@Branden69420 It's obviously not a hard use knife, so realistically the welded tang is fine. But for all that work and not have it "right" is really a bummer regardless.
Your suggestion is great, I actually did the same thing, but I didn't capture it. I actually grinded for hours, but only showed a few seconds in the video = =!
As a fixed blade lover I really don’t like daggers however you video build and dagger looked great welding a piece on the tang didn’t discourage the build many knife makers do that same thing and no one get bent about it good work thanks for sharing
Turned out beautiful; however, welding the tang onto the blank created an extremely weak point which will snap in two with minimal pressure. Sorry, but you forged a blank and then cut the blade out. The dagger was not actually a forged blade.
I cant be the only machinist whose heart broke a bit watching you turn wood on a metal turning lathe.. Set up some sort of dust collection for that.. The resins in the wood dust will etch the steel. Otherwise, beautiful dagger.
That's not forging that's cutting out a blank. And that tang would never stand up to the first cut. Why do ppl put "im forging this" then cut out a shape. No buddy you forged a blank not a knife.
The welded tang makes me sad

@@MUCKLEECH me too. 😔

@Branden69420By all means, show us how it’s done.
That is a beautiful piece of art.
That turned out beautiful! I love the wood you used.
11:10 cute kitty aaaww ✌🏽😍🫶🏽
In addition to the one you see, I have three more. 🍻
Once again you have given us a wonderful piece of knife making art! Thank you Han. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for your long-term support and encouragement🍻
@ you’re more than welcome, you in my opinion deserve all the credit and more from your subscribers. 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey, Hans. I'm really glad to see you on TH-cam again. I hope your videos will be released much more often.
Long time no see bro, I will post videos more frequently in the future.
I think it is a cool piece

Thank you for giving such a high evaluation!

Metalworking TH-camrs: “Is this Damascus?”
WOW! Now this a work of art. Beautifully crafted. Have you thought abut make a sword version of this?
@@rome79735 I don’t think a sword with a welded tang would work.
Very lovely. But if I may offer one thing, use some oil when milling :D

Impressive!

Hello Hans beautiful knife Beautifully made good job well done
Thanks!🍻
Completely beautiful 😍 🤩 knife, my friend. Nice work. Next time, you can put wax on it
Thank you 🍻
¡Quedó hermosa! Excelente trabajo.
Thanks !🍻
That was extraordinary!
I'm hoping that those bolts were high tensile or something. Nice looking dagger and fun vid to watch.
Thank you, the bolt specification grade is 12.9, which belongs to the high carbon steel series
@@HansKnives Ahhhh ok. I figured so, but I just had to ask.
Beautiful. Excellent. Looks like an ABS master Smith blade.
@@JacobHaley-vp8kv nope. It might ‘look like’ one to an inexperienced person, but it isn’t.
Been neat if you had blued the hardware to a mirror shine! Nice design.
COFFEE!
Awesome!!👍
Amazing. But it looked a lot better shiny
That looks awesome! What kind of bolts did you use? And what brand?
Ummm wouldn’t it be consider canister damascus?
Nice job 😮

50,000 micro fractured envelope opener. Nice.
OTTIMO LAVORO 👏👏👏👍🙋
Thank you 🍻
Beautiful
WTF? This is a toy, no serious Dagger. It looks good, thats all.
That's not forging that's cutting out a blank. And that tang would never stand up to the first cut. Why do ppl put "im forging this" then cut out a shape. No buddy you forged a blank not a knife.
Wrong. "Forging" is the hammering and pressing process performed to shape the metal piece that was eventually cut into the shape of the knife.
Round handle => not suitable for use... Don't you want to correct this blunder ? The blade itself and the guard are excellent !
The temperature is about 200 degrees Celsius, in order to reduce stress and increase toughness
@@HansKnives Good good👍
May i know what powder is that you use?
Just ordinary high carbon steel powder, carbon steel powder with carbon content greater than 0.7%
That's definitely not a dager I would buy. Welded tang, you can keep that!
Sticking to the press. Too cold
4:08 LOWER the vertical Blade Guide! I can see the blade wobbling. 1/4" to 3/8" above the work piece. RTFM for your band saw!
I want to do this, but the rails are fixed = =! You are so thoughtful. Thank you
Luxo.............................
this is not hi carbon stell? when you sand belt it it has almost no sparkles
Since the shooting was almost over, I didn't grind too hard.
Welding the tang was a mistake. The handle and guard are decorative but not very practical.
Forging a billet to then cut out a knife?
In order not to change the pattern
Magnifique 💪🏻👏🏻
How Original another knife
Beautiful
Thanks!🍻
