- This is the final video on the Crash damaged 2014 Freelander 2 2.2 SD4. We complete the full service by finishing off with an oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, & pollen filter. In the previous video, we also completed the timing belt & water pump. This Freelander is good to go & ready for its new owners. So that's why I love fixing cars myself & saving an absolute fortune. good video shows you the basics of doing an oil change, the oil filter is a 10min job with the right tool, also remember undo the filter but never ever remove it straight away, let it hang a little about 3mins, the oil will then flow out of the sump, and not down your arm etc, change the O-ring every time, and do oil changes about 6,000 mile intervals, so at least twice a year.

Got a TD4 Freelander 2 filter is the same it's not too bad of a job, your right in saying some garages overlook it. 27mm flexible head ratchet spanner will be your best friend removing the filter cover on these cars 👍 merry Christmas 🌲 from Kernow

Freelander 2 oil filters are up there on the list as a real pain in the backside along with Mondeo and insignia diesels to name a few. Believe me when i say Garages that didnt change the oil filter wouldnt have a customer base for long . Modern paper elements are something that wont filter the oil for too long if you dont change them when servicing . As in all walks of life there are bound to be a few who may skip it lol

Well done mate. Did you manage to reset the service light? Can be a bugger on Land Rovers. Also did you manage to log the service on the digital service book online, or does this have a paper book I suspect it’s on the changeover year.
Well done for doing the fuel and pollen filters also, it’s amazing as a garage owner how many people say they’ve had a ‘full service’ every year elsewhere and when you actually check the cars had an oil and air filter change.
Now the high pressure fuel pumps shit itself as it’s had to work too hard, the blower motors in a similar place and all the brake calipers are seizing up because the fluid that absorbs water and creates rust hasn’t been changed 🤦♂️. They were cheap though 😂

I don't go nuts on cars that I'm selling so I get the complete sets from eBay including oil. If I was keeping it then I would go to my local motorfactors it all depends on your budget. 👍
