this is a magnificent project, although for the size I thought you could have been more on the explaining part of it all, you have obviously made this a few times therefor you do neglect to give every detail. I learnt a lot from the first Manor I made and am a lot happier with the second try, yes I will be buying more of the houses as I do like them.
    thakyou

I love all your projects. The only thing I can think that would help tremendously is to have the different color lines on the pdf for mountain and valley folds like was done on the heirloom Christmas tree pdf. For a project like this, that has many different folds, some mountain, some valley, it would be a great visual aid. Much easier than pausing the video to figure out how to fold. I love your designs, I truly do. That’s the only issue I’ve had. Thank you so much for your beautiful designs. I’ve done all the “manors” I think. This will be my last one. My fav so far was Maple Manor. I’m doing them all for a Christmas display.

I only has issues with taking pieces and using the backside then having to split where it was glued and do over. lol ,.. Thanks for this ! Awesome file! Hugs!

Beautiful building! May I humbly ask that you demonstrate with the original paper used in the sample for the tutorial? I find it very confusing with these complex designs to follow along sometimes. I'm happy to see alternate uses of paper and often add my own "spin" but feel the instructions would be MORE useful with the original paper. Thank You!

I started this house over the weekend and it's frustrating that the folds are already done and not shown how before hand. I ran across several mistakes because your video goes too fast and the paper blends in with the background. Please consider including fold instructions as well as zooming in closer.

I’m so sorry about that, Lisa! That sounds frustrating and I really appreciate you taking the time to leave detailed feedback on things I could improve. Thank you!

Mary!!! You have outdone yourself with this design. It's so beautiful I can't wait to make it! I wonder if you would please link to the papers and glue you use when you do your process videos? I don't live near any crafty stores so it can be hard for me to know which papers are well suited to buy online. Xoxoxo

Beautiful project. As a beginner this video is very difficult to follow. I wish it was done in a step by step way..

Well, this is the most difficult of all your projects, Mary. Please take into consideration, when doing these tutorials - you know what your doing and it would be nice if you didn't skip to the next section before the viewer gets a chance to look and the consequence of what you have just shown. Now, I can certainly appreciate why 'builders' do not like architects drawings. I'll have to make another Manor and hope the next one makes more sense.

I agree - I'm blown away too by this house. Question: what cardstock did you use for the main parts of the house. And what weight is it?
    Thanks. Hugs

I love this house, but being totally new to the paper crafting. I don’t get it , I’m more frustrated than anything. I am simple minded and need a little more detail.

So damned frustrated. I finally just threw it away after many many hours. I got to the cupolla, at 58 minutes into video. Could not get cupola to fit the roof, one of 100 frustrations I ran into on fit. I am a perfectionist and everything is done EXACTLY as explained. Measurements, lines lined up, as did folds. I used 100 lb textured cardstock, but glue warped the paper so badly, and my glue was the same as was recommended. I did not get glue happy either.

I've used these files before, but this time this one will not go into Silhouette cameo business edition correctly. I can only get the extras and they are far too small for this project. Would like to know what I've done wrong because I really want to make this. Thanks

Are there more detailed written instructions besides the pdf? I was doing okay unitl I got to attaching the bottom pieces onto 9x. It would have helped to understand how you had already folded yours before you started assembling.

Hi rrkluchki, I'm so sorry to hear that you were having trouble. There are not additional written instructions besides the PDF Menu document. Thanks for the feedback. I can see how folding instructions would be helpful and I'll see what I can do to include those. ~Mary

Hi Mary what weight paper do you use for the main walls etc,,,? Im going to purchase this to make for my granddaughter and would like to use the right weight paper. I made the Maple Manor house and really had a hard time getting the best paper to use. So your opinion would be very helpful. Thanks so much.

    • @svgcuts
      @svgcuts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Bridget! I'd say about "80 lb" paper works great, but there's quite a bit of wiggle room.. here's some more information about recommended paper weights: svgcuts.com/blog/2017/04/03/what-kind-of-card-stock-is-best/ Thanks for stopping by! ~Mary
