I think your channel is very good for the point I'm at in my learning. You tend to speak slowly enough for me to pick out individual words yet you give the options of more advanced lessons. Great going! I'm going to share your channel around a bit. X)
I just found your video browsing you tube. I LOVE THEM!!! I am from United States and am going to marry with a woman from Panama so I need all the lessons I can get. You speak slowly and that helps very much. I also can tell you are in love. I think I like that about your videos also. Best wishes!!!! Jim
languages that I'm studying are Spanish my best language other than my native English, Italian beginner but progressing quickly because of my knowledge of spanish which I'd say I'm in the Intermediate stage. German beginner. Even though English and German are in the same family it's clear how the germanic branch split into different theories of thought. Russian beginner however I feel I've mastered the grammar structure in my head which I studied first and Mandarin which is really interesting.
Gracias Adri. What happens is that we produce the videos freely, as well as the podcast. There is then a small cost if you want the info that backs up the video. That goes some way to pay for our time. Thanks for the comment, however. We really appreciate them.
because the grammar is based on eastern thought. For example most western languages are very specific in naming objects and I believe there is a mountain in China that has slightly different names depending on which season it's in. This is a clear indicator that chinese perceives objects by there relationship to what's around them contrary to westerners focusing on the object itself. The word population for example has two toned words to make the idea of population these words translate
I like how people use images to learn new vocabulary and as you know 2 or more words put together make sentences. Well what I'm going to incorporate in my studies is to start using the grammar of the languages I'm studying and write essays and the like but to quicken the my language learning I'm thinkng about putting pictures above each sentence to help me as well as get me to think in the language as I write them for example I see the car. If someone is learning english they may have a picture
great video. I don't have problems with the audio but I guess all computers are different. always surprises me how much I learn from reviewing with these videos. so many loose ends tied up. thank you
natureknowsnotofmercy Thanks, Nature. I have to darte la enhorabuena for working your way through so many videos. Estás en plan estudiar, ¿verdad? Muy bien hecho. :)
LightSpeed Spanish grx, estoy estudiando en argentina ahora en un intercambio de universidad. Por eso estoy trabajando mucho a mi español ... o, digo, castellano jaja :)
Loving these lessons. I think I might muddle up on todo derecho and a la derecha though if I hear it spoken, is there any way to make them easier to distinguish? Maybe some sort of mnemonic to sort of fix it in our heads??
+Logotha Ironsides The way to seperate them is to recall that the left and right are both feminine. La derecha la izquierda. Whereas, straight in is masculine. Derecho. Masculine Men never ask for directions, they just go straight on hoping to find the destination. Feminine women always ask for the directions. Left, right? Does that help?
into English as person and mouth. In china they count people by there mouths and not there heads! The word for computer also has two toned words combined together to describe the idea of Electronic brain. I recommend that people try to study the culture of the language(s) they are learning before during and after the process If you'd like to watch the east vs west cultural differences video just type it in and it should be one of the first in the list.
If you were having this discussion while pointing to streets on a map, people would get a lot more out of it and probably be much more apt to remember it. I know I would.
junior martin Hmmm. I really don't know of any. We use wordreference.com as an online reference. It has much of what you look for. Google now has a native voice pronouncing Spanish words. Perhaps you could use the two resources. spanishdict.com is also very good for this information.
Wow! Really! You guys study language and you don't have a good dictionary to recommend, I'm VERY surprised. I guess everything you need IS online now. :) I'm old fashioned and I love books, actual books that I can hold in my hand. Well you guys are great and thank you for the recommended websites.

I actually had to think a little about the see a car part because I wouldn't want to give the subtle implication of let's say the verb to look at for example because that would be misleading. The only problem is is finding the pictures I require. I don't like to learn what others give me but in a free thinking way. The
Bill Cosby I agree, Bill. Watch out for the videos that have "better audio" written on them. I adjusted the volume on some. It's still a work in progress. To improve things you can listen with headphones or earphones. That normally makes it better. I will endeavour to get the volume issues resolves asap.
The S pronuntiation is the same across the Spanish-speaking community. Perhaps you mean the 'c'? The way we pronounce the c (ce, ci) in Spain is exactly the same as you pronounce 'th' (think?) in your language. Obviously a silly sound too in English.

Your videos are awesome. Thank you so much for putting these up.
Tell us what you mean. Quedar is a very widely used verb, but we aren't sure what you are referring to. Gracias.
Great video, but I wish you had a easy, pictoral map to go along w/ it, so students could see and hear the directions.

Gracias por el comentario. Me alegro de que te sirva. Gordon :)
Because "derecha" has a strong "r" sound in it I use that as the memory aid to lead me to the word "right" as it begins with "r"
Great system!

Emily, these videos were made at a time when all I knew to do was to press the start button on the camera:) We were very basic.
Can you tell me where I can find a good reference book/dictionary that gives good data such as definition, pronunciation and possibly etymology?

Hi, where can I find the help sheets? Love the lessons.
You can find them in our website www.lightspeesspanish.co.uk :)
Do we buy the help sheets?
What about "Quedar"......?
Would it be wrong to say like: donde está la plaza?
That would be totally correct. :)

¿Sería confundido si usé esto en países de Latina Ámerica?

thanks for the videos, but your volume is wayyyyy too low and is nearly inaudible in all the videos

After learning and hearing American Spanish for so long, hearing the "s" pronunciation from España sounds silly
The S pronuntiation is the same across the Spanish-speaking community. Perhaps you mean the 'c'? The way we pronounce the c (ce, ci) in Spain is exactly the same as you pronounce 'th' (think?) in your language. Obviously a silly sound too in English.
Is someone snoring in the background? x)
Probably my boxer dog XD
