And my friends didn’t believe me when I told them I grilled my red snapper on the grill with no skin. Almost an exact copy of the process i use as well. Good video.
Nice! Love it when folks say you can't grill fish over an open flame, because you can. I have a newer video with a fish rub you may like. Be sure to check that out.
@@Viewtoagrill Awesome way to kick it off and I could clearly see the future and thought they would be great in tacos! Thanks man. My wife said she wants to go pescaterian (sp?) for lent. #OdeToJoy I get to cook lots of fish and seafood.
Perfect looking fish Johnny! And great tips to not have your fish stick!!! Definitely going to remember all of these tips for when I do my fish! Thanks!!!😋👍
Fantastic! Be sure to leave it on the hot grill long enough for a crust to form between the grates and the fish.. it will release a lot easier… I have other fish videos you can watch as well.
Hi johnny, Great video! I was surprised since I’m used to cook filet fish like you shown. What is different is my way of seasoning. I put here my suggestion in case you’d like to try it. prepare the filets like you shown, drying them, then take some dry bread (I use the bread I live in paper bag for some days). Trim it using a mixer or similar, you have to create some bread crumbles. Then add some extravirgin olive oil to the bread and mix it. the bread crumbles must be like golden. Then you can add your flavors. I use fresh parsley, dry origan, a tea spoon of grated parmesan cheese (or your favorite one), if you like some garlic as well. Mix it up very well (with a mixer) and use this panure to season your filets like you’ve done in the video. Grill like you shown, inderect and then direct. Man, beleave me they will be amazing. Thanks again for your video from your italian friend! Cheers Roberto
Red snapper is probably my favorite. Never grilled snapper but I’ve been grilling the same catfish filet recipe for well over 20 years. What makes it so good is the spiced pecans that we top them with after my wife toasts them in a CIS. Lay that filet and pecans on a bed of rice and bon appetite!
I do love grilling fish. TH-cam however does not promote my grilled fish recipes. They do a good job on this one but this is not really a recipe video. I love using pecans or almonds on fish.
If you’ll take the spatula or the great cleaner, just push on the handle sticking up and rotate the fish from the cool side to the hot side no need to pick it up to move it only to flip it
@@Viewtoagrill glad you liked it. I got one more for you. I use a chimney to start my charcoal, but if it needs some air moving over it to get it hot either use battery powered air mattress, inflator or a small hair dryer.
I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
Great video!! Please stay away from canola oil canola oil is machine oil that's been refined one additional step to make it usable for cooking. Don't want it was used to lubricate tanks guns and all the war machinery after the war was over they had a big industry with canola oil and nothing to do with it so they didn't want the company's to be out of business because all their employees will be out of work and come up with a way of refining it an additional step and using it for cooking but it's very bad for you especially if you use it over a long period of years. I would only use canola oil for ordering my gun. I would never consume it. It is refined machine oil you don't believe me you can check into this. I use spray olive oil. And high quality olive oil that you get out of a bottle extra virgin for all my other cooking needs. I make homemade fried potato chips thin-sliced on a mandolin using a cast iron pan with a wire basket so I can lift all of them out and I use olive oil. I don't use one of those electric deep fat fryers with your nice but it takes too much Olive Oil. There's nothing like homemade potato chip fried in olive oil and salted with kosher salt and a little fresh cracked pepper if you like it. They taste so much better than store bought chips many times I get store-bought chips and they have a rancid oil taste. They just aren't good. I know what I got in my homemade ones and they taste really good olive oil doesn't impart an oil flavor it just tastes good because it is good and healthy too. God Bless You and Yourn, Jimmy in NC....

Hey Johnny! Great tips. 👍🏼👍🏼 I’ve never grilled fish directly like that for fear of screwing it up. After watching this, I going to give it a try😎

Fantastic way to start my day! With Lent coming up this will be very useful. Thanks!
Hello Dash. Yes sir, lent is starting up soon. This is the first video of a sea food series for lent. This fish ended up being fish tacos.

I could eat a lot of seafood but not every day I would have to break that up with at least a beef or a chicken every two or three days.

Perfect timing for the warmer weather! Are Walleye still running... lol
D! I think Walleye is a fresh water fish... I am all SaltLife!
@@Viewtoagrill Understand your point, but make an exception for walleye, it is THAT good.
Great Video & thank you. Wanted to know if this will work with fish that has the skin on it.
The skin will stick. Grill it flesh side down first then finish Flesh side up on the indirect side of the grill.
What was the seasoning? great video thanks.
You will find the recipe in this video - th-cam.com/video/SF1UJlW-n7g/w-d-xo.html

Hey Chris. Thanks, fish on the grill can be really good.
Thanks for the nice tips, great and tasty looking fish. 🤗🤗🤗
You are welcome!
Great vid! Do you keep the kettle open all the time? And if so, do you close the bottom vent completely, to avoid flare-ups?
Yes, the fish cooks so fast I rarely have to move it to the indirect side to finish.
Do you wash and reuse you're rags?
yes
Good stuff young man!
Thanks!
