My surron only gets 25 to 30 miles range and that is in economy mode. Much less in sport mode. Not enough range even for casual family riding so looking for something to get 50 to 60 miles of casual family trail riding. With the surron, I mostly ride it by myself and do out and back rides in the mountains so i can turn around at 50% battery. Loops are stressful. Ha. Ride my gas dirtbike with others. Will get a freeride or zero this year to get the range i need, but looking like the ktm freeride won't get enough range, which is a bummer because I prefer it over the zero.
Sort of bummed about the 220 power required to charge. Not sure what that means for a generator. I talked to a dealer in Dallas and he said these bikes are being bought by folks who ride on their own land and ranches and can come back to the house/shop and plug it in. I would probably buy this for my ranch and use it as a ranch/farm “tool”. Use it to check on the cows and fences and deer feeders.
Yeah it makes it a bit harder to charge. The battery is removable so you can charge it in a different location then the bike. It is the perfect hop in and rip around bike.
Not worth it, i had one. Takes too long to charge and filling a generator with diesel is more expensive then filling a gas bike up. Also defeats the purpose of a ev-bike to use a generator to charge it😂. I sold it i regretted it after i rode it for 11miles and it was dead and waited like 2hrs before i can ride again cuz i didnt bring my gas bike with me as well
