2000 Seahawks played up to the level of competition at home- this Raider game, only team to beat the NFC West champion Saints on the road (7-1), barely lost to the Broncos and Rams.

Straight up robbery. I've never seen that momentum play called a safety before or since.

exactly. And the same thing happened to this Raider team the next year with the Tuck rule game vs. the Patriots. Two years in a row two plays never seen before or since happened in Raider games where there was no clear rule on the play so the referees had to make up a rule on the spot and both times went against the Raiders. Pretty much proof that the league was against AL Davis and the Raiders.

Hellova play by Woodson coming from the opposite side of the field for the chase down and subsequent turnover. Another classic Raider rule change followed this debacle. Basically the rule at that time was the player that recovers the ball prior to going in the endzone has to get up and get out of the endzone. The rule was changed the following year.

and just amazing that the next year almost the same thing happened with the tuck rule also involving Woodson. Both plays had bizarre explanations in the rule book that the refs had to try to follow causing them in both cases having to essentially make up a ruling on the spot that both went against the Raiders and that were both wrong calls by the refs. Both games were on the road so maybe that had something to do with the calls both going against the Raiders. The tuck game play was clearly a fumble and this game as Ditka said at the end, possession of the ball wasn't complete until he was in the end zone and should have been a touchback, Raider ball on the 20.

@@johnmongani5223 As a team, the Raiders have been responsible for more rule changes than any other team. This goes back to the "Heidi Game" in the 60's when the network broke away with 2 minutes left to show a Shirley Temple movie(Heidi) and the Raiders scored something like 17 points to win the game. After that, networks were no longer allowed to break from games unless the lead was deemed insurmountable, then they can switch to another game that's more competitive but not regular programming. Then you had the "Immaculate reception" which at the time a pass couldn't hit two consecutive offensive players and be a completion, they changed that rule the following season. Then you had the "Holy Roller" when the Raiders scored on the last play, they changed that rule so that the only player that can advance a fumble inside the 10 has to be the player that fumbled. The Raiders have a history of rule issues with the league.

yep whenever there was a controversial play involving the Raiders the refs always go against them and then the rule gets changed the next year.@@michaelallen8112
