      Thank you Damiano I am happy you like it. It was close to what I was thinking but the log was not big enough around to get there. But in the end I like it worked.
      The important thing is my friends like it and they already came up with some uses for it. Sitting right side up they might but some decorative things in plus the tealight.
      Thanks for watching and I am now working on something that is up your alley. A ton of complicated joints is is all I will say. I work on that while turning chunks of wood.
      It is getting close but it requires really good joints.

    Great job! You know, I could always see the novelty of turning a "winged bowl" such as this one. But here I can really see the utility of this design in that the wings give you a nice handle to grab and move a candle while still lit. Of course I am not saying that anybody should do anything dangerous with a candle... and perhaps it was always completely obvious to everybody else as to why a winged bowl would have such utility.

      Thank you Chris. I think mostly they are fun to do and have an interesting look. And the come with built in handles.

    I always forget to ask. How did you make that turntable that you use to display these lovelies?

    • @ThePapa1947
      @ThePapa1947  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought a motor for a microwave turntable off of ebay. I then used scraps from the shop. Plus I used ball bearings. I have bearings for different things I make around the shop.
      Funny thing is if I stop it sometimes it goes in the other direction which some microwaves do.
      I made sure I got a very slow running motor and I made a coupler to attach it to the shaft I made. So it is direct drive.
