@@williamstclaire809 I grew up in late 60's early 70's Britain, hearing (and sadly) believing the biased history lessons and mainstream media propaganda which was the only story told at the time. Later in life I spent a lot of time in rural Northern Ireland where I started to learn a perhaps less biased version of the "truth". My opinion, we were all victims of politicians with moving mouths, (never a good combination). Considering what was done to the people by the British government, I found the Irish a generally wonderful folk, with a rich heritage, but above all some amazing music. I've followed Gay Woods for much of her career. If you can track it down, their album Lake Song from Red Waters is definitely well worth listening to.
@@drayboydog Hello Phil, Do you have the album you wrote about in your post, "Lake Sing from Red Waters"? What are the tracks on it? Gay & Terry Woods are not known much in USA. I purchased some of their albums when I was visiting Ireland and also in London back in the 1980's and 1970's.
Meu Deus! Que voz fantástica tem esse homem abençoado pelos Deuses! A versão mais encantada desta balada ! Eu AMO tudo o que Terry e a eletrizante Gay Woods fazem! Oh God! What a fantastic voice has this man blessed by the Gods! The most enchanted version of this ballad! I really love all that they do, Terry and the electrifying Gay Woods!
I can't stop listening to this track, it's musical perfection. Sad, mournful yet truly beautiful
Myself as well. I had no idea about any of this, no matter what side you are on, this would bring a grown man to tears, most definitely.

One of the most moving versions of an Irish ballad ever. Real shame that Terry & Gay Woods split up and didn't do more in this vein
The hairs on my back always stand to attention when i hear this beautiful ballad.
