I have seen comparison videos, and the iPhone 15 wins every time on the camera, but that is about it. Marques Brownlee does a nice "blind" camera test in which the OnePlus 11 beats the iPhone 15 in normal photos, but not the night vision or portrait modes. I personally doubt the difference is significant enough to matter, but the specs on the OP12 are incredibly impressive. Especially considering the price.
Thanks for covering the PWM. I tried switching from my XR to a 15 Pro but the PWM was awful so sadly I might jump on this phone and do my eyes a favour.
@@mayukhbanerjea1732 Sure did. I can confirm even with the high PWM frequency and anti flicker settings the OnePlus 12 is a no go for me. Funny enough I just sent it back today. I couldn't use it for more than 5 mins without my eyes hurting and feeling sick. I ended up buying the OnePlus Nord N30 5G because it has an LCD display so far so good.
@@mayukhbanerjea1732 I did. Don't bother it is no different from my iPhone PWM symptoms kicked in within 5 mins. That said I can recommend the OnePlus Nord N30 5G. It might not have as high specs as the OnePlus 12 but it does have an LCD display which means no PWM flicker. I swapped out the OnePlus 12 for it and I am happy I did.

@@garethalston I just found out that the phone will be officially released on the 23rd of January so maybe that’s when the embargo is lifted but it makes no sense cause the Chinese version came out in December and there are reviews on TH-cam about it already and it didn’t go too well cause it has a lot of bugs that needs ironing out and on another note they are probably concerned about the Galaxy S24 ultra that’a launching on the 17th of January which is what everyone is looking for in the android market anyway

The camera is a lot like the OnePlus Open. I also like the packaging which is well designed. At 1:49 pretty unusual to see a USB Type A used for the charging brick in a new phone compared to today’s phone which uses USBC cables. Nice review on the OnePlus 12!
That's how it's done, plus a charger in the box, unlike Apple phones over $1000 that don't have a charger. And even worse, the 16 line of non-pro models won't even have a 120 Hz screen, and it's priced like a Pro.
I was always having an Oneplus device next to my iPhone but since last year I moved to the Oppo X6 Pro mostly because I was tired to wait for a good OnePlus camera system. I'm glad they finally made a step up on it.

However, I did used to use iPhones and to be perfectly honest I hate the accessibility functions. Recently, I was attempting to use voice over on my girlfriend's iPhone 14 pro Max and things really had not improve that much. It had been years since I tried an iPhone and I'm a little shocked that they have an improved things. After I purchased my first iPhone I was very disappointed in the accessibility. I made at least a dozen calls and finally got hold of an engineer at Apple and he gave me the straight up scoop. He explained to me that they will provide accessibility functions because that's the law. However, people in my position are really in the minority so, improving their functions is not a priority. As a result, I pretty much swore off Apple products.

I know you're asking him but, it is not ip68 officially. They gave it an IP 65 rating because that's a cheaper certification. However, all OnePlus flagship devices are built to the equivalent of an ip68 rating. The reason one plus does not offer the certification is that it drives up the cost of the device by nearly $200. In other words, it's there but, they don't pay for the certification.

OnePlus would not allow us to turn it on in a video until a later date. Some phone makers have done this before. It's silly and makes no sense, but if you want to show it early you have to agree to it.
It probably will be comparable or slightly higher than the OnePlus 11. My 11 is the top model and it cost $800 new. I expect they'll keep the 12 around that price tag. They need to undercut the Samsung s24 plus which will be selling for around $1,000. Of course, the entry level 12 will probably cost around $700. Frankly, $800 for my 11 was a steal.
Funnily enough OnePlus was the reason I switched to iphone my 8t had too many software bugs with OxygenOS 13 and the long delays between updates that didn't even fix anything didn't make the experience better not to mention the issue with green lines on the screens after updating that some user's reported didn't make me wanna buy another OnePlus product honestly OnePlus used to be good before OxygenOS turned Into another reskin of miui/colourOs I would recommend a Samsung or iphone for most people

Unfortunately, the models they released in India use a completely different display than the rest of the world. I have absolutely no idea why. Once more, oxygen OS 13 runs perfectly and I've had very few bugs and the updates have always happened on time.

Indeed, my GF is a dedicated iPhone and Apple user but, she has absolutely fallen in love with my OnePlus 11. In fact, when we attend ice hockey games she often borrows my phone to utilize the hasselblad color science. It does a far better job of filtering out the bright light that reflects from the ice surface then her iPhone 14 pro max. Considering the fact that iPhones have amazing cameras that is saying a lot.
Few months ago I had to buy a new phone and went with OP11 instead of Pixel 7 pro. After two months I had small annoying bugs on OP so I sold it and buy Pixel 7 pro after. While I enjoy more in Pixel experience but OP11 was built rock solid plus ther fast charging was something else. On Pixel 7 pro charging is slow sometimes it makes me mad. Other thing I really ejoyed in OP11 was hasselblad mode.
Why do you show us a phone you can’t power on? Why not wait till such a time when you can power on the phone? What sense does it make? Phones are not pieces of furniture, without powering on the phone it’s useless making a video about it.

It’s actually a speck of dust on the sensor. Since it was an unboxing done in real time, there wasn’t a way I could go back and re-record it being authentic. So I just let it slide first time that’s ever happened in 15 years to me.

I recently bought the Samsung S24 Ultra and regret it big time... Finding out firstly that the AI features will be chargeable at the end of 2025 and hiding this fact in their small print is shady AF... At least apple were upfront about their text to satellite service maybe being chargeable after 2 years... Secondly the camera's on the S24 ultra are not what they should be... I have never had a One Plus before so was wondering what this one is like?
When I heard curved glass 🙄🙄. Not buying, too tricky to find tempered glass screen protectors, what's with curved edges even Samsung has now stopped it with the S24.

While I enjoy more in Pixel experience but OP11 was built rock solid plus ther fast charging was something else. On Pixel 7 pro charging is slow sometimes it makes me mad. Other thing I really ejoyed in OP11 was hasselblad mode.
My wife has a Pixel 7 Pro and my OnePlus 8 pro still charges faster than her Pixel. Kind of odd.

Why do you show us a phone you can’t power on? Why not wait till such a time when you can power on the phone?
What sense does it make? Phones are not pieces of furniture, without powering on the phone it’s useless making a video about it.
Unfortunately in order to get views on TH-cam you have to be somewhat first sometimes. Since I could talk about specs and everything else I figured I would show it. If they wouldn't allow me to talk about specs I would not have made the video

There is a visible small spot in your camera lens!
It’s actually a speck of dust on the sensor. Since it was an unboxing done in real time, there wasn’t a way I could go back and re-record it being authentic. So I just let it slide first time that’s ever happened in 15 years to me.

I recently bought the Samsung S24 Ultra and regret it big time... Finding out firstly that the AI features will be chargeable at the end of 2025 and hiding this fact in their small print is shady AF... At least apple were upfront about their text to satellite service maybe being chargeable after 2 years... Secondly the camera's on the S24 ultra are not what they should be... I have never had a One Plus before so was wondering what this one is like?

When I heard curved glass 🙄🙄. Not buying, too tricky to find tempered glass screen protectors, what's with curved edges even Samsung has now stopped it with the S24.
