My parents lived here for 48 years. I grew up here. Beautiful house, unrecognisable from the house I knew but sure its a great job and perfectly suited to family living now. So many happy memories there.
It’s such a beautiful property that has been so well restored to keep the characteristic features and enhance it for family living. The plot size and history of the house and cottage is amazing too.
Gosh this must be very weird you seeing your old home on TH-cam, especially as your parents lived there for 48 years, that's almost half a century,... it must have brought back a lot of memories for you seeing it randomly up on the screen,... I think I would have found it quite sad if I had seen my old family home on an estate agents video,... and it would definitely have brought up lots if mixed emotions...
My parents were divorcing in the 70's when my mum died of a heart attack,... my dad couldn't stand to stay in the family home, because of guilt I think, so he sold the family home very quickly,... it was a large house very similar to this one,... I have mourned losing that house for over 50 years, as it was my home,... my mum had died there, my granny had died there, my family pets had died and were buried there, and I just felt like the home was part of me,... I'd always hoped that the families that have lived in it since have loved it as much as I did,... I have always wanted to return just once to be able to walk around just one last time with my memories, and say goodbye to a few ghosts if you know what I mean,... I hope seeing this house for you was not too sad, and that it brought back some happy memories for you,...

Is there anything original left? Do the fireplaces work? Lots of flash but no charm or character left.
Hi Dianne yes the fireplaces are open and do work, the charm and character is still there in abundance with the wood panelling, staircase, high ceilings, coving, the original well restored, the Bardou cottage etc.

Council tax = Band G with 7 beds and total area about £6,000 per annum
The transitions in the video are jolting and hard to watch, very detracting

No open fireplace? No woodburner?
Hi Laura, thank you for your comment. Both of the fireplaces in the drawing room are open real fires. Each bedroom too has a fireplace - majority of which could be opened up if someone wished.

Fabulous open fires in the drawing room. Had an aga in the kitchen and everywhere else was freezing in the 70s! 😂😂. Super duper heating system and dub glazing now and all those fireplaces if wanted.
This property now has a great EPC rating as has been insulated, Heat system put in and still got the open fires should you wish too.
