David honestly is a reminder to me there are people with good hearts and childlike wonder who'll be there and wish to see your ideas come to fruition. It makes me think he probably has always had a sense of wonder and crazy ideas himself.
David is that one character everyone loves and zero people hate. Whenever David comes on screen, everyone goes crazy. How about we make a:

David should come with me to work one day. I’m a USN/USMC flight test engineer. You want to see jets? Ummm, I play with power every day. I could get our PR group to do a personal tour. Just Google Patuxent River Naval Warfare Center. We test everything for the military with wings. Nothing cooler than standing 20 feet away from an F/A-18 in afterburners to be catapulted from a land based catapult. 0-130 in 75 feet. I used to take my son out of school on the days they were doing CATS/TRAPS. Oh the F-22 was mentioned. We test the F-35 at PAX.

When the engine smokes out, I'm surprised no one behind you literally died from a pile-up. Would have been nice to find a track somewhere to give it a proper (and safe) go!
The frewway in chicago is a safe place imo
I've seen cars put out more smoke than that with a blown head gasket. It really wasn't that much smoke, and you can clearly see it dissipating quickly, it doesn't even fully obscure the objects behind it. If that little bit of smoke caused you to crash or seize up your brakes, you shouldn't be driving at all.
LMAO seeing my comment about david and his bluetooth earpiece on screen at 0:39 had me dying. But I have come to love David... bluetooth earpiece and all.

I'm a bit shocked you used this on public streets, and in the city no less. There were many things that could have gone wrong and numerous public safety hazards even if it didn't. Once I realized you weren't going to a track/drag strip/runway, I fully expected the police to make an appearance or two.

I someone who has almost bought one of these types of engines I gotta say, getting one micro turbine is expensive, time consuming, and a bit risky. So that fact that these guy managed to get 3 of them, put them on a truck, have them run, and do it pretty well is absolutely astounding.
*I cannot even fathom driving down the road and seeing a micro-truck with 3 jet engines strapped to a GoKart on the back making the most horrendously loud noise LMAO*
Idk what's more amazing, putting 3 jet engines on the back of a k-truck... or the fact you decided to run it in the most congested interstate smack dab in the middle of downtown Chicago XD
You're killing me here. I've already spent way too much money on my kei sports car. My wallet can't handle adding jets to it...
I wouldn't be running the engines on public streets where anyone can walk right behind them and get burned to a crisp in an instant if they weren't paying attention- that's a little on the silly side. Definitely need to do this on a test track and get some reliable speeds with and without jets running...

I work at a GMC dealership, we have a K truck. It gets used to haul engines, transmissions, large parts in general, sometimes it'll tow a 2500 or 3500... it's hilarious though. Stick shift, it runs awful, never mantained. Between that and our Toyota Forklift we get all our lifting and hauling accomplsihed.
I wish I could see that hauling down the beltline :D

A: You're like my favorite TH-camr now. One random suggestion and two videos on far-out ideas I had as a little kid, but never told anyone, and didn't have the means to test. My mom had a lot of plants, and my dad is a pilot.

Sick, ya Matt mentioned you were working on this project when I talked to him a little while back. I also put a jet engine on my Kei truck. It is only 1 jet engine, but it is big...
What's clogged up is the intakes of the turbines. Ya ever see a full size jet with anything in front of the inlets? Try a PVC duct to direct clean air into the inlets. That'll boost the performance and efficiency.

I had a stupid grin on me for pretty much the 2nd half of the video.
The vehicle combo reminds me of the stickers on obnoxiously loud 2 cylinder motorbikes that say "loud pipes save lives". It must have been so incredibly loud following that little truck.

Noise or sound pressure levels from such little engines one of the reasons few consumer products feature this technology & largely in the niche hobby space & military domain for long range drones or cruise missiles etc
Turbine powered helicopters are the only widely produced commercial product featuring prime mover shaft drive turbines that an individual with deep pockets can purchase, fuel, insure, fly with a special previously acquired pilots license out of an airport. Sadly these are very expensive as in millions of dollars and cost thousands per hour in operating costs and end up costing hundreds of thousands in out of pocket costs to park, store, maintain, service by professionals, fly, operate. Not exactly practical for a grocery run or to commute to and from work lol

Shaft drive turbine from a helicopter like the Y2K motorcycle or Jay Leno's custom turbine super car // would make way more sense to drive a K-truck at highway speeds with decent acceleration. Moreover using the turbine as a power generator (see aircraft APU) aka Range Extended Electric Vehicle REEV such that a beefy 500vac polyphase motor drive system the prime mover while batteries & super capacitors buffer the DC to AC inverter action at 100kw or so for start acceleration while AC from the APU then transferred directly to the motor for sequential drive // hope these ideas help make a dope version of this toy you made in this video
Not to be a buzzkill but this seems like a better idea for a test track. Seems super unsafe, especially with the smoke screen it threw out behind you at the end, not to mention it being a public nuisance. Take that thing somewhere safe where you can really open it up

I don't know if it's safe to mention this or not... But there's auction sites where you can buy much bigger, much more powerful jet engines. That would no doubt be a massive project though, where you'd likely have to rebuild most the k truck to ensure it didn't just instantly tear itself apart. I really want to see a car channel do this now though, massive jet engine, tiny truck. :P
