call themselves sisters even though they're cousins sing a Calamari Incantation in the background ISN'T the weirdest thing to happen in this series. I'm just saying the last game's big villain was a sentient telephone that attempted to take people to the "promiseland" by putting them in a blender and for some reason had a giant mega death laser in a shape of a human's head just laying around
Idk, I think we’ve all been desensitised to the OG insanity that is fighting a DJ octopus king in a flying turntable mech with giant hands as he dances against his will to a folk-song-turned-idol-hit that reverses brainwashing and contains the secrets to enlightenment.
Since you like checking out abridged series, you should react to Totally Legit Recap by DWK. It’s like an abridged/review series for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It’s really good.
If u want a summary to splatoon lore Humanity is stupid and caused global warming killing everybody on earth by flooding, causing sea life to gain more sentience and forming a society and looking more and more human. There’s also a cat who is basically immortal that also has a clone but that doesn’t matter

The sauce meter actually isn't a thing it's just a joke failboat made
2:04 the Treehouse is a Nintendo division that tries out the game that’s soon be to be released and discuss about it mechanically.
Initially Splatoon started out as a game of Rabbits using paint in turf wars, but Nintendo didn't think that made sense and the went with Squids.
Oh yeah that makes so much more sense

Suggestion: React to "Splatoon Series Explained (in 14 minutes)" by Chase Kip, to get a glimpse into the ridiculous Splatoon lore.
The treehouse is a Nintendo thing where they showcase videogames before it launches
“What’s the sauce meter does that make it easier?” Bro has not seen editing in his life
Because I’ve never played the game?
@@theduckgoesmoo I believe that's a Failboat thing; I've played Splatoon 3 to the very end and there's no such thing as a sauce meter in the game
@@theduckgoesmoo The sauce meter was just a joke by failboat, It's just an existing meter in the game but edited to say sauce meter
I suggest fail boats animal crossing videos. They’re definitely a crazy time.
