So excited for this! Brubaker and Phillips are my tippy top favorite comic creators out there, I have nearly everything they have done and can't ever get enough! But I just saw news of them starting a TV series for the Criminal comic series, which I'm VERY scared for......if they aren't directly calling the shots for the show and how it ties directly to the comics, I don't have high hopes. I've seen so many comic to movie or TV shows that change so much which makes it not as good for me. The 2 comic to movie/TV series I've seen that stay faithful to the source are Sin City, and The sandman. Both were nearly shot for shit and exactly the same dialogue as in the comics without changing too much. Those were insanely good, but I hope if they continue to pursue a show for Criminal, they don't change things alot simply for the readers that have already read the books, it needs to stay almost identical to the source material for it to be as good as the comic. Walking Dead, Sweet Tooth, and many others have tried to change things up and it may work for people who didn't read the books, but are seeing the show for the first time into the story....but for the comic fans, changing so many details really disappoints us! Please don't do that if you read this! You guys are the best duo in comics and I would hate to see your work brought down as it translates to TV and the need to accommodate certain people and be politically correct, etc. Just use the same story you wrote for the book and all those details for the TV show, it will be a thousand times better and more appreciated!
They ARE directly calling the shots: Ed B (who has a lot of experience with TV already - Westworld and Too Old To Die Young) is the actual showrunner and is adapting the comics himself variety.com/2024/tv/news/amazon-prime-video-ed-brubaker-criminal-1235865375/
The best duo in comics.

How white are Bru's teeth? I can see my reflection.
Brubaker, as always, interrupting Phillips.
