Good Morning Friend, If you enjoyed this video you might also enjoy last year's Spooky Treat Video - th-cam.com/video/addW4FgPc_k/w-d-xo.html
I loved your baking from last year and kept it for my recipes.
If/when you can find the carmel bits (I had to order from Amazon last year because I couldn't find them locally) just sprinkle them on top of the pretzels along with peanut butter chips and put in a 300 degree oven for a couple minutes. They melt very quickly, then you can spread it around and then add your drizzled chocolate. The addition of peanut butter chips makes these turn out like a Take Five bar!
thank you!
Thank you Becky I watched it and added the finger cookies to my list of to make thimgs hopefully next week when I am better. But, still wondering why store bought brown sugar in the other cookie, instead of homemade? Just curious if there is a specific reason to buy it for the monster cookies?
@@lindseycassick4100 I think she had mentioned that she had it on hand already and it looked like she had used up the rest of her homemade brown sugar in another recipe. I’m sure you would rather hear directly from Becky, but just in case she is not able to answer all replies… 😊 hope this helps!
I love weighing ingredients because you don't have to use a bunch of measuring cups and spoons!! Saves on dishes and really doesn't take more time. Glad you are seeing the benefits of weighing ingredients. 🍪 🍪 🍪
I think Becky is hilarious.😅 How many of you all got a kick out of the smudge on her cheek. I could actually see 14 year old Becky running around cooking today. Thank you so much for all your lovely videos ❤😊" TO PRECIOUS "
LOL 😅
Me too. If I'm not mistaken there is a small smear on Her forehead.
🤣
She's absolutely adorable!!!❤
How is the little man. Doing I miss seeing the back of him. You are a go-getter. I wish I lived near you.. can the farmer send out some chicken back. I love them.
You can also use the heel from a loaf of bread in your brown sugar canister to keep the sugar soft. Your treats look awesome!
Great idea!!
@@AcreHomesteadi do the same with cookies when i want them to be solf
That’s what my mom did and I do also
I always have a heel of bread in with my brown sugar. When I open the container to use it, if the heel is hard, I just replace it with a new one.
that is how my grandma taught me to use
Hey Becky, I have been watching your channel scene 2020 and I still love watching you! It's almost as if you're really here. Thank you for always giving me new ideas on what to cook or preserve my kids enjoy watching and help me recreate what you show us.
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you enjoy them!
I found this channel in 2020 as well! It was so nice to be able to escape all the crappy things going on and watch Becky hang out in her garden and kitchen. ❤
Everyone loves watching becky she's so natural and very kind. And it's true what you say you actually feel as if you're in the kitchen with becky.
I have no self control, hence my baking is few and far between. My grandma was the cookie master especially at Christmas. She was known for her hand decorated Santa faces!! Frosting hat trim, tassel, mustache, and beard. Coconut on the beard. Current eyes. Red cherry colored cheeks. Red hat with red sprinkles..... Each one is a labor of love. My mom and I keep the tradition now it's just me. I love homemade cookies! Fun video! Thanks. 💙💛💚💜🐸🐸🐸😎
My grandson asked me today what cookies we were making together for Christmas this year. I told him I didn’t know yet I needed to see what Miss Becky did first.😀
Wow Becky, these cookies and treats look amazing! Josh’s work colleagues must love his contributions to work parties! 😊
Giving me ideas since my oldest is coming home from college for the weekend! Thank you for the inspiration!
Have so much fun with family!
Spiderweb tip: draw circle inside of a circle inside of a circle with the icing. Then take a toothpick and pull lines from the center to the outside of the cookie (like you're slicing a pie, but you're just pulling the icing). This will make a perfect web every time. Try on top of a layer cake too.
If anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative to the Modern black cocoa, Hershey special dark will give a very dark cookie as well.
A good way to get a flat cookie that you’ve rolled is to use the bottom of a drinking glass to press down. Gives a smooth, even surface.
my mom does that.
I found that once I got used to using the scale instead of measuring cups it was actually easier and I could often use no measuring cups at all!
I’m from England and we always weigh all our ingredients, even eggs! It’s always more accurate that way
I found your channel about 2 months ago and honestly you have changed my life. I meal prep every 2-3 weeks now and it's given me so much extra time with my 10 month old son and fiance. I've fallen in love with cooking again and we have a good homemade meal every day without the stress. Your dinner recipes are a huge success in my household! Thank you! Much love, Georgia from herefordshire England 🇬🇧 ❤️
Becky you've made me extremely happy by posting your video as I running apples through a sauce master ll. When I started at 9am, I was thinking how much I wish there was a new Acre Homestead video to watch as I can today. You've made my day!!! Thank you. Sending hugs. I hope you make a vodka infusion gifts video this year. Last year you inspired my apple and pear infusions. This year I started lemonchello, pear cranberry & vanilla bean and apple cinnamon infusions. Looking for more ideas from a pro.
I would have never thought to combine pear with cranberry, but that sounds amazing!
@@jewelsbarbie I will hear back how it was. I added a sliced vanilla bean in there too.
Im right at the part of the video where you are trying to open your black cocoa. Tip for the day...keep scissors in your kitchen and use them to open pretty much everything that you would tear open. Faster & easier.
I REALLY REALLY appreciate a time sensitive video such as this one. I know it’s really difficult to have up-to-date videos being released so I really appreciate this for my own Halloween activities.
They are so cute!
I would love to see you try making authentic croissants! I love you pastry and bread recipes so I’m sure you would do a great job!
I don't have a scale to weigh flour for a recipe. But I do use a tablespoon, an actual serving spoon to fill the measuring cup. I don't just scoop out of the flour container. This helps from having compacted flour also. Lorraine
We were taught in our cooking class to spoon flour into your measuring vessel to avoid packing the flour into the measuring cup. In doing it this way you get a more accurate measure. Love your channel, Becky❣️
When you bake, you need to measure out ALL of the ingredients exactly. That is how you end up with a good final product. It's not at all like cooking.
It's great to see you slow down as you bake all of your delicious looking treats. It really looked like you were enjoying the process.
The treats all look great! I didn't have much luck with the brown sugar bear, I just throw a slice of bread in with the brown sugar and that works best for me. Thanks for sharing!
Butt end of bread or a slice of apple if the sugar is VERY hard
Looks yummy Becky..im sure Josh's co-workers loved it!! It's super foggy and rainy there!!! Looks like the perfect spooky day for baking your treats lol
As a Brit - I remember being thoroughly bemused the first time my Canadian MIL started talking about "Cups" of ingredients in recipes. We always weigh and measure when baking, and you're right, it removes the risk of compacted/non-compacted ingredients throwing the recipe proportions off.
Good to see you weighing the ingredients...much more accurate. When you are piping a small amount of white chocolate from a bag, you can put some chips in the zip lock bag and put it in the microwave for a 10 - 15 seconds then just massage the bag in your hand and repeat to soften enough to pipe. If you cut with scissors you can get a small opening. The knife tears a larger opening than you may need. You can also reheat the bag and keep using the same one, and add a couple tablespoons of chips if more is needed.
Ohhhhh boy is your Son going to be so happy Mommy is a baker. He will definitely love cookies lol I know I would.😊🌻🧸
My baking has also improved since I started weighing! Its more convenient in a way for me. No fluffing the flour, spooning in the flour or leveling. Just dump and wait for the right number!
I’ll bet your house smells AMAZING❤️
Becky they are absolutely brilliant, so much fun.
Gosh I love your island with those deep drawers!!!
I was watching this video, and the Monster Cookie sparked the idea that for Christmas, you could switch out the M&M candy pieces for peppermint candy pieces. I love chocolate and peppermint. Peppermint bark is one of my most favorite holiday candies. Thanks for the inspiration!
This was Spooktacular! When you got to the part about being creative while doing your spider webs I was cracking up. I thought now that’s the way to be creative. They all looked suburb! Lucky Josh’s co workers. 🕸️🕸️🕸️🕷️
They look so yummy!! Look forward to when you post. Blessings to you.
Hope you enjoy!
Yayyy!!! So excited to watch! All the goodies looked so yummy on IG!
Yay! Thank you!
Omgosh! Such cute ideas. I loved your ginger cookies with the webs on them but the best part of that is your idea of snowflakes for Christmas! And I loved, loved your cute lil ghosts! Thanks so much for all the ideas
I keep a chip stick in my flower container. I fluff up the flour so it isn't so packed before I measure. I use it to scrape off the flour when measuring.
So cute. Can't wait to make those black cookies. Any chance you'll do some easy gift ideas for neighbors and friends for the holidays? Thanks
I think it helps if you spoon out the flour instead of scooping it out. So cute cookies.
I love your videos! Tip: There are different measuring vehicles for dry versus wet ingredients. Dry use the cups you use, but you need a different cup for wet. Mine are pyrex glass measures. They come in 1, 2, and 4 cup sizes. Worth doing a bit of research on that
I just bought a couple of extra large cookie sheets at Costco, and I’ve been using cookie scoops for several years. Little things make a big difference! I’m currently starting to plan my holiday baking, and after watching this video, I remembered that I need molasses. I always make some kind of ginger cookies for the holidays. I love your videos! My kids are grown and gone, but I have many happy memories of holiday baking with my kids.
No better day to make Halloween cookies than a misty, chilly autumn day! Good job!
I hope his coworkers really appreciate you!!! Those treats look amazing. Thank you for taking us with you in this culinary adventure.
Thank you for October treat recipes! Yums!
Hi Becky. I think you a joy to watch. I see you have trouble keeping brown sugar soft. I use slices of fresh bread in the container. Works like a charm.
BROWN SUGAR TIP. I keep a marshmallow in mine! I don’t know why it works, but it does!
Thank you so much for the video! I am going to use the monster cookie dough for Christmas it would make a great lump of coal cookie!
Becky, you can buy spiders at the Dollar Tree to put on the webs.
L❤ve the gohsts, so fun! I hope you fo a Fall snack video too.
So love your videos. Blessings to you!
Is anyone else just in awe of that view from Becky's kitchen window??? I am so envious of that view, it's just gorgeous.
I didn’t look to see if anyone suggested this but if you microwave your chocolate on defrost or just 50% power and your chocolate with warm easier and be more pourable
I just love watching you create
Becky, if you pipe a swirl on the cookie and run a toothpick through it the spider webs turn out much better.
Happy Thursday you 🎉❤
Here in the UK we tend to use the scales and weigh most of our ingreadients. Moost of our cookbooks do the ingredients by weight x
By the end of the video, you had chocolate freckles! The sign of true enjoyment in the kitchen. I can’t wait to try out some of these with my grandkids.
I’ve been with you since your very first video and your channel just gets better and better. A Becky video makes my day!
Really enjoyed watching this video. You had fun, so you made them with love.❤
Becky I'm a trained pastry chef those cookies are amazing.Simple ingredients.....WOW very elaborate and spooky. I'm so impressed how easy you make it look. I know it's really difficult to do so many different bakes.
I love your energy, your ability to breakdown the recipes to make them easier to understand and you make cooking enjoyable ❤❤❤ A huge thank you from Manchester England 🇬🇧 😊xjx
These are my favorite types of videos, holiday baking (the only thing that could possibly beat them are your breakfast meal preps).
Your vids are always a treat! I love the incredible variety of things you cook and bake. Today's recipes all had chocolate, which I don't eat, but the spiced cookies (minus white choc) look super yummy!
You can also put a couple of jumbo marshmallows in with your brown sugar to keep it soft. Just lay them on top. It works.
Love all your vids! Appreciate all the helpful hints. 😊Try loc n loc container to store your brown sugar if the bear doesn’t work. It really works for me
So adorable Becky - lucky people who received these treats
I have most trouble with icing when using measure cups, I have started weighing. Learned a lot from your mom in video around last Christmas. Thank you both.
A slice of bread in your brown sugar will do the same thing. When the bread hardens change out.
My homemade brown sugar always stays fresh and I can always have it when I need it. Just keep fine granulated sugar and molasses on hand. These cookies look yummy. I love having homemade cookie dough on hand in the freezer.
Good job Becky, everything looks yummy. When I make the muddy buddy's I put the powder sugar in a large bowl with a lid so I can shake it. Thanks for sharing
Sunt singura care apasă LIKE înainte sa vizioneze videoclipul? I love you Becky😊
No, you’re not 😂😂
32:04 what if you did the chocolate in a piping bag and drizzle it on that way just a thought for any future bars lol
Brown sugar is one of those useful ingredients that rarely gets used unless you frequently make crunchy cookies. That sruff clumps quick in storage and then youres stuck having to chisel it. I stopped baking altogether for a long time, but im thinking of moving house and will likely bake alot once i vet moved just to have things on hand when oeople drop by so im gonna have to break down and get thw brown sugar again. Ill likely bulk bake and freeze for later just to use up that brown sugar before it hardens
I use a sugar bear too. Before I found that I used a piece of bread on top of my sugar it worked too although people were puzzled why I had a old piece of bread in my sugar
Tried out the white chocolate spider webs on double chocolate cookies and delivered them to my friends, they were quite the hit! Love the video!!
Congratulations on your ever growing number of followers ‼️👍.
Thank you so much 😀
My Mom used to flatten her balls of cookie dough with a flat bottomed glass dipped in sugar. It saved the step of rolling each ball in sugar, plus made nice uniform cookies which baked evenly! Especially nice for thin crispy cookies, or for cookies meant to be sandwich style like oreos.
I wouldn’t omit the sea salt on the top of the pretzel bark. I know from experience that it makes a world of difference. When my mom makes it she puts the pretzels down first in a single layer, then makes homemade caramel that she pours over them, then just sprinkles the chocolate chips over top, throws it in the over for a few minutes then spreads the now soft chocolate chips with a spatula, and finishes with sprinkling sea salt over the top before putting them in the fridge to chill before cutting up. It’s delicious and always a HUGE hit at holiday parties. She even won a desert contest at her work’s Christmas party last year with it 😂
Happy Thursday, Y'all! 🦋
Good morning!
Just discovered your videos today- spent a good part of my afternoon watching them. You are so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing
, you are amazing !
Love it! So well done, everything looks delicious and amazing :) Thanks for sharing
So very glad to see you weighing your ingredients!! I’ve been trying to tell you how much difference you’d find in your final product for ages!! talking to the screen counts right!?! Lol. Good job. Now I just have to convince you to routinely use your instant pot for rice and pasta !
This video was so much fun to watch and everything looked so yummy! Thank you, Becky, I'm sure Josh's coworkers loved all your baking. 🥰
I really love these treats. You put your love into everything you do. These are cute and extra special. Love the ghosts on the bark, they're the cutest 😍
I have one of those brown sugar bears . I’ve had it for years. I never soaked it and it keeps my brown sugar moist and fresh all year round. I love it.
A trick for measuring sticky ingredients like molasses is to use the back of the measuring spoon and make an indent of it in the dough. That way you have a hole the size of the spoon you can fill with the molasses.
You do a fantastic job as usual, and thank you for having your puppy dogs in the kitchen. I really do enjoy seeing your dogs. Please do it more often. Love love love it.
I just recently found your channel and I am really enjoying watching them. The Carmel bark looks so adorable, fun and festive.
Hi. So I tried the chocolate monster cookies and did the recipe twice. Both times they were dry and hard. I realize that this isn’t your recipe but incase others are wanting to make the cookies. For the black cocoa powder for a single batch it should be 1/4 cup. I didn’t have a scale to use so I followed the direction as is. On my third attempt and making the change they turned out better. Thanks. Hope this anyone else who is trying to make for their kids Halloween party. 😅
Love watching you and Josh, how about a Q & A with Josh on an episode we don't see him much, hugs from GA
Brown sugar can also be kept loose with a piece of bread in the container. A piece of bread can also loosen brown sugar that has hardened, just drop in the bread and wait a day or two, maybe another day if its a huge container if sugar. I use the heal of the loaf. Old times solution from two of my grandma's and my mom. It really works.
Josh’s co-workers are very fortunate to be able to enjoy your amazing treats! Happy Fall🍂🍁
I have a food saver and I never have a problem with brown sugar getting hard or not staying fresh. I just seal my bag back up and it stays nice and fresh.
If you had black frosting, or brown you could put a dot on the Webb then put eyeballs. Would be a cut spider on them lol😊🕷️🎃
Love all the yummy treats you made they are all so cute. ❤
Also when I make cookie balls like your ginger ones, I roll all the balls first and then roll them in sugar. Mass produced! 😅
We had my youngest daughter's bday party last week and made a bunch of fun Halloween snacks. When you said nutty buddy I was thinking nutter butter cookies! 🤣 we used the nutter butter cookies and dipped one side in white chocolate and added eyes to make little ghosts!
When I make hot chocolate I add chips and both Dutch and black cocoa. You’ll never go back after trying this.
For spider webs, just do a swirl on top of the cookie from the middle to the outer edge then use a chopstick or toothpick and drag lines from the center outward all the way around. It’s much faster. I’m not a patient person. 😂 You did a great job and they all look so yummy. I can’t wait to try the black cocoa. ❤
This was such a fun watch! Spooky season baking always warms my heart. :)
Becky, you're hilarious. Those spiderwebs are hilarious. Good for you. I love it perfectionism is boring it gets old.❤
But I missed what she did to those pretzels. I guess I could Google it because she put white chocolate chips down on top of them and then the eyes or did she put a little melted white chocolate on top of them that's probably what she did. I don't think she showed that part.
Girl these monster cookies are amazing. I skipped the white chocolate and added a bit more m&ms. I can't wait to share them at the parties.
Great idea! Thank you
You are so welcome!
I love hearing your wind chime in the background 😊
