- I drew an illustration and its got a background and everything and I totally didn't skimp out on it or anything, who am I?! Hahaha, I did get a little lazy at the end, but it taught my a very valuable lesson. When you put this much effort into something, don't get lazy at the end. Simple as that. hahaha
Also I won't be posting over the weekend, I'll be busy celebrating Christmas with my family, hope every has a wonderful holiday and I'll see you next Tuesday! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 🎄

hehehe, i laughed when I was editing this when I said 'i'll call her Mandy' and then never mentions her name again. XP
A little tipp for the perspective lines: the horizion line (the straight horizontal line) is where the viewer's "eye level" is. Everything you draw underneath that line will seem like you're looking down on it, everything that's above that line will seem like you're looking up to it.
I hope this tipp can be helpful to some people :)
That’s actually so smart! It’s super hard for me to remember the way the horizon line impacts the way you view things (perspective is difficult for me in general to be fair), and this is such an easy way to remember it without having to go all technical with it! Thank you! :)

I would recommend avoiding perspective when starting and doing natural backgrounds. For me It made it easier to start??? Hope this helps a little!

@@drawingwiffwaffles drawing perspective can be very simple, at school the art teacher taught us. Start with the horizon line then create a point On ThE lInE. That will be where the perspective starts. If you want to be looking up then draw above the point, if you want to look down, draw below the line. You can also draw in the line of above and to the side of you want a side perspective. Then instead of making a grid you draw a shape, a rectangle for example, and make the lines on the side all lead back to the point. This is a little difficult to explain without showing but you also don’t need two points for a perspective, it’s actually easier with only one.
I’m sooo excited I’ve had art block for months from stress and this always gets the creative juices flowing :D

I think a big difference between the vibe of the thumbnail and the finished illustration was the lineart. The lack of lineart on the siblings seemed to add to that blurry look of behind a window but still part of the scene while adding lineart to them seemed to pull them in closer and separated them from the rest of the outdoors and changed some of the focus of the piece. It was still super cute both ways but that may be part of what feels off about the final.
This was so adorable, this drawing has really inspired to me try and draw more backgrounds 🙂😊

Have you ever tried lining your art with black pencil crayon or even coloured…it looks really good and it is way less stressful and forgiving if you make a mistake… love your work x

I love it when you do full scenes and backgrounds, and I think you are doing great with your persective drawings, it's one of my worst things ever. Ask me to draw three or four straight lines that make sense and I make a mess of it.

With the perspective, the horizon line is the height of the viewer. Like if someone was watching your scene, thats where their eyes would be vertically. Awesome video as per usual! ^^ Love, from Sweden

About six years ago I started to slowly lose interest for art, and completely lost any interest in it after my mom died. I didn't want to draw or paint or do anything related to art, because she was my biggest supporter. After I found your channel I got inspired again.
