If Mitsubishi made another Evo with an updated 4g63. Just take my money! I bought a 2005 Evo 8 new. Within 3 month it was putting 360 whp . Drove the crap out of it for 3 yrs than put a 3076r and put down 460 whp for 2 yrs. I never had one issue until the balance shafts decided to eat itself because of 5yrs of abuse to 8000rpm. Built the block and head with a 6266 twin scroll with 582 whp on pump for 2 yrs and sold it. Worst mistake I have done. When through multiple cars fiesta st, golf r, c6 zo6 and none compared. The corvette was awesome but wasn’t the same. So I’m building a dsm now 😂
I also bought my 05 Evo 8 new. 160k miles later at 400 WHP...no issues whatsoever in 15 years. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if Mitsubishi decides to build an XI.

Those saying K series are better, they need sleeving to hold big power, same with b series. A 4g63 will do 1000+ on stock iron block. I love both but the 4g63 is the daddy.
Just got my first evo, 05 gg mr. I couldn’t be happier with the car, bunch of issues. 6 months of repair and paint. Now summer, kids love it. Plenty of space, enough power to have fun with. Hard not to try and build it

Evo was my hero car in my youth. But growing up next to Speed Factory Racing in WA, seeing 10sec single cams and 7sec H pattern outlaw cars, my heart has to go out to Honda haha. Now they have GTR slaying awd Civics. Great time

I choose ka over sr those ka motors were shown a severe amount of abuse long before engine swaps were the big thing to do so I have to give them more respect. Don’t discount the sr20 though that engine has seen its fair share of beat downs as well and still lives
4g63 is number 1 k series close second because its a newer engine with better tech in it look at how long 63s have been around its just a really good engine

Naturally aspirated (when built), it can hold power like nobody else (for it’s size). Boosted? Amazing results, just like these Evos. Just my opinion though. Both are really great! 😃
4G63T's have a very strong bottom end. Iron block and forged sbe make for a high hp recipe. I think the f-series are pretty stout from what i understand too. Both are great motors regardless
I own a k24 and a 6bolt 4g63t. 4g63 is just a legendary engine and is a very old design. It Will be remembered 40 years from now as a total powerhouse engine. K24 is making a name for itself and is very efficient. N/a and boosted. And will definitely be kicking ass for years. Being it's more modern and efficient it's technically on paper a better engine.
Mitsubishi Evolution best AWD car out there and i have no regrets about buying my Evo x besides not owning another evo 9 or 8 shit if i could afford all of them i would own all evos 1-10 thats how much i love evos.
Check out the Australians and the Puerto Ricans. They both have built big tire cars with billet 4G63s and have run up to 112 psi boost on the big end and run 6:34 at 226. I don’t care who you are, that kind of power out of 135 cubic inches is fucking insanely awesome!
