This Tune is THE ONE most favorite of all c64 musics ever. Never encountered a soundtrack for a game longer than 3 minutes and looping then. This Game, simple as can be Tetris, only pointed by great Graphics and an outstanding 12 Minute Soundtrack. Spend Hours listening! Great that someone got the Potential of this song and ported it!
Interesting. When listening to actual 8-bit music, everybody has a notion how it supposed to sound without the restrictions of the chip. This is absolutely not the way I imagined listening to the original piece. But nice to hear how other people thought of it.
Of course the original is better. But you (or anybody else) can't do anything to make a better version to the original. But this remix brings the atmosphere of the original, and of course, it's not from a SID chip, and it's made 22 years later, so the instrumentation sounds more fresh. Thank You so much!
Pointless to say "original is better" - a totally obsolete and useless statement. Save your breath next time... NOTHING will EVER be able to compete with Beben's version. This remix is very good, because Sami tried - and succeeded! - to get as close to the original's atmosphere as he could - very well done, man! Now, please go and try Terra Cresta ;)
You just don't respect people's opinion. Some people just prefer chiptune over orchestral stuff. I honestly am not a fan of this remix because it doesn't really capture the spirit of the original for me. I actually made my own version because nobody did what I wanted so I did it myself.
I think you will find that in 2013 when he uploaded this music, non commercial clips were still restricted to a 10 minute limit. Hopefully, he will have released the full version by now.
This is good but incomplete. The original piece (approx 30 minutes) is modeled after the classical sonata form (ie exposition/development/recapitulation and coda sections). Here, just when the musics enters into the development section (which is the best part in the original as the musical theme is restructured and changed) this version breaks off. Pity.
