    I wish I wasn't a people pleaser. It makes me not want to be around people. It's exhausting being around other people. I don't want a friend just don't want to be rejected.

    The people pleasing is a common trauma response to not being diagnosed and thus not having the support you actually needed all along, being constantly told you're wrong and everything about you is wrong, and being punished for your mannerisms. So the "fawn" trauma response of placating others at the expense of your own comfort and safety is pretty understandable in a late diagnosed person specifically.

    6:49 I don’t always have people pleasing tendencies, but there was a time when it was almost everything to me, so I use to fit in to that: “what do I need? To know what you need”

    There are days I live in my noise cancelling over ear headphones. Earbuds hurt after a while. ADHD not autistic but it’s surprising how much overlap there is.

      If you are ADHD and have sensory sensitivities and are physically uncoordinated and have trouble communicating clearly with others and have one specific kind of sock you can stand on your feet, I may have news for you… 😅

    If other people around me are sad I'm sad. If people are happy then I am happy. It sucks having to rely on other to for emotions.

    I was always good at homework but sucked at school work. Being new all the time and having troubles with people. I do well on my own. I can do everything without people except drive because of my sight. If I didn't have a mom and brother I would have nobody.

    Is there such a thing as a mental stim? Like clicking your teeth together on either side of a telephone pole when you pass by it in a car? Or stepping over the lines on the sidewalk? It's not an OCD thing, like I don't "HAVE TO", it is just a nice thing I have done since I was a kid...

      I do a weird thing with the stickers that are on any apple I'm eating. I put it in the middle of my forehead. I've gone to the store, picked up my kid from school, the bank... All with a Red Delicious Apple Sticker on my forehead. All those times, I actually forgot I had it on! ... No one ever said anything or looked at me weird ... Maybe they did and I'm oblivious to it...?
      EDIT ADD ON: I don't HAVE to put that sticker on my forehead... I think it's funny and nobody cares... When I finally notice a mirror, and laughing say, "OH MY GOD.... I've had this sticker on my head for hours and went a bunch of places and no one said ANYthing!!!"
      I think that's hilarious!

    Yeah, I like my fries on the crispy side, no ketchup - I love the taste of the taters! If I put ketchup on my fries... Well, it means they're not very good and needs help, lots of help! But if they're saggy and sad, I shove them suckers as far away from myself as possible! 🤢😤😣😩😫😣
    I matched a lot from the list probably because I'm a AuDHDer!

    I'm so glad I found kratom and it gets tested. I use to take pain killers any I could find. With fentynal being so crazy I would definitely be dead if I didn't find kratom. I recommend people on the spectrum to look into kratom.

      I'm not yelling at you ... I was yelling at the Brain Radio! It will do what I say... Eventually.

    I never was a people pleaser. For me it just makes no sense at all to put the needs of others before my own needs.
    Only the wellbeing of my dog comes first because it's my job to care for him. Anyone else has to wait or just gets a no. It's simple. In my life of course it's me first. Because it is MY life.

    I always learn what everybody likes so I can give them something. Because I don't know how to be their emotionally for people. I can't stand small talk. Get to the point so I can walk away and it not be rude.

      It depends on the subject and the emotion. If I'm talking about what I love I'm the loudest. But if I'm talking about stuff just to be nice I'm quiet.

    That bot is trolling Jacque again. I do think that when you have a lot of empathy and feel isolated, you can ignore your own needs more than not. If that makes sense

    0:56 speaking of jawline, I have one from constantly grinding my teeth while sleeping. I’ve destroyed my retainers and my night guards last only a couple months before they get holy. I try to get Botox injections to the masseter routinely but it’s expensive. Does anyone know if nightly teeth grinding is a form of stimming? I’m not sure if it counts since I’m not consciously doing it.

    • @Flopsi80
      @Flopsi80 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Don't you have a dental splint for that?

    • @mkryu
      @mkryu หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Flopsi80 yes. I have a night guard/retainer. It only protects the teeth from further grinding down. It doesn’t stop me from grinding unfortunately. Botox helps by weakening my jaw muscles so I don’t grind as hard. It does give me a nice chiseled jawline too since I don’t have that extra muscle protruding.
