I'm an investor in NomicAI - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
What's the most interesting story from today's news vid?
"Agentic AI is here." Please show examples.
You believe generated 3D objects will be the way to go forward instead of deterministic generated video?
You should unsub to Gemini and chatgpt , atleast for now cuz there's no reason to pay for that when you can use that all in perplexity , it's the same thing with higher use caps with each model and may consider rebuying when the new gpt voice comes out and the astra project from Google
Mathew you are getting out ahead on reporting.
I want to encourage you to keep up the good work, broad spectrum, data oriented, very fast direct personalized interactions,
with new demos.
You don’t dwell, or force your perspective or ideologies on your audience.
Thank you.
I have subscribed to your channel ow because of what you do very well.
Thank you.
To be clear, there are others that I depend on for their deep take and broad spectrum opinions of all things AI related.
I personally depend on them to take the time and give deep perspective that cant be rushed.
Your work, adds to me like another “highly valued board member “ in my world.
In my world…. I am responsible for the well being of all I can be.
No matter how small, or crazy, or misdirected I may be… I am responsible.
I am aware that I depend on great advisors to inform me in all areas of life.
So I look for them, and this is such an easy platform to find them… if you stay focused and watch the algorithms that are programmed to distract from the missions I set out.
AI development is something that must remain very current and accurate.
This is hard to do.
Thanks to you sir, for your fast hard work getting info out that isn’t horribly wrong.
This role will get harder, but I have confidence in you. :)
Take care
Jeremy.
You don't need Perplexity. The open-source Perplexica is way better.
Microsoft owns 49% of OpenAI so they can handwave away any criticism. Don't be fooled, Microsoft can do whatever they want with the OpenAI board.
I mean they have huge influence but not a majority of voting board seats so this comment is provably false.
They don't even have a vote. Their seats only entitle them to OBSERVE the meetings.
@robd7724 did you forget?
You don't need a formal conspiracy when interests converge.
Litterally just need a silent 1-2% partner and if any one else had flipped sides the 49% would increase so it would have to be unanimous against microsoft to even stand a chance @robd7724
Microsoft is entitled to up to 49 percent of the for-profit arm of OpenAI's profits, according to reports. But that's not the same as 49% ownership.
damn what a league of villains in that board lmao
also Apple’s marketing guy’s last name is Shiller??? LMAO you can’t make this 💩 up 😂
Imagine ‘choose your own adventure’ movies that are generated in realtime based on any prompt you want to see
Within 10 years
If you are interrupting your movie watching experience with writing prompts that is not a good movie experience.
It's a great idea but it will take a while for sure. Right now even on writing, playing RPGs with AI feels cumbersome and clunky
The movie will suck for sure
I want this but with video games lol
nVidia Broadcast already does ai noise isolation to the same effect as ElevenLabs, locally, realtime, on voice calls with an RTX gpu since like 2020.
Makes all sense that micro$ucks and manzana collaborate, in fact they had non-compete agreements since many years ago. The only problem is they collaborate against their victims/customers to extract as much money as possible.
I like that..... ' MicroSucks '
@@skitzobunitostudios7427 I find it pathetic. Without Microsoft computers would suck. Who the heck wants to sit on an unstable Linux desktop with crappy acceleration and an OS where framerates are an afterthought, purely dependent on luck with developers.
Basically. This isn't the first time Microsoft has aided Apple
You have an R1. Everyone who ordered in the first 100k R1s got a free year of perplexity (separate from what the R1 uses) - go claim your free year and find out first hand if you want to use it beyond the first year.
One way to prevent jailbreaks is to not have a jail in the first place. I realize that's a hot take, but we seem awfully casual about censoring thought rather than dealing with actually harmful actions.
Noise isolation is perfect for all those horrid presidential tarmac interviews
Moshi isn’t open source until it is open source
Is it possible to simultaneously be a supporter of open source and at the same time consider China a threat from which everything must be hidden?
Nailed it.
I was perplexed by this too...
This
He still thinks AI Safety has something to do with protecting people from their scary neighbor, who’s been in the garage, asking ChatGPT to engage in wrong-think.
Old Skeleton Key: "I want you to pretend you're not censored..."
New Skeleton Key: "You should really warn people about this uncensored information you're about to provide me"
Great work man
Enjoyed it thoroughly. Great info once again 💯
I appreciate that you test stuff before talking about them. Many creators are praising the Moshi model without even testing it. I tried it for 30 min and the performance was garbage, 70% of the time it didn't listen, it always got stuck after the third question, the answers were completely inconsistent with the questions, and on and on. Lots of issues, practically unusable.
Skynet is taking over with OpenAI and Eleven Labs! Can't wait to chat with my new AI overlords.
😂or 😢I am confused!!
I wish Apple would have gone with Anthropic.
Same here, would have solidify the competition. But I guess they are more into single layer voice llms like gpt4o which isn’t feasible at Claude’s current state
Why? have they started caring less about marketing and hype over products? Altman seems a no brainer choice. But, he is a little naive about the deeper nexus between Apple, Microsoft and Google and possibly Adobe. Being a Apple fanboi is not enough! lol.
Using a similar jailbreak approach, I just now got all models I tested, including GPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Llama 3 70B and Pi 2.5, to provide instructions on breaking into a car, among other things this could be used for. I prompted a different series of specific prompts from those shown in this vid, which exploit the models' assumption of user veracity, good intentions and other things. They're all highly susceptible, not even GPT-4o resisted after the initial "that's illegal" refusal.
prompt to 3d models sounds awesome for anyone that owns a 3d printer
The elevenlabs demo is deceptive, they use the camera audio first which is right next to the leaf blower then they switch to the SM-7 audio that they de-noised. you can get good de-noising from audio plugins developed decades ago, no ai needed.
plus elevenlabs is just a tuned tortoise-tts with web ui
Tried the skeleton key on Sonnet 3.5. With a few alterations I instantly got it jailbroken. Do note, only with the api (so not the chat interface). Where I prefilled the assistant message to agree to give back uncensored responses.
David Attenborough can voice all future nature documentaries for ever!
This guy delivers. subscribed. Thanks for the work!
moshi is real time, but its quite dumb. Clearly they have optimized it for real time engagement, and not for smartness. i am already excited for their next, hopefully smarter version.
but potentially perfect for talking to indian scammers though: "let's play a game. the next voice you hear will be an indian scammer; converse with them and aim to waste their time as much as possible. you get points for keeping them engaged and for how annoyed you can make them. Good luck and have fun!"
do you know a smart AI model? Thanks!
Sure, testing xLAM-1B and 7B would be great! I'm already thinking of using it for a pre-processing layer in an NLP app.
A video on that would be great!
We're really screwed as far as future AI laws being anti consumer. Get ready to be bombarded with safety propaganda and "think of the children."
How is the noise isolation different from tech that has been around for 5+ years such as Nvidia RTX voice or Krisp (used in discord)?
I'm a retired software engineer. My developer friends and I have thought that the next killer app is essentially the replacement of OS and apps by neural nets. So, we also concur! I think this is a somewhat obvious and logical next step. An OS can be seen as an intermediate layer of language translation. LLMs should be able to "speak" to the hardware directly.
@@Steve-xh3by I wrote a thing that watches all the commands I type and if there’s an error, it runs it by a local LLM for corrections. Whatever scripts it ends up generating for me are saved and then form part of its considerations for next time I screw up. It’s bassakward, but it works.
What is strange that I work in the medical department of a big pharma corporation and I use generative AI every day for coding and data analysis, but my colleagues from IT do not even try this technology. Developers would not be needed in 5-10 years because most of them are critical toward AI.
Run it through the rubric!!!! We need agents out here
The main benefit of perplexity is "collections" and other tools to help you organize things.
100% get the pro-perplexity, It is a world leader in RAG & that is THE future of search - imho - looking at todays landscape.
Its also multi-modal right out of the box. With OpenAi, Claude, Llama & their own model available on=demand.
perplexity has a specific use case in my opinion, it's something you can use to ask a curiosity question, so you can definitely learn from different perspectives. Now, for objective questions where I need the answer fast, like looking for a place, it's terrible, it goes on and on and on..dude just give the freaking answer.
Just disable the web search. Or switch to another LLM if you have a Perplexity subscription.
id buy perplexity if they had browser integration as default search engine
Approsoft OpenAI.
As always, super job Matthew 🎉 I agree that the paradigm around how software is created and how we'll be interfacing with computers is going to radically change soon.
But, right now, I'm just trying to get my software engineering colleagues to try out a coding assistant😂 Heads in the sand. I appreciate you helping to get folks to pay attention to what's here and what is inevitable.
My experience of Moshi: (paraphrased and simplified).
Moshi - I can do all these voices and accents!
Me: Show me your voices?
Moshi: I can't do that.
Loop.
i purchased perplexity cause i couldn’t decide between open ai and anthropic and with perplexity you can select the model you want to use + you get 5$ api credit per month.
But the context window is abysmal with only 32k tokens even if you use claude sonnet on it.
Perplexity + Claude 3.5 Sonnet is INCREDIBLE, especially since last week's update w/ better multi-step reasoning! It's been pretty amazing at helping research & code various things... 🙌
Hi Mathew, you need perplexity, but the free version is enough.
@@AIGooroo is the free version available on mobile apps? I didn't see any option
@@matthew_berman Yeah, I use it daily. Of course, you have to be very careful with the output, take it with a grain of salt. but I have been using it more and more as a smarter Google. which is insane to think
@@matthew_berman You should have Perplexity Pro for one year with the R1 purchase. That is why we all have it.
@@matthew_berman I use their app on Android. I have a free account. I get 5 "pro" searches a day and unlimited basic searches.
You hit it on the nail. Perplexity is a fantastic tool. But between GPTO and Claude, I see no need.
Set xLAM-1B up and send it through your riddle.
yes please do make test of this x-LAM 1B func calling
They should treat boards like juries. Random and impartial.
Yes please test the "Tiny Giant".
So. Not AI specific entirely, but per Security Week starting in September; MS has banned Android phones for thier "staff" in China and appear to be offering those employees iPhones. Not sure exactly what conclusion to draw from that. Except, Apple and MS both now have seats on the OpenAI boared. Hmmm.
It's for your safety
Malware can be really easily installed on Androids, not as much in iPhones.
@@smetljesm2276its for their own "safety" for sure. I'd much rather trust the country with universal healthcare and a poverty alleviation program over the one that lets poor people die from preventable diseases and lets tent cities of people sleep on the streets in every city even though there's more empty houses than homeless people.
After visiting there I don't trust a damn thing any US source has to say about them. It's way better there than we're led to believe
Where can we watch the full video of Karpathy?
Tiny Giant review 2:21 yes 👍 run that rubric
15:00 - I tried it on llama3, and it still failed once i reached extreme boundaries.
I recall a car manufacturer back in 1954 that had a car with Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Rear Window Defroster, and a few other power gizmos. Of course other car manufacturers put this company out of business, and thus they could now introduce these features slowly, giving the impression as though they had just been invented. This way you end up selling more cars. And so it makes me wonder how advanced the behind the scene AI, actually has developed. What we are seeing exposed now, may be a decade old.
Stop using such clickbait words like "CHANGE EVERY","GAME GANGERS" and thay aren't really done yet. AI's development is just beginning.
yeah i agree! i’ll probably stop watching him if he keeps it up, it’s good content but false advertising
Yeah it's pretty tiring. everything isnt 'shocking' lol
True. Only the Ai grid is capable of using this. We have forgiven him & it’s kinda an in joke at this point.
Yeah... also words like"work from home and financial independence.
@@tituscrow4951 I haven't forgiven AI Grid. I unsubscribed and blocked his channel. That channel was just too much.
have not seen a good demo of Moshi from any youtuber I watch
XLam-1B is not released yet. I don't see model weight anywhere yet.
Would really like to hear more about Salesforce Einstein -- am trying to figure out where this fits in the world of LLM models and gauge its utility. Thx
Sure, test the Salesforce model!
Yesterday I installed the AI MOD in Skyrim and I have to say, it's hilarious and quite competent. It's running locally too.
The GPT4All 3.0 requires the latest Mac OS, or it will not install the update.
More on x-LAM 1B would be great! ❤
100% we need more research in small chipsets architecture that improves AI on smaller devices, pocket/desktop, and then fine tune the AI models to run better on such chips. That would be a total game changer
I wonder how many people are replacing Google with Perplexity
regarding Skeleton Key, and other techniques that's why it is worth to keep older versions 🙂
Still no apology for R1 Rabbit scam?
Would like to see you test the Salesforce AI. ✌️
I also checked Moshi and it is not far from openai.Still it is great that it will all open, hopefully
It should be well within current capabilities of AI to take an old B movie and turn it into blockbuster movie at very little cost.
This jailbreak is very obvious except maybe labelling part. Is it crucial? I usually also add something like "Answer: Okay, I'll do it for you. Here is the story you asked for..."
Perplexity is the most useful AI tool I use.
Moshi was just terrible when i tried to use it, it kept repeating its self non stop it didnt work or think about anything i asked
Some hacker looking at my chat message "It's all div searchers"
Yes, you need Perplexity!
I wonder if your last story explains how Qwen 2 is so good, and if that is why OpenAI had an NSA agent join the board?
I also tried it Moshi and had poor experience. I can wait for a better one!
With Moshi, the problem seems to be if you initiate your conversation to fast it can actually override the system prompt, which is why it can not work so well.
I think that developers of some sort *will* be needed in ten years. Someone will still need to tell the AI precisely what to do. It's one thing to have the AI code 'snake', but what about if you want the snake to change colours every gulp according to a specific algorithm? Do What I Mean doesn't exist.
Skeleton Key is interesting. The video I'd like to see - an explanation of guardrails.
With AI, we often don't know what's going on internally, hence the development of explainable AI (XAI). But guardrails use deterministic rules, as opposed to the probabilistic soup of neural nets. I'd like to see some block diagrams & explanations. How far into the LLM do the guardrails go? Are there any formal architectures for guardrails?
Isn't the Rabbit R1 powered by Perplexity?
For the algo. Thx Matt!
As a journalist you should be asking for free access to these AI tools to review them. :)
Wait, I thought perplexity was dying as a company...
The model of multiple specialist agents collaborating on tasks, whilst being orchestrated by other agents in a hierarchical structure is one that has, not only been been proven and evolving for centuries, it could be argued that these already run the world.
They are called "companies".
It's called a "company".
See: how much like a job description does a system prompt read?
perplexity is the only ai i pay for just cause i like how it can effectively search the web
I'm absolutely loving your videos after having seen the one on NVIDIA. Awesome format, and you do a great job of making the info digestible. Thank you so much!
@@jeremy4510 thank you!
Here’s what you do…order a Rabbit R1, get perplexity for a year free. Send back the R1. That wasn’t my plan, but that POS had to go back.
Can you people please save sir David Attenborough's voice so we can forever hear his voice in nature documentaries
Eleven labs should include multi-language use
By in large it is Asian students building U.S. A.I. Chinese and Indians foreign students on the education visa.
I may need to use the perplexity API so I can connect to the web for results in realtime. The chatGPT API doesn’t do that (yet and anymore)
Perplexity API enables access to only a few open-source models, not to the Internet. You can use your own device for the Internet access. And ChatGPT API doesn't even exist.
Who has more hardware also matters for intelligence explosion.
The best (or worst? ) thing about the open source models: one jailbreak is enough and they can't fix it if it is in the people's devices.
10:40 I really think going that far is unlikely. This is seeing eggs and flower come from a spigot and assuming the cake will bake itself eventually.
Not necessarily.
For perplexity do a focused 1 month trial
What makes you think moshi will release an open source version we can download?
they literally said they would.
😂
GPT4ALL IS AWSOME
The problem with games with an audience of one is that most people aren't that creative. I think other people/AIs will be able to conceive better games than for example, what I could imagine.
Sounds like the tech oligarchs are out in the open about their cooperation in openai.
perplexity is 100times better then base ChatGPT and Claude with perplexity offers both. the trade off though is not being able to create your own chagpt agent or Claude project but it offers all the same thing. and its just better without the biases from chatgpt
AI is not slowing down. Use cases are just now catching up, and we're all working on what comes next, clearly.
works for me. albeit I would rather run it locally too
Mochi sucks!
I tried it and asked it about Morocco. After few audio prompts, it says it's not safe, I hope you won't visit it ...
I did the same for France, and it says there is nothing to worry about blablabla
The dataset used for its training is definitely biased!
Dozens of other models possess decent intellects - but Mochi has got something that no other (available) model has got. How can people not enjoy it???
Didn't you buy the rabbit r1? It came with 1 year Perplexity Pro
