      KvFv Productions Every poll I've ever seen ranks LT as the greatest defensive player in NFL history and it's not even close. One of only two defensive players to win NFL MVP. White Lott Deacon Butkus never did that. Only person ever to win MVP DPOY and a Super Bowl in the same year. Best player of the 1980s. 1st team All Pro the first 8 seasons of his career. Only Jim Brown is close. Most talented unstoppable and best player I've ever seen.

      Stephen May Reggie white was not on LT’’s level. LT was better against the run and could cover receivers. And he was a better pass rusher too. He simply didn’t rush the QB every down like White did. Additionally, Taylor has to deal with a hell of a lot more double and triple teams.
      If LT played DE like White and got the same pass blocking he would have easily had 30 sack seasons.

    I'm 62 yrs old,watching football since 12, and Iv'e Never seen ANYONE that had a Camera on them the whole game! The play could be completely away from Taylor and afterwards they would go to his camera to see what he was doing. No one comes close to this guy!

    Growing up as a kid, when I first started watching football in '85, I would always think to myself..."Man, how many times they are going to mention his name in this game?"
    It was like that every game!
    He was a nightmare!

      When Moss went to the Patriots he was unstoppable, but Rice was good receiver in his early 40's. Forget about wide receivers how many football players were still good players in there late 30's and early 40's? the answer very few.

    Lots of those NFL Films clips of him and his game quotes are from the VHS cassette “NFL’s GREATEST HITS” from the late 80’s. I had that tape forever and watched it at least once a week!

    really really random but speaking of defenders, I thought Jevon Kearse aka The Freak on the Titans should be on this list. He had one of the greatest rookie seasons ever in general..Rookie record 14.5 sacks and 8 forced fumbles..That man was one freak athlete. He was a hell raiser that season.

    Legendary Lawrence Taylor was dangerous 1981 nfl draft 1st Round 2nd overall pick out of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill he won both Defensive and Rookie of the year in the same season 1986 NFL MVP 2x super bowl champion 3x defensive player of the year as well
