inverse sec arc sec of a whole number calculated and then explained in further detail

  • I've had a few people ask for help on this when their calculator doesn't have the sec / inverse sec button. I've seen fractions and decimals shown on TH-cam, but no while numbers. Answer: turn your whole number into a faction, and then inverse the faction to make it useable on one of the buttons you do have (sin, cos, tan). If sec = 1/cos, then use cos with the inverse of the number given. If it's inverse sec, then just use inverse cos with the inverse of the sec number given. This way you don't have to inverse the function, only the number (no need to put 1/inverse cos in order to figure out inverse secant).
    Hopefully this helps someone or there who can't find the answer they need, or can't figure it out from other videos
