at 9:21 you meant the back foot right ? not the front foot. This is the most detailed explanation I have ever seen. It's almost a physics class

Thank you. The rotation here was in the front foot. Kind of like following through, after you’ve made the board flip.

@@NormanWoods Ok, thank you. I'll do it with the front foot

This is dope because i'm learning this now. I also think if somebody is learning a backheel, And they don't know the difference between toe and heel side, That's a little crazy. Great explanation loll

It might be a little crazy for sure 😂 Just want to be thorough, to help as many as I can. Thank you for watching and I hope you land it soon!

just to add to your log, i find bs heel way easier than bs flips. i have a lot of trouble controlling my bs flip rotation and find the only way i can get them to fully rotate is if i try to get them to fold but it feels more blind to me and makes it hard to land idk i cant explain it well

Hi Norman, I couldn't find many videos nor suggestions about first tricks that beginners should learn to look and feel more confident on the streets and skateparks. Kids often go with tricks that look the coolest to them, often forgetting to get the basics right, some go to 360 flips before they learn to ride fakie, and many are neglecting nollie and switch that will enable them to progress faster. Some tricks are also easier to learn on pyramids than on flat or down stairs. Your videos are great, this is just something that I saw missing on TH-cam.
I'd also like to mention one thing related to skateboarding culture: making and unlocking new spots for skateboarding is as important as learning new tricks, if not more important for local skateboarding community. You might not have such need in California anymore but I believe that every skateboarder can do something to make their neighborhood and community more skatable, especially when such places unlock opportunities to learn new tricks.

I land varial flips pretty easy but I land like a little kid for sure haha.. sometimes I put my hands down and my board powerslides away from me. I also actively try to land ollies more knees bent because I'm kinda a stiff skater. Last week I ollied over a parking block a bunch of times and slapped my tail into it a few times too. My ollies are not great but since months ago I noticed if I do the run up crouching, I can then crouch again to jump and I can land on a small ledge with my knees more than bent enough. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Also sometimes people open their shoulder a bit in videos to get onto like a handrail but for ollies, you can stay pretty square with the board and natural knee position just slightly bent. Backside heels for me are a trick I try without a lot of commitment but to really get it, requires practice. I can heelflip a lot easier too if I just kick past the edge of the board on the concave but that's too easy though!

Thank you! Using the Sony a6400. Mic is the AKG D5, and it’s going through eq and compression from the Tascam Model 12.

Thanks for letting me know. I hope more skaters chime in and log which is easier. Be cool to have a little sample.
