    I've watched hundreds of hours of tutorials for this dumb game and this is the first truly cohesive explanation of why and when to use air roll that makes sense to me. So many others just say "make adjustments." It's not often I get excited to open up a training pack... well done.

      I've the same feeling - I'm sure I've watched 99% of the DAR videos out there and Griff's last video has been my guide recently. This one definitely clears things up for me and gives me very specific, very tangible things to think about as I practice. The only negative thing I have to say is that I'm traveling this week so I won't be able to put this into practice until I'm home next week. 🙂
      I'm super excited about the training pack - Looking forward to getting comfortable with it and then tackling part 2!!

    I really like the foundation style of learning and building up the skills here. I would really like to see this or a similar training pack like the Musty Speedflip Kickoff Test, which constrains the effectiveness of the most efficient path to the ball to create a true test I can take that gives very direct feedback. Not sure how that would be created for these types of scenarios, but something I've always wanted.

    Best air roll tutorial I've seen by far. Advanced players (the teachers/video makers) often forget when teaching a new technique how it felt to learn with zero experience and knowledge. The way you break down the training and pack starting as simple as possible is extremely useful. Progression of skill application and difficulty is absolutely key. Hopping in and jumping straight into a wall-to-air dribble pack is overwhelming and super inefficient to practice. Thanks for the tips!

    Update. After training up to 48% for a couple hours
    Making sure I score consistently for every shot to move on.
    I can confidently say it all makes sense now. I feel so enlightened. I was able to figure out shots you didn't go over because the ones you did went a long way. I was pulling out car control I didn't know I had or could achieve.
    Thank you man. Can't wait for part 2 for further training and knowledge!

    In the follow up you need to mention how important facing the ball is (both on ground and off the wall) before pushing through for air dribbles/hits. I think a lot of diamond and even champs dont do this well and when you get to the higher level that second or 2 is long enough to get beat in the air. This is something small but it makes a big difference and is essential for reaching GC and up. As always great vid. Look forward to more content.

    • @diego090bw
      @diego090bw ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Definetly yes.. Im basically GC1 Id say.. (hard to say after this seasons weird reset and those crazy mixed Champ Lobbys.) But yeah especially against good and faster players you notice instantly how much of a difference a perfect, decent or bad first touch does.. and by bad I dont mean losing control just having it to far away from you.

    • @Fives179
      @Fives179 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Except it's really not. That is to say that it doesn't give a good answer on how to learn DAR. He basically says he was wrong in his last video and the way he taught people to learn it, which is by using a single joystick input to learn to turn the car is way too limited, which is correct. Then he gives no alternative learning method for DAR.
      The map he created is NOT going to help you learn DAR. Most of the stuff he showed in the first few shots especially can be done just as well with regular air roll, but that's not even the point. He told you to 'practice' your DAR on these shots, especially the later ones. But how are you supposed to practice actually hitting/carrying a ball or even HITTING A DOUBLE TAP when you can't even keep the car up when using DAR because you just started learning it? This is a good map if you already can control your car quite well and turn any way you want. The bullshit he says about not practicing in ring maps is not true at all. You're never gonna learn how to control the car when you don't even isolate the learning DAR part, you have to be focused on not only just moving your car in a direction you want, but also carrying/hitting the ball at the same time. This will absolutely stagger your progress at learning car control using DAR. First actually learn to control the car using DAR, then start practicing shots like these.

    Can anyone answer this question please? I use air roll left and after hundreds of videos y still don’t have the answer. The question is when you air roll and you want to go left, I know that you have to move the joystick bottom left and if you want to go right you go top right. My question is if your cat is mid air roll and you can see the back of your car (the wheels) do you invert the movements. Meaning that to go right instead of top right you go bottom right I just wanted to know if this is true. My other question is imagine you are facing completely upwards and the ball is below you (while air rolling) how do you IMMEDiately start going downwards with full force. I usually use the reverse tornado spin but like it does not face down completely it does not make your car look and go towards the floor directly so how would you do this?? IF SOMEBODY ANSWERS I LOVE YOU thanks.

    This is a great tutorial. When I first played this game in 2016, I initially disliked the way that advanced players seemingly freestyled their shots using air rolls, but I realized that they just had numerous hours of practice. So I focused more on the practical aspects: What is the best and efficient way to score this shot? And if it involved air rolls, then I made sure to utilize them well in a game sense. The downside of this is what will most commonly be seen or played in a match, it may not be enough for unconventional situations where I have to control my car in a certain way in the air to score a very specific shot. I know what needs to happen to score a goal, but my mechanics aren't up to par with my game sense-- which is why practicing mechanics is really important even if it's boring!. I don't play that much any more, but I always respect and admire the skill that these players have nowadays for the amount of hours they put in.
    Thanks for the video! It really made me think of the times I poured my time into this game practicing the mechanics that interested me and remembering that feeling of finally pulling them off in a live match.

    PLEASE HELP ME
    For years and years I have been trying to learn how to air roll but the thing is I just don’t understand the explanations, they just don’t click. So I have a couple of questions I need to get answered. The first one is imagine I want to move to the right while air rolling, do I only hold my left stick to the right when the car is facing forward or do I also hold the stick to the opposite side (left) when the car is facing backwards??? Another question I have is how do you people move so quickly from like one side to the other when air rolling it’s like you see a ball is far to the left and you just air roll and you reach the ball as quickly as if you weren’t. I feel like when I air roll I take a long time to get to the ball if it is in the air and on the left or right. This might be because I only move my stick when the car is facing forward (to the opposite net) I don’t know if I should move the stick around at all times if I want to move left. If I do have to move the stick around at all times where should I move the stick to when the car is facing at the opposite net and when the car is facing If I want to move left??? Thank you for your time.

    • @thrilite3981

      They’re able to get to a ball fast by doing a jump boost (Pressing X again but with no directional input with the thumbstick while boosting) and also pointing the nose of the car to the ball.
      And moving right depends on which directional air roll you use, and whether or not your car is inverted or not, for air roll right I believe it’s holding down left or down right on your car while it’s in a neutral position and not inverted in the air while also holding boost until your car is inverted, to which then you let go of the thumbstick but still hold down directional air roll while feathering the boost now

    Thing with air roll is that you cant learn it from watching videos. You can get an ''idea'' but so far I've seen no one explain it right. I fully understand air roll and not even I can explain how it works. All I can say is that one day it clicked and I saw my car in a whole other dimensional way.
    One hint I would like to tell people is to not only practice rings. Only use rings to get the idea right, use bakkesmod to slow your car down so your brain can actually comprehend what's going on and what changes on whatever input youre doing. Once you get the idea start doing training packs because guess what... knowing how to air roll in rings, you'll see how it doesnt work the same way going for balls using air roll.

    This is probabaly one of the best videos I've seen explaining the use of the air roll,it's nice demonstrating and explaining exactly how to do the adjustments rather than just trhing to figure it out yourself.
    I am not a really fan of training pack like these due to the idea of trial and error from the simple fact I dont know how to but the simple yet effective explanation makes me want to try it

When I used the training pack code for DAR training the ball shots are different and they immediately start falling so I can't follow your recommendations for the different progression of shots since the ball drops immediately when I start. Am I missing something to allow me to follow your drills from the start and progressively work on DAR like you demonstrate with each of the shots?

    The game is fixed with inline algorithms, the main source of this fix is based on the algorithms which determine your playability whilst online, using the conventions of CSTS (Continuous Sim Time Scaling) and STS (Sim Time Scaling) which determine, and predict key presses within the game. They say this is to control the network latency but in fact, the control of key inputs and registry of these inputs are solely in the discretion of the server and its algorithm. This why only a small percentage of players ever reach SSL and majority of players hang between the Plat, Diamond ranges. The game has been specifically designs to only allow a certain percentage of players to become SSL, Grand Champion, etc keep the majority within the middle tiers for extra income and Hugh revenue profits. Now, nobody would play the game, if all players reach SSL, this is their strategy and this why, you lose games and your rank changes dramatically, unless you're a select few within the Top Tier, of GC3 or SSL.

    I think I commented on your original video saying something like "this finally made it click for me". Using 1 directional input worked for getting through a lot of the rings map, but I can't get to the ball at all. It feels like I'm almost starting again training myself to use DAR with more than 1 directional input, and the only way I've found to train it so far was to just try incorporating into training packs with aerial shots. I'll be waiting eagerly for part 2!

    So.. rings is the entry point. I can see it with your car through rings. You should use air roll only to correct. You should try to be close to wr times on rings or pr times. The goal is always speed. If you can’t keep supersonic and air roll the whole time you are not being efficient and you are tapering the effect rings training has on your gameplay. You need to move to boost management and car control beat your times on rings then move to Dacia spring. Move from dribble 2 overhaul to eversac’s. Master those and gg you are ssl I also recommend air dribble gauntlet for those wanting to push it.

    as an ssl with over 9000 hours on the game, i can confidently say that you are coming on these videos with an unjustified attitude of expertise and trying to teach others how to do something that you yourself are not even close to mastering. many things you say are true, but an equal number are untrue, which are which seems to just be randomly selected by your intuition which has not fully developed due to lack of the experience neccessary. I hope you keep making cool videos but i also hope you take a more humble and simple aproach to what you teach people to do, and not to keep making assumptions and extrapolations because while they may seem logical to you, they are flawed because of reasons you do not yet know

      Well, I try and vet my information with higher skilled/ranked players as much as possible. I do my research, (as much as I possibly can), but that doesn't mean I get everything perfect. Regardless, I try and be as humble as possible when I'm unsure of something and if I'm sure of something, I'm much more confident in relaying that information.
      I say all that to ask, if there is something I'm getting wrong, would you be interested on elaborating? Perhaps having a call to discuss points of contention? If I'm wrong, I want to know I'm wrong and why. So please, if you're willing, I'd like to chat with you about it.
