"I went for one puppy and came home with two" is one of the shortest sentences to identify a breeder you shouldn't do business with. Great quality video y'all.
We picked up and English setter female from a lady who had a litter. Molly was 11 weeks old and we had her for 5 months. Then found out her sister was going to be sent to the shelter because the same lady couldn’t handle two puppies with her two young kids and a newborn baby, (can’t blame her) she had tried to rehome Bambi but no one was coming through to adopt her. So we took Bambi in to help her and after two month we couldn’t find a home for her, she is now with us forever. I have raised setters before but one at a time and so this two puppies at once has been a challenge. I was worried at first about the litter mate syndrome but I am not sure if this applies to dogs that were apart for months. They have seemed to get into their own groove and are quickly learning their own names and how to deal with having each other around. We do some training separately and some together. Things like sitting together in the car and waiting patiently while the other gets out first. Heel training individually, while the other is in the same room and then together side by side has been very helpful in helping them understand how to be ok with each other and a person. I am just an average person living and working with two family dogs your video have been awesome to watch and I appreciate the sacrifice you are embarking on I don’t think any other trainer/breeder has put a series out like this and I will be watching all the way through. I don’t usually comment on videos but this has resonated with me.
Hey I know can’t have litter mates, but, what happens if you want a big pack and be a good dog trainer for lions and bears, will it work or no not really, would I have to work them by themselves or what
@@StandingStoneKennels we are in Australia but import and breed Black Mouth Curs from Texas. Keeping two pups is a recipe for disaster, personally I like about a six month gap between pups. If I can get a young dog to 12 months old and get it working ok with most of the lumps evened out then that 12 month old becomes a working buddy for the six month old one.
My female Heeler had a accidental litter. We still have 5. 4 Females and 1 male. They have a dominant one, oddly enough it's the Runt, a female. She's a scrapper. I agree that people shouldn't do it.
@@StandingStoneKennels Absolutely!!! She initially had 11 but we lost 2. We had 9 healthy puppies. Two Females and 1 Male found their forever Homes. The 2 females are going to be Service Animals. One to a Disabled Vet and the other to be a partner to a Non Hearing. Female Catahoulla

Thanks for watching! We would still recommend working and training them separately!
Yep. One pup equals one brain. Two pups equals half a brain.
Haha!
