It cracks me up. 😂 How the manufacturers say middleweight. When they should be called heavyweight. And the big 1200 and 1300 should be called super heavyweight. Good video
Totally agree. A 1200 or 1300 bike is totally unsuitable for anything other than tarmac. These bikes weigh 250kg plus. If you drop them, assuming you don’t get seriously injured, most people could not pick them up.
Find me a single manufacturer that refers to these as middleweight bikes. Thats an invention of us the consumer and the “journalists” covering the industry.

Another brilliant video Kate keep up the great work :) Agree with all your comments on the T7 having had one. Informative video as always :) Interesting comments about the Transalp, Keep up the brilliant work Kate.
My mate bought a T7 back in 2023 after 20 odd years off bikes and it does everything. Motorways, scratching round the Isle of Man, the lot. He bought a Z900RS for "touring" and has barely ridden it as the he finds the T7 just easier to get on with.

I love the way Suzuki have chosen to resurrect the styling of the DR800 Dr Big (an 800cc single 🤯) which was almost universally agreed to be one of the ugliest bikes on the market when it came out.🤣 When I used to commute into Manchester for work, I used to regularly see a couple of despatch riders on Dr Bigs who lived on my route. One time I followed one of them to the front of traffic at lights, in between two lanes of cars. When he got there there wasn't enough room to lean his bike over far enough to get his foot down (Dr Bigs were BIG), so he just leaned his knee on the driver's door of the car to his left. The driver went mental, but he couldn't do anything 'cos he couldn't open his door! Then of course, wehen the lights changed, the bike just left him for dust🤣

@simulacrae Yeah, it is a good looking bike and very comfortable seat position. Have not rode one, afraid to while still making payments on my Africa Twin. I just love riding my old DR650 and there is just something about the performance of a Suzuki.
Hi, nice video. I think You forgot Aprilia Tuareg and some others. But yes KTM and Suzuki are very good . I'll buy Suzuki 800 de in spring next year it's much better choice over the 790 ... it's Japanese bike and it's more beautiful.even is heavier and less powerful..
I didnt forget Aprilia, Aprilia didn't show! Even if they did, it wouldn't be in my top 5 being I haven't ridden it yet, so I cant comment on something I've not ridden for my top picks :)

Love the looks of the Transalp especially in that colour scheme. The KTM (having always said I hate 'em) seems to start interesting me more than it maybe should...! And it's a tie for last place between the BMW and Yamaha (both being bikes I would never allow to waste space in my garage). That leaves the T-Strom on top of the pile..., just not in that colour, yuck. I've never been a fan of Yellow bikes (or cars) and to add to my yellow dislike, the postmen/women deliver our Mail over here on yellow Mopeds, so i'd hate to ever get mistaken for a posty boy. So, the results are in.... 1 - Suzuki. 2 - KTM. 3 - Honda. 4 - Voge. And joint 5th, the Yammie and Beemer. As you see, the Voge figures in my list as I think it's a bike to reckon with in the future, especially if it sells in hundreds and thousands around the world, and the company plough money into further developing it, i.e. keeping up with the Jones's.
I have seen entire Thai families of 5 flying down dirt tracks on a Honda SH125. No peaked helmets, GPS or aluminum boxes in sight. In fact the only adventure is to go and buy some eggs in the adjoining village.
Did all the blokes around not creep you out gawping lol, watched loads of TH-camrs do stuff to camera at the bike shows and seems like loads just get up close n stare, proper weird 😂
well I wouldn't be touching anything in orange at the moment, KTM today have said they are in self-administration, which is laughable if it wasn't true, because they have just released a load of new motorcycles, their warranties are going to mean diddly squat to anyone including Jeremy Clarkson down on his farm, KTM are going under.
Adventure bikes are so old school , the Charlie’s are no longer going the wrong way round … the triumph 800 tiger sport will become the best selling middle weight despite your bias
That's a replacement for the Mk1 Tracer 900,with cheap clocks and a £4Grand price increase....should have been under £10k....why I've never bought a Triumph, for the renters only!(my last new Tracer was £7495 out the door in 2018).
I wanted to love the KTM's so badly! Then I found out they were "outsourcing" to you-know-where. I was thinking (cam shafts and so forth) "Please don't blow up! Please don't blow up!" Then it was like "Blam! Ka-Boom! Ker-blewie!" FHARK! ...there went that.
@@Toxicdemon2 BMW does a little thing called quality control. People went banns when they heard that the 850 motor was made in china and yet, no serious issues has been reported.

My 850 has 26000 miles on it with no problems. It’s a great engine.
@@simulacrae Every brand has had to recal a model at some time. With or without quality control... No brand is 100%. And not only engines but also electronics or switchgear etc get manifactures in China. If you own a KTM, Bmw, Honda, Yamaha etc.. even a Harley contains Chinese parts.
And I know a guy whom did over 30000 miles on a CFMOTO 800MT ( with that same 790 engine as the KTM ). With zero issues... point is that all brands are outsoursing to either India or China.
Nice video, i grew up in the uk, never rode a bike, spent 26 years in the u.s. never rode a bike 2 years in canada, never rode a bike, last 10 years living in italy, first 5 years never ride, february 2020 bought my first scooter bike yamaha nmax 125, august of this year traded it in for a sym joymax z plus, in nearly 5 years of riding, dont drive the car really anymore, i do ride the bike or scooter pretty much year round, except when it rains, in the uk your weather is really crap mostly, how does one ride year round? You dont, so the bike is not really used that much, just sits indoors. in some cases kind of pointless owning a bike. My question to you is, do you ride year round?
Excuse the rant but.....all these people complaining about calling them middleweights or whining that they're too heavy to take off road is absolutely ridiculous. They're only limited by the rider ability so if its just that they're too heavy for you, maybe you should get yourself to the gym or just go and buy yourself a Vespa. Either way, stop whining.
I mainly rode the 1200 that day (which is in tomorrow's video) I rode the 900 about 100 metres back to base. Can't exactly comment from riding it a stones throw 🤣

Haven't ridden it. It's just my personal picks based on what I've ridden.
No love for triumph tiger 9?
Haven't ridden it. It's my top 5 picks haha
Oh yes! #WeloveaVstrom 🙂
❤❤❤❤
As you see, the Voge figures in my list as I think it's a bike to reckon with in the future, especially if it sells in hundreds and thousands around the world, and the company plough money into further developing it, i.e. keeping up with the Jones's.
what about triumph bikes??
I haven't really ridden the 900 tigers to comment 😊
What was the guy doing at the end 😂😂😂😂
❤
I have seen entire Thai families of 5 flying down dirt tracks on a Honda SH125. No peaked helmets, GPS or aluminum boxes in sight. In fact the only adventure is to go and buy some eggs in the adjoining village.
Too bad you missed the Aprilia Tuareg 660. Especially the 2025 Rally version. Best adventure bike of 2025 imo
Only picked bikes I've ridden and had experience with 😊
@ I understand 😊 you should try the Tuareg. You’ll love it, I’m sure!
I'd love to have a go!
0:30 min. Not sure if daddy already knew about Kate but he likes her anyway. And who can blame him. 🤣
Did all the blokes around not creep you out gawping lol, watched loads of TH-camrs do stuff to camera at the bike shows and seems like loads just get up close n stare, proper weird 😂
I didn't notice much as just in the zone speaking to the camera :)
And why Not 🤣
Can't understand why the headlight is so small looks awful really takes from the bike.
Why are you calling it the UK version of a foreign motorbike show ?. It’s the UK motorbike show.
purely for keyword optimisation
Because it’s better than saying I went to a second rate show.
@ best to be honest about it then.
It's not dishonest in my opinion, just creative ways to help the video reach people. But yes David, its never going to be as good or big as EICMA :)
well I wouldn't be touching anything in orange at the moment, KTM today have said they are in self-administration, which is laughable if it wasn't true, because they have just released a load of new motorcycles, their warranties are going to mean diddly squat to anyone including Jeremy Clarkson down on his farm, KTM are going under.
V strom is hot and heavy, KTM has gone broke, Transalp for the win.
👍👍🇺🇸
Adventure bikes are trail bikes/dirt bikes.
😲🫠💕
I wanted to love the KTM's so badly!
Then I found out they were "outsourcing" to you-know-where.
I was thinking (cam shafts and so forth) "Please don't blow up! Please don't blow up!"
Then it was like "Blam! Ka-Boom! Ker-blewie!"
FHARK!
...there went that.
then don't buy for example a BMW either, because they do the same
@@Toxicdemon2 BMW does a little thing called quality control.
BMW 900 gs tank is too tiny.
🥲
Excuse the rant but.....all these people complaining about calling them middleweights or whining that they're too heavy to take off road is absolutely ridiculous. They're only limited by the rider ability so if its just that they're too heavy for you, maybe you should get yourself to the gym or just go and buy yourself a Vespa. Either way, stop whining.
None chinese?
F900 the pricey German bike with a Chinese engine.
Seriously a Susuki V strom is better than a Triumph 900 Rp or Gtp 😂, obviously you have a blinkered veiw of Triumph 😢
I haven't ridden it 🤣🤣🤣 it's absolutely not that deep!
@UsernameKate I thought I saw you riding one in Wales, bet you would've if it had a BMW badge on it 😂
I mainly rode the 1200 that day (which is in tomorrow's video) I rode the 900 about 100 metres back to base. Can't exactly comment from riding it a stones throw 🤣
I would have ridden it sooner I'm sure if i had a triumph dealer locally to me that didn't treat me like I'm only capable to ride their 400 range 👀🤣
@@UsernameKate Well Triumph did let you have the Tiger sport 660, surely that's big enough for a girlie bike .... 😂🤷♂️🤦♂️ *joking *
