Making the decision to come back, put their differences behind them, and make the best music of their lives was the best decision the Crowes have ever made. They are, in my mind, THE greatest band of my lifetime. -mM

Yeah..I miss the HELL out of Ed...His fills and the way he could bring warmth and brilliance to every song...
Listen VERY closely to the Amorica version of Non Fiction..You will hear Ed in the background making music that can bring a tear to your eye...

Ed really completed the band's sound to be honest. People usually give Marc all the credit for their sound post SYMM, but man Ed really was the glue that brought it all together especially on SHMC, and Amorica, but really 3 Snakes too. He played the shit out of every key during the Page/ Crowes tour and filled those JPJ parts to a tee. But hell yeah Nonfiction, their mixing was always very guitar centered 1st off but Ed's level's were just as pronounced as Chris and Steve bc Rich had so much respect for his musicianship. And his parts on that song were brilliant, the obvious Descending which was Amorica's Thorn part were Ed was showcased. I met him once after a show it was so fucking cool. Ed, Steve, and Sven were the only guys to come out and get on the bus in front of people, while Rich and Chris vanished into underground tunnels that brought them to their individual buses which was so fucked up. But all three came over and hung out for a few minutes and we got pictures with them and talked to Steve and Sven but after like 4/5 minutes they bailed but Ed stayed and just talked to people, it was a small show in Syracuse but he was soooooo f ing cool and I'll never forget shaking his hand, and if this sounds weird I'm sorry but it was all I could think about bc he had the softest hands I have ever felt male or female. It was so weird I just couldnt believe it they were like softer than silk or velvet haha. But I just rambled like a highschool girl im sorry but I miss him and the band I saw them well over 20 times since 95 I was 13 and saw the Amorica tour in NYC it was the 2nd concert I ever went too. Nonfiction was amazing btw.

That lineup was very fulfilling to us fans as well. It's too bad it had to end. Hopefully it can happen again and replace this current incarnation.

I always wondered why Johnny Colt wasn’t asked back, to me he is part of the classic line up, and seems to have kept his head screwed on over the years.

As nice as it would be to have both Ed and Marc back, If I could choose, I'd pick Ed. Just something about the way he plays mixes really well with Rich.
