Medias love this stuff,they live on and thanks to those events and terrorists love medias. Be sorry for the poor decisions all governments make because of the money and private investors and companies. Life only worth what peoples invest on. I feel bad for the people of Nice because unlike cigarettes these people had no choice. With cigarette you always have option of stopping. You are right. Yes,there is oil,it's quite a clear color however. i was surprised myself after seeing the oil color through the little glass window level on the side of the engine wich is way darker. The bike do not start anymore....i was checking the valve adjustment.(two buckets are on the tight side) I've adjusted the air screws ,and had a nice steady idle. shut it off for few days ,and got back at it yesterday. no start !,only backfire and fouled plugs.... the injectors spray,the fuel pressure is good the ignition is working,nice spark and checked two times with the strobe light. i don't understand. i'm depressed now...
Dont be depressed, it can be repaired :-). Backfiring can be the ignition sparking while the exhaust valve is open or stuck open due to a bent valve or damaged seat, the exhaust is full of unburnt fuel. The phisical valve timing is important, but it would have to be a chain jump to make it that bad. Check those tight buckets, i bet one is the exaust valve. Was the mixture far too weak and burnt the valve edge, so it leaks all the time and the mixture would be way off. Sorry im no expert :-(, but the valves sound like they have a problem. If you have a compression tester that may show the valves are leaking.
I'm concerned about the two tight buckets. Like you say it can cause that. But the bike ran 20 minutes correctly while i was tuning it,the fan kicked in several times,spark plugs are sooty. That's why i feel bad,it too tight but it ran well ,even warm engine. I don't think valves are burnt (i hope) they are new and ran only 20 minutes maximum. I will test the compression tomorrow,and try to shim the buckets correctly. Thank you for your help : ) An exterior point of view is a good thing to keep the head clear in front of a problem.
As you know, im not deep into engineering, but the basics can get you a long way :-). Take your time and dont panic, if you panic then all logic goes down the drain, i know you will find the fault, i have faith in your abilitys :-).
So,i did a compression test,few minutes ago. There is 9 bars for each cylinder,wich is good,the manual say 8 to 10 bars. That mean valves are fully closed,air is coming correctly. I'm will try the old sparks plugs,maybe the new ones took too much soot while tuning it and trying to start it.
