- We're checking our Skygerfall which is a mod that puts the entire main quest of Daggerfall into Skyrim! I tried to adjust the brightness in post but it still came out a bit dark in parts so apologies for that.

The bandits in those dungeons are actually fellow adventurers who got lost and decided to start a new life in Random Castle Ruin.
They could've just called it "Dagger'im", which coincidentally is also how I end up solving every conflict whenever I make a stealth build
Most of these have the played game as the first part, so that would be Skyrim played in Daggerfall

@@elwiseguy69 Not really the same as in future games. You don't really assassinate people like a ninja, but the dungeons are so big and so filled with monsters that it can be useful to avoid encounters by sneaking past. I think it also helps you avoid being ambushed while resting.

fun fact: the Argonians were the only race to not only single-handedly make the daedra fall back, but also manage to dominate parts of Oblivion during the Oblivion Crisis. The argonians were so succesful in fact that the daedra had to close the Oblivion gates themselves to prevent the Argonians from dominating even more territory.

I love how the Queen told you what she would give as a reward before you agreed. It always felt ludicrous in Skyrim that you agreed to do whatever anyone asked, without ever negotiating the reward beforehand. I would never have given that amulet of Arkay back to the priest if I knew he'd only pay me 15 gold for it.
To be fair, that "Quest" is so ludicrously easy a child could have gone in there and got it for him. Skeletons are like one of the weakest things in existance, and there are like 3 in there. Big whoop. I would say 15 septims is very fair when he could probably have just gone in there and punched the skeletons back to immobility himself XD

Starting with an Ebony Dagger was a nice touch
As a Daggerfall fan this is impressive. I love the little nods to the og like starting with the ebony dagger and how they voiced the lines from the agent and the queens quest to see her mother in the wrothgian mountains exactly to my memory. Wonder if they made minnimarco and the glenmoral witches intimidating, something oblivion and skyrim lacked sadly but I still like those games for what they are. Only thing that I don't like is the lack of npcs walking around. Part of Daggerfalls charm is immersing yourself into cities and the lack of people hurts that feeling. I say that as someone who started playing the game in 2018 so it ain't nostalgia for 2d sprites, I think the game just did it very well
Well said, Devin! I also love the populated cities in Daggerfall. And I also only recently started playing haha. Im using the Daggerfall Unity version and I am completely immersed. I can't believe how strong the writing is in this game! Everyone needs to experience Daggerfall.
@@randalthor6872 the most unbelievable thing about it is that it still has a modding community lol but yeah the writing is actually pretty good. Its like a taste of what morrowind would be with the political stuff going on in the game and yeah i think every TES fan should at least try it. Its an utterly broken game where if you go with the wrong build you have to use cheats on some quests but despite that the sheer ambition on display in that game made it age like a fine wine which is why its my favorite in the series.
The guards should say, "Halt, halt!" Otherwise, it's not my Daggerfall. JK this looks awesome.

The fact that you named your character Jamiroquai is beyond awesome. I love you so much more now. One of my all time favorite bands.
One thing I oddly miss about the old Daggerfall that was not in the rest.. Not only could you become a werewolf, but there where other ones you could become as well. Like a werebore or a werebear for example. Though sadly their in game stats where basically the same. it was just a model change if I remember correctly.. It has been years since I played it though.

4:06, about the saber having longer reach. I've just tested it and the range for all one-handed weapons is the same. The only difference is between two-handed and one-handed. Two-handed have slightly longer reach (about half a step of a deafult height Dunmer) while hitting NPCs and way shorther range when hitting objects.

This mod actually looks really cool. I recently completed a playthrough of vanilla Daggerfall, and the number of things that are the same shows a high level of dedication

I'm glad to see there are a lot of fellow olds who remember Daggerfall. I was incredibly young when it came out and didn't get a whole lot out of it, but I do remember that it was...well, it was just a different time in gaming. Completely unforgiving, no hand holding whatsoever. Just brutal, and the dungeons were no joke.
The fact that levitation and teleportation spells are just a casual add is wild to me
playing daggerfall in skyrim naming their character after a band who made a song called "virtual insanity" ... perfect.

Damn, they really did make it look like Daggerfall.
It's pretty bare bones because it was more about role playing, but that makes it feel even more like it's a much older game, the custom spells are a nice touch and pretty useful in the main game.

this looks awesome! reminds me of Might & Magic VI and VII expesially with the dungeons. Something about the general angular shapes and the textures. Mostly VI because the map and the dungeons were the biggest between it, VII and VIII

@@Cybetrexs He was under the impression that they made custom meshes to replace the Skeever with a rat rather than just using the vanilla skeever model. Thinking it wasn't just a retexture. When in fact it is just the vanilla skeever poorly retextured to look like a rat.
