KvFv Productions Every poll I've ever seen ranks LT as the greatest defensive player in NFL history and it's not even close. One of only two defensive players to win NFL MVP. White Lott Deacon Butkus never did that. Only person ever to win MVP DPOY and a Super Bowl in the same year. Best player of the 1980s. 1st team All Pro the first 8 seasons of his career. Only Jim Brown is close. Most talented unstoppable and best player I've ever seen.
Stephen May Reggie white was not on LT’’s level. LT was better against the run and could cover receivers. And he was a better pass rusher too. He simply didn’t rush the QB every down like White did. Additionally, Taylor has to deal with a hell of a lot more double and triple teams. If LT played DE like White and got the same pass blocking he would have easily had 30 sack seasons.
I'm 62 yrs old, watching football since 12, and Iv'e Never seen ANYONE that had a Camera on them the whole game! The play could be completely away from Taylor and afterwards they would go to his camera to see what he was doing. No one comes close to this guy!
Growing up as a kid, when I first started watching football in '85, I would always think to myself..."Man, how many times they are going to mention his name in this game?" It was like that every game! He was a nightmare! REALLY WAS GUYS!
Gary Clutch Clark he didn't accomplish more than rice but he was definitely more talented. Moss is in the argument for most talented football player ever
When Moss went to the Patriots he was unstoppable, but Rice was good receiver in his early 40's. Forget about wide receivers how many football players were still good players in there late 30's and early 40's? the answer very few.
Lots of those NFL Films clips of him and his game quotes are from the VHS cassette “NFL’s GREATEST HITS” from the late 80’s. I had that tape forever and watched it at least once a week!
People forget he also covered receivers. Some of the fastest on the planet. And he chased them down! He was the best all around LB I ever seen. As it was like drafting 3 number 1 picks. Pass Coverage. Stopping the Run and Sacking QB's.
Mitchell Lee Ummm, I don't know what football you've been watching but the Giants have 4 Rings. And of course they don't have rings yet, they are still new to the league...
really really random but speaking of defenders, I thought Jevon Kearse aka The Freak on the Titans should be on this list. He had one of the greatest rookie seasons ever in general..Rookie record 14.5 sacks and 8 forced fumbles..That man was one freak athlete. He was a hell raiser that season.
Legendary Lawrence Taylor was dangerous 1981 nfl draft 1st Round 2nd overall pick out of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill he won both Defensive and Rookie of the year in the same season 1986 NFL MVP 2x super bowl champion 3x defensive player of the year as well
DOPY ROY DROY ALL-PRO Probably 30 tackles Took the number 21st ranked team to the playoffs singlehandedly Changed the position for ever Changed the oppositions' offensive schemes Top 10 defensive season of all time in his rookie year Number 3 in the list 😂
How can you put arguably the greatest defensive player of all time behind any wide receiver. If I am an owner or a coach I would take Taylor's rookie season over Moss any day.
Hav Risen in his rookie year no one knew he was going to be the greatest defender, we are only talking about rookie seasons, moss was a very big part of the offense that set records
Somebody needs to explain why he's number 3. Who the hell is number 2 and 1. There's never been a more dominant player as a rookie than he was. I didn't see this show but I sure would like to know who's ahead of him.
Joe klecko was robbed of 1981 defensive player of the year. 20.5 sacks to lead the league. His fellow lineman, Mark Gastineau, wasn't far behind him too
0:34 I've probably seen this clip 100 times but it still cracks me up when he tells him "you gotta do better than this" . Never gets old
best linebacker of all time

Reggie White is on his level don't be disrespectful to the man with 22 sacks in 12 games
Stephen May Reggie white was not on LT’’s level. LT was better against the run and could cover receivers. And he was a better pass rusher too. He simply didn’t rush the QB every down like White did. Additionally, Taylor has to deal with a hell of a lot more double and triple teams.

@@elbowgang9715 Lol. LT revolutionized the sport. Not even close bud
Best player ever
And he wasnt cocky, made clean tackles and respected his opponents, just look at when he ended Joe Thiesmann's career, and his concern.
Rick W respected his opponents? Lmaoo you clearly know nothing about LT
@@JL_Lux LT respected them in that he didn't want to play dirty.
Hunter Mattingly sending prostitutes to your room is not respect or playing clean
@@25pinstripes
It's crazy that LT NEVER had a rep as a dirty player. He played hard but clean.
@@JL_Lux You know nothing about LT he was not a dirty player so yes, it is accurate to say he respected the game and fellow players
Wins both ROY and DPOY. No other NFL player, on either side of the ball, has won both awards in the same year. And he's number 3. gtfoh
Trollsif Stalin exactly
Trollsif Stalin disrespected
........hey......Taylor won DPOTY his first TWO years in the NFL.
Also, 1981 that was the last year sacks weren’t an official stat. Had it been an official stat. LT would still be higher in career sacks than Strahan.
Who did they put 2 & 1?
"Son, y'all gotta do better than this."
Boss
I never get tired of watching Lawrence Taylor and Larry Bird highlights!
I'm 62 yrs old, watching football since 12, and Iv'e Never seen ANYONE that had a Camera on them the whole game! The play could be completely away from Taylor and afterwards they would go to his camera to see what he was doing. No one comes close to this guy!

REALLY WAS GUYS!
Mike Mercedes I used to say the same thing. He was my idol and on my team.
Those four dislikes are: Jets, Eagles, Redskins and Cowboys.
Toffee Crust nah man am a Cowboy but I know LT was the man I watch him play and was always amazed by how good he was I loved to watch him play
Toffee Crust don’t forget Bills
Broncos, Niners, and Bill's? Been.more since then...js...LOL
And Saints fans
And Patriots fans.
Should be #1. DPOY his rookie year and almost single-handedly gave the Giants their balls back.
Xavier Vega Brady brought the Pats to a SB in his rookie year and he ain't even on this list. so LT is good where he's at.
Eli hernandez No he didn't. That was Brady's second year. He rode the pine his entire rookie year.,
Eli Hernandez ......stop abusing controlled substances.
Joe Bendnigo and Mad Dog stating they would've put LT higer on the list. They are absolutely correct.
Now I want to know which to rank higher
Neither one a Giants fan but both New York guys that saw him every week, so they know what they're talking about.
Greatest New York Giant player of all time.
Greatest outside linebacker to ever play the game of football 🏈
This is the man that made me a giants fan, yes I'm that old.......big blue guy right here sun!
Greatest player in history period
As much that I can't stand the Giants but Lawrence Taylor "Aka LT" was the greatest defensive player that play in the NFL.
buster60341 that's right bih
buster60341.....arguably the greatest NFL player regardless of position.
They put Moss #1 to satisfy all the annoying Millennials who will never shut up about Moss being better than Rice.
Gary Clutch Clark he didn't accomplish more than rice but he was definitely more talented. Moss is in the argument for most talented football player ever
Gary Clutch Clark well Rice had better QB's and used stickum...
When Moss went to the Patriots he was unstoppable, but Rice was good receiver in his early 40's. Forget about wide receivers how many football players were still good players in there late 30's and early 40's? the answer very few.
LOL you ask 20 GM's to choose between a rookie Moss and and a rookie LT and 20 GM's would choose LT. No contest.
Greatest football player I ever saw
"Sure I saw Butkus play--Taylor's better!"
--George Young

Absolutely agree. His 1986 Season was surreal. He had the potential to take over the game every time he stepped foot on the field.
He definitely deserves to be number one he changed the way Linebackers played the position
Two NYG's on this list 🤙🏾 we know how to draft
Mitchell Lee Ummm, I don't know what football you've been watching but the Giants have 4 Rings. And of course they don't have rings yet, they are still new to the league...
Mitchell Lee what a moronic thing to say
Accept for flowers
Yeah Flowers is straight garbage.
Eli Apple
Another 1981 rookie All-Pro that should be on this list: Ronnie Lott.
Come on man....UNANIMOUS First Team All-Pro as a rookie.....both Taylor and Lott.
He was pure hell on 2 feet!!
#56 The best LB in NFL HISTORY! Changed the game
Khalil Mack + Von Miller = Lawrence Taylor :D
Greatest to ever play football
The GOAT
really really random but speaking of defenders, I thought Jevon Kearse aka The Freak on the Titans should be on this list. He had one of the greatest rookie seasons ever in general..Rookie record 14.5 sacks and 8 forced fumbles..That man was one freak athlete. He was a hell raiser that season.
um52 Kearse was mentioned on the best of the rest from the whole episode. Kearse was a force no doubt about it.
Julius Peppers might be another, but good call on Kearse. He was far better than I expected.
The best player in football history
LT WAS A BALL PLAYER 56 WAS MY MAN G -MAN FOR LIFE
GOAT
Best in history no other like him
#3! Hardly, Easily ###1!!!
0:57 Damn he went Harambe with that qb
Brian Baldinger is right we've never seen a guy as ferocious and as talented as LT in pro football ever and we'll never see it again
Once in a lifetime ballplayer. Redefined 3-4 olb.
wins DPOY and he's only 3 yeah right his rookie season was better than Moss's and Dickerson's foh with this stupid list
Odell Beckham Jr. #Odeezy #13Hunnit #OdellBlock agree
L boi if you don't get the f**k
Imagine of Taylor played on the 85 bears. He def would have set the all time single season sack record
That's incomprehensible.
Man that wouldn't be fair
If LT was on that team... 1, they would go undefeated
2, a couple of of the scrub teams at the time would forfeit.. Via masked injuries!!!
Gary Jeter was a solid D Lineman, and he loved Superman movies.
His horse collars were epic.
2:40 basically handling the defender and sacking the quarterback AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!
One of the NFL greatest that ever played defensive professional football!-L.T.
G.O.A.T. - Absolutely no question about it.
The GOAT. Period.
LT is the goat. He's handed out more PTSD's than any other player in history.
I remember me and my father and brother us to go to L Tees restaurant in jersey long ago
I heard Lawrence Taylor once sack the hulk I could believe it
No linebacker like him 🔥🔥🔥
1981/82 Rookie of the year 🏆
1981/82 DPOY 🏆
1981/82 New York football 🏈 Giants make the NFC playoffs
Goat 🔥🔥
I love how 90% of those highlights were not from his rookie year.
The clip from the ‘81 Giants highlight film stood out as number 16 narrated instead of Facenda or Kalas.
#1 Lawrence Taylor #2 Eric Dickerson #3 Earl Campbell #4 Randy Moss
Force of nature
To me, that was his best year. He didn’t have the defensive line or defensive backs after ‘84.
Gibbs was the one who figured out how to at least slow down LT… not stop him… but slow him down… creating the H Back
obj should be higher up ... he also only played 12 games
Legendary Lawrence Taylor was dangerous 1981 nfl draft 1st Round 2nd overall pick out of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill he won both Defensive and Rookie of the year in the same season 1986 NFL MVP 2x super bowl champion 3x defensive player of the year as well
BADASS😎
Nah!!! You got to put LT higher on this list. If he's 3rd, who's 1st?
Number 3 best player of all time... ok, but number 3 best rookie season,,, he should be either #2 or #1
I bet LT and Ray Lewis would make a good team
taylor is the best he is #1
DOPY
ROY
DROY
ALL-PRO
Probably 30 tackles
Took the number 21st ranked team to the playoffs singlehandedly
Changed the position for ever
Changed the oppositions' offensive schemes
Top 10 defensive season of all time in his rookie year
Number 3 in the list 😂
Coked up LT was the greatest player to ever put on a helmet...
What he did off the field never will take away his GOAT status...it was the 80's the whole country was on coke ..
New York football woke up bigtime in 1981.
How can you put arguably the greatest defensive player of all time behind any wide receiver. If I am an owner or a coach I would take Taylor's rookie season over Moss any day.
So would every GM and coach in the NFL. And it's really not even close.
Hav Risen in his rookie year no one knew he was going to be the greatest defender, we are only talking about rookie seasons, moss was a very big part of the offense that set records
Keep in mind they're both minimum top 5 of all time at their positions....so you really don't lose
Number 1 and number 2 better be Gods
Should be above Dickerson, at 2
2 those who dislike this I say "son, y'all gotta do better than this."
2:46 #68 still lays him out, he just lucikly fell right in the runningbacks path
Somebody needs to explain why he's number 3. Who the hell is number 2 and 1. There's never been a more dominant player as a rookie than he was. I didn't see this show but I sure would like to know who's ahead of him.
I didn't know LT was an outside
Odell gotta be there
"Bunch of crazed dogs" ...line of the year ...heh, heh, heh
3:19
How many defensive players win MVP most of the time it’s an offense of player if not all the time
Only 2 defensive players have ever won league MVP and LT was one of them
Only linebacker ever named NFL ROTY & NFL DPOY in the same season
Micah Parsons is about to do the same thing.
@@dwaynecali7155 Tj better
@@dwaynecali7155
Lol. Micah Parsons.
Joe klecko was robbed of 1981 defensive player of the year. 20.5 sacks to lead the league. His fellow lineman, Mark Gastineau, wasn't far behind him too
Lt haters that,s why they have him at number three
LT is always #3 in nfl Films lists. Like is it on purpose?
Gonna have to add Micah season
What about Ray Lewis
“Son, yall gotta do better than this”
Demoralizing
#1 ✌🏽😎🍻 BOTTOMLINE ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
sorry, #1
freak of nature. lol.
then in 84 they took Carl Banks lolz....
Mad Dog 😂
3?! Are you kidding me.....
Matthew 5:7
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Why is Cam Newton not on this list?
Zach Thompson he should be
Opposite Coaches are like, please do something stupid and drop him off into coverage.

Worth every cent.
Zion Williams resembles Lawrence Taylor a lil 😭

To think the saints could have had him..doh!!!!
