5 Great Textures Using Wire - EASY TEXTURE TRICKS!

  • Ann goes treasure hunting around the garage and junk drawers looking for wire to texture her pottery. What she finds are basic items that anyone can use to create and apply unique textures to pottery. This video will spark your imagination as to how you might use wire to adorn your work! Enjoy!
NOTE: The glaze used for the carrot dish is Amaco Celedon Smoke, NOT Storm as the video indicates. You could probably get a pretty cool finish with Storm however :)
Answers to questions we get all the time:
We typically bisque to Cone 04 and fire to Cone 5-6
Ann typically uses Standard English Porcelain no. 365 unless specified otherwise in the video

If you would like to BECOME A MEMBER of the the LSP Research Facility team and earn a cool title that you can put on your resume, we invite you to hit the "SUPER THANKS" button or the "Buy Ann a Coffee" button to help us unite the world through pottery. We so appreciate how generous you have been recently! It has helped us upgrade our filming gear to produce (we hope) better quality videos for you. THANK YOU!!

Ann also creates sought after custom mugs that she paints exclusively for individual clients. If you would like to learn how Ann paints with underglazes - check out her Video Workshop Series here. These workshops are very detailed (typically 1.5 - 2 hours in length) where Ann provides step by step instruction and are designed to help potters take their work to new levels of craftsmanship and artistry. vimeo.com/show...

Oh Anne you have outdone yourself once again!! Do you know how amazing you are? Seriously these are so easy! I got a bunch of different wires from a clay friend who had guitar strings! Can’t wait to find them and use them. Lol.

I think the most dramatic one is the dowel+that looped wrote. That's all beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

That trick of running the wire under a rod that made divots in the clay at 8:15 is brilliant! It looks fantastic and is hard to figure out how it was done.
So many great ideas, as usual! Thank you.

Anne, as soon as I saw this project, corn on the cob holder jump into my mind. With little notches at the ends they all ready to go. Make them stackable and they can fit anywhere you put summer paper plates. I showed my wife and NOW I have to make them. Thanks😂

It tastes SOOO much better that way. Seriously, I found that recipe while working on our Testing Handles video - check it out. It works great as clay glue - not sure of the science behind it however.
