    21:51 I like how the Crull repaired its AI right as he opened the menu, and he immediately assumes he didn't turn it on. The timing of that was amazing.
    20:34 You see the AI is in combat here; you did check it first. Missiles hit about 10s into the fight. I guess the Crull lost its AI shortly before the fight ended; luckily the battle concluded before it was destroyed for being AI dead :P

    it looks like you have a small space in the rear of your hover tank where you can fit a small rear facing anti missile A/C. that way, when the missile pulls in behind your hover the AMS has plenty of time to shoot down the missile while it's chasing you. Add a single rear facing shield to stop fragments from killing your engines and you are good. You can even use an control block to activate the rear facing shield only while the AMS is firing and for a few seconds after to save power. i would also suggest a few batteries specifically so the rear facing shield can activate at full power and not affect your speed or engine output.

    Would it be possible to make a vehicle with a high-velocity 120mm slug railgun for AA? I've recently started using those, and I've found that they do huge amounts of damage, but are useless against anything shielded.

    The PID's are quite intimidating at first, but really are pretty easy to figure out, they may even be easier to use than the ACB's in this application. Good vid and good series so far.

    If you have a little bit of left-over volume, you can add 1 or 2m alloy/wood wedges on the front to eliminate the flat surface. It won't increase the speed by much since it's just a single line that's flat, but hey. Although it might ruin its appearance.

    As someone with 30 or so hours in FTD, having been convinced by your seasons that it was definitely up my alley, for all that is unholy, please upload a variant of your hover-tanks.
    Finally getting close to a decent brawling ship, and been wanting to create an airship/hover-vehicle since i picked the game up. PID's are currently way out of my reach, and having something to examine and 'reverse-engineer' would help immensely.
    Definitely enjoy the FTD series you do. Not really interested in your other stuff, but have gone through S2-now of your FTD. :D

    I recreated your minigun from the first advanced cannon showcase you did when it just came out. It has a 0.01 second cooldown but can only fire 20-25 shots before reloading. It can put a hole in a bulwark with inertial fuse 1-warhead explosive shells. It holds 600 shells. Max gauge. Amazing.

    Lathland, what you should do with that super missile carrier is make it a seige weapon for buildings and bosses! It may just be a one shot thing but three of those together would be absolutely devastating against any large target

    Call the skimmer "hell blade", it has two groups of cannons, it's fast, it fits the bill, except it's a flyer not a skimmer. But there are no notable skimming tanks in the human or chaos armies

    since all the terrain here looks completely flat and there are no landmines, what are the advantages of a hovertank? do the thrusters need less volume than wheels?

      The terrain isn't flat everywhere, I just happen to be in the flat section of the map, north and east areas are actually very uneven. :)

      I'm pretty sure that almost any wheeled vehicle would flip when turning at such high speed while a hovercraft remains stable and just slides with the momentum.. Of course a heeled vehicle could use jets or rotorblades for downforce to prevent it from flipping but then it would have both vertical thrust and wheels and be more expensive.. It might have advantage of tight turns but would have trouble with terrain and might be quite vulnerable.. More height can be advantage or disadvantage with friendly fire etc..

      youre right, i noticed the ground tanks are quite prone to friendly firing each other. maybe telling the hovercrafts to fly at different heights will help prevent them from shooting each other so much?

    Lathland have you considered using a single dedicated heli spinner with control blocks just for emergency lift. Have it set extremely low altitude but if you get close the a hill or mountain it will fire on and lift your tank. I have an airship that uses heliblades for altitude and PIDs for pitch and roll. Just a thought

    I think the missile-hover tank would be a good ranged support artillery platform. As it wouldn't hit any friendlies because of the height the missiles are being shot from.

    Use the PID to only control Pitch and Roll and then use heliblades with control blocks to keep altitude relative to ground/sea level, this gives you the best of both ways

    Lath i personally think u should keep the shell inaccuracy and put timed fuses with the laser emitters to make a shotgun shell that explodes infront of a target so every shell hits somewhat

    Laxtrix you should take the uncapped shells version of that turret and make a Anti-Aircraft gun with it because the inaccuracy of the shells would easily take different components like a shotgun or a mini-gun with their spread

    Idea for how to bring this into the game! Front facing harpoons and a TON of (spinning?) battering rams and tada theres your capturing vehicle! The top missiles could also be harpoons and then a grinder in the middle to just chew up any vehicle daring to fly above it xD

    While the pid hovers baby smooth, it's fuel consumption is fairly high. The rotors are better if you need to conserve.

    Also make a suicidical or bomber version of this hovercraft. It would weave easily in between and spread mines, making enemies like the small dustwind gypsie's bikes useless, as well as locking down the enemy.

    Does making the turret with lighter blocks make the turret turn rate faster in game?
    What I'm trying to say is that with real tanks, heavy armor is at the face of the turret while thinner armor is more at the back to save weight on the vehicle. So maybe not making the entire turret heavy armor but a combination of heavy armor and lighter material?

    I have an idea for a campaign,shadow wars.This campaign would require you to combat enemies who obliterate you in combat,so you would have to covertly fight back using stealth and long range artillery,raiding resources and sabotaging production while fluctuating your territory.

    Honestly use a 4 module hover system: You make a small rectangular hull and you put 4 small modules around it (kinda like the halo tank) that uses hover blades as propulsion inside the modules and maybe put some thrusters on for speed

    I know I'll sound like a prick, but osmosis is only for solvents. The particle cannon would have diffuses through the tank, if it can be called that. I just needed to get that out because reasons.

    if you made a small drill like vehicle that had a nuke (or two...or 4) in it... do you think it would drill in to the enemy and then go boom? or is there maybe a way to say "if enemy closer the X ... GO BOOM" or something
    i would try it out but i dont have the time and i would love a long time players advise/opinion....

    lath you could make several versions of this with different weapons like one could be a missile bay other particle cannon and another with cram but slower and more heavily armored etc.. to add spice and hard to counter effect to your army since the hull of the hover craft is so versatile

    Btw you can really shrink the turning radius of hovers by adding opposing thrusters to the rear sides instead of just up front.
    So a right turn would look like:

      That's how the cultist works, along with the Vulture + Firework aircraft I am very aware of this hehe ^^ But with the amount of IR missiles being thrown at me, and having the most vulnerable section already at the back - adding more heat there results in a worse time If I don't want to go down the route of adding flares, having the turning heat so on the front results in some odd turns for IR missiles which can result in saving a fair bit of damage.

    Oh, Lath, have you ever experimented with HEAT ammo? Provided they're a big enough size, or fired in large enough volume, they are really effective anti-armor shells, albeit with a lower damage output, they are capable of piercing whatever armor there is, even from shields and capable of doing internal damage, depending on how much penetration your HEAT warhead has.

    If my estimates are right you had to Q dedicate jets for roll, maybe pitch and height?
    Consider to build a small copter with repair bots, tentacles and ACB activated anti missile small rockets to protect your tanks from missiles.
    Maybe a tail with a heat decoy on this hover would mislead some enemy missiles?
    (and is begs for just a few good rams in crowded sutuations)

    Lath do you think you could make a vehicle that doesn't attack and is instead just super defensive with shields and cannons that only shoot missiles and enemy bullets. Immortal vehicle would mean you could draw all attention to it then have supper weak vehicles that do massive damage

    You don't even need a hole in the hull. Using an inline turbocharger lets you continuously feed the exhaust that comes out of the turbocharger back into it.

      Talion Gosuto It's accessed through the exhausts submenu. They act very similarly to regular turbochargers, providing an exhaust port and cooling effect to cylinders and increasing high RPM efficiency for carburetors, except they can connect at the bottom to an exhaust system that's connected to an adjacent cylinder, refining the exhaust for great fuel efficiency. Because of this, you can create an infinite exhaust loop where the exhaust exiting the turbocharger goes directly back inside. It causes a bit of a dropage in frames because the game incorrectly reads the amount of exhaust entering the turbocharger, but it lets you build an enclosed, self-contained engine without worrying about overheating.

    If you pull a shield into 1m away, you can make a full power full size shield for 100 energy

    If you don't want it to be overpowered put the shields on one side of the craft and ask it to broadside.

    put the hovercraft at the beginning in the campaign but as a resource Runner between the fleets and the resource points

    I was sincerely disappointed seeing that you made that into a hovercraft rather than the Mark 1 (the WWI tank that had cannons on the side. It had the same shape as the hovertank in the first clip)
