Mate has a similar sized one. There's no stopping them going away for weekends away; they are just so suitable for that. Festivals, camping trips, city breaks; they do them all the time (in fact, him and his missus are up in the Lakes this very weekend on a walking tour). great video as always, Nick!

Lovely van, I have one. I don’t think you mentioned there is hot and cold water which is a real luxury. The Surejust hot water tank is in the rear cupboard. Hot water actually heats while driving so you have hot water when you arrive at your destination and then runs on 240v on site. There also a bullfinch shower attachment (the cover just visible on the right hand side view of the rear cupboard) very handy for wild camping with a curtain around the tailgate, or just cleaning the dog! Sadly we have decided that despite the benefits we need a larger van with a proper bathroom so will be selling in a couple of months.

I recommend you take a trip to Portreath in Cornwall to take a look at Ecowagon VW conversions. They have made some spectacular vans that I think you will be very impressed with.
These are just too small. If it's going to be van based it needs to be a LWB Sprinter or Transit - some of the DIY conversions are amazing, including a proper shower/toilet cubicle. Was there a table anywhere in this one? Would your partner ever use that toilet unless you were outside standing in the rain?
Unless one is bound and determined to buy a shell and custom-build something, this is quite the kit to have for long weekends or longer. Of course learning to "live small" helps by not packing 4-6 or 10 of everything along is helpful. "Wear-A-Day, Air-A-Day" for clothes, right?
@Motaholic - I've only just come across this channel having been an avid watcher of your Jeannau Leader videos (of which you've now finally swayed me over my original choice of a Sealine S23/24 due to the extra width of the Jeannau) - I've owned a self converted T5 for several years now and can watch these T5/6 videos all day long getting new ideas on the never ending build process. I wonder if you and Marianne could do a combined T5/6 and Smugglers video, maybe a cruise down the coast to Cornwall in Smugglers and then pick up a rental T6 somewhere in Cornwall for an inland tour... just an idea ;-) Looking forward to the Salvage Rebuilds video too when they get round to it - is there any channel you're NOT on? :-)
They are VW conversions by a company in Derbyshire England I think. You can get the VW California can’t you? There must be American companies that do conversions too?
Always enjoy your videos, but these vw's can not be described as a motorhome they have no separate shower/toilet compartment so they are no more than a day/weekend van and for 50 thousand they are very very overpriced for what you get.
My best mate owns Southside Car Audio and Rimshine in Southampton. We enjoyed the VW Golf Gti scene in the early 90s to date. Although he's owned nearly 40 plus gtis down the years. He has a real passion for T5 or T6 conversions. He's in the process of selling. It's an amazing project, like all the others he built from scratch.
What are you’re thoughts on buying a non ev at this stage, assuming more and more councils bring in emissions charges for non Evs do you think the extra running costs will kill off second hand market therefore making these expensive dinosaurs in just a few years? What is the state of ev motor homes ?
I think we'll need a viable charging infrastructure capable of dealing with ALL of us plugging in every day before we can lose ICE powered vehicles. I find it hard to believe that we'll see such a thing in the short or even medium term.

A big spacious car that easy to drive and park but comfort levels are basic and there is no toilet 🚾 or shower ( the porta thing is not a toilet 🚾 it’s a bucket with a lid ) . In my opinion there are 5.5m to 6 m Campervans and narrower Motorhomes that are proper comfortable spacious vehicles for living in that are small enough to drive and park easily for the same and less money 💰. Vw campers overated but people pay for the image

SWB T6 here and it was cheap enough to get the wife and I shortened, now we can genuinely park within a car parking space unlike the LWB or more frequently the dickhead in the lard arse German SUV that invariably parks way to close to our tiny holiday home.
What a great compact camping solution. The only thing you have to leave at home is your dignity, with the porta-potti arrangement.

Diesel. 190hp and 400Mn or so. Enough power for that van.
that ones a 2.0 110, they do 110, 150 or 200 in the UK.
110 will sit at 80mph happily all day fully loaded and is thousands cheaper than a 150
