This guy has the kind of facial hair that he shaves at 8am and then has to shave again at 9:30am. FINALLY, someone with real facial hair reviewing razors. Biggest pet peeve is all these reviewers who have little to no facial hair reviewing the efficiency of a razor. Or they don’t even let their facial hair grow and they’re reviewing a new razor. You my friend, did what we all wanted to see. Real beard = real reviews
I totally agree. There are so many TH-cam shavers out there that look BBS before they start to shave. They are just fooling themselves and their audience. You don't get any feedback from the razor or the blade with some of them.
I surely agree, although I can understand some people really like shaving and want to remove the sparse hair they do have, because BBS is BBS no matter how little or much hair you have. But I don’t really take in consideration their opinions on razors, I find I usually am quite disappointed. I think with little hair they can get away with a lot of razors and blades for that matter. The details matter less with an easier task.
I know right, i also have absurdly resistive fast growing thick Mediterranean hair and most of the reviews out there are useless for me as its just reviewers shaving skin.
I have the game changer.84 straight bar and open comb. The aluminum lupo on a titanium handle. The game changer is more efficient on long growth or thick head hair while being not too aggressive. The lupo is extremely gentle and efficient on shorter stubble and decent at heavy growth. The lupo is very mild and no razor rash if used daily. My neck area is sensitive to razor burn (why I switched from the modern 17 blade razor to a double edge. Lupo is as mild as the feather asd2 and more efficient for 1/5 the price. Both are great razors and quality built, depends on skin sensitivity and frequency of use. Both are far better than the feather for price. The Parker semislant is really close, a compromise between the two, very efficient and able to handle thick growth. Semislant can usually finish in one pass if needed. I wouldn’t give up either of the three. I would give up the feather, it’s great but not 5 times the price great. Great review. I think every face (or head) will be different in which works best.
I have only recently realized that my hair grows away from my Adam’s apple on my neck. I have been working on mastering the application of that new knowledge all week 😂 really enjoyed the battle!
Have you ever used the Merkur slant bar? I love mine I have a fast growing coarse beard such as yourself. I have the lupo 72 i was blown away how smooth and efficient it is. I like my slant bar a little bit better, but not by much.
Really cool comparison video! My B3 also feels in the middle of soft and scrubby but I really like that feel. Lupo is a winner but game changer is great too. That’s why we buy em all 😂 I’ll use the 72 next.
Hey how’s it going! Despite my findings I found the game changer to dial in shaving angle more easily . I had no issues with efficiency on the .84 game changer so I ended up keeping this one and selling the Lupo to a friend
Great comparison! I have the GC.84 SB and just can't get 100% efficiency due to the hair growth near the adam apple. Hmmm....wonder if the Lupo can be the One...?? Doubt it... Enjoyed watching....especially that big brush!
Yeah Adam’s apple is the trickiest part for me to reach BBS as well! The Lupo took me a few shaves to start liking it but it’s getting there. Try mapping your beard and experimenting with skin stretching to get there . Yeah I love big brushes haha thanks for watching
Great shave John, trying to decide between the Lupo 72 and BBS SS. As you've tried both, do you feel they are about the same for efficiency and post shave comfort, or is one a winner over the other in your view? Cheers
That's weird so far I find the .84 game changer more efficient in 2 passes without going atg above the jawline I'm near bbs. Maybe my angle of attack with the Lupo.72 is not correct. I've only had the razor for a week 🤔
Hey John, cool comparison. I know you do relatively new razor comparisons. But I know you like efficient razors. So I was wondering if you could do a ikon Tech vs. a 2011 R41 comparison. The two most efficient razors. Thanks
I think both of those are a little bit harder to find if I’m not mistaken . I’ve heard the older R41 is extremely aggressive but I’ll see if I can land one of them at least
I think you would be happy with the DC that open comb .72 seems more efficient compared to the .95 for me. For sure less chattery and you can always jump back on the .72 safety bar if you want more mild shaves. My GC .84 is just one of those razors you know... Sits in the shave drawer, I like the OC’s Razorock offers much more control imo. Cheers🤙
Honestly the DC is a really cool and useful concept but I personally like to use both sides of the razor before rinsing. So out of pure habit I’d be wanting to use both gaps on each pass. So I’m just going to wait for the .95 SB! The OC .68 wasn’t too bad for but I noticed it had a lot more blade feel than the .84 SB for sure! Have a good rest of your weekend

His 3rd pass becomes his 1st.
He’s a total beast. Shaves like an animal. Grows hair like one too.

John, Great shave with two beautiful razors.
Thanks a lot Ernie! The design is A1
Nice Video comparing the two razors, am sure this will help a lot of people, I know what I want now :) Thank you !
Glad I could help! Sometimes I never know how helpful it will be going into these comparisons
Very nice John. I think the Lupo is my all time favorite razorock razor but the GC isn't far behind really.
Thanks Chris! Yeah I wanted to make it clear that GC isn’t any less good now . But there’s a RazoRock razor I’m starting to like more!
Nice comparison shave John! Looks like both are great shavers eh! Have a fantastic weekend 🤘
Thanks Justin! I don’t think that can be denied! Have a great Sunday brother
@@johnshaves1996 you’re welcome! And yep, looks like that to me too! Thanks man, so far so good!
You should buy both Justin. Why not? Eh?
@@peterkaufmann8579 thought about it.. but more interested in shavettes at the moment
@@JMac. ya, I'm looking into the Focus Slim alum right now. You and Matti are doing great shavette vids right now that's inspiring!

Great review John, Thanks. I have the Lupo .72 & .95 plates on the way to me in Ireland, due on Monday.
Nice! Would love to hear your thoughts on them once you get them dialed in
Good video. I recently picked up a Lupo 72 also. I’m also very surprised by the feel and efficiency of the razor.
Yeah it’s a great balance of blade feel and efficiency imo. Thanks for watching!
I have only recently realized that my hair grows away from my Adam’s apple on my neck. I have been working on mastering the application of that new knowledge all week 😂 really enjoyed the battle!
Haha yeah man gotta map the beard! Thanks for watching bro

Thanks Raza! Yeah man B3 is so good especially on over a days growth! Haha curious to hear your thoughts on.72 for sure!
good comparison, most people have liked the .95 better. looking forward to a .72 to .95 battle.
Thanks Jeff! IB said it won’t come back for a few weeks so it might be a bit
.84’s are red, .72’s are blue, but .95’s will make you go woohoo! I’m so lame. Great shave buddy
Haha I dig it! I’ll have to try it ASAP for sure
Hi John. If you used these razors several more times after this video did your thoughts change? Which one do you like more?
Hey how’s it going! Despite my findings I found the game changer to dial in shaving angle more easily . I had no issues with efficiency on the .84 game changer so I ended up keeping this one and selling the Lupo to a friend
@@johnshaves1996 Great. Thanks for the answer. Take care
Anyone else still waiting for theirs to arrive?
I know us causing issues but mine has been in transit out of Chicago for 7 days with no scan update.
Lol, the same thing happened to me. That USORDA is slow as hell. I'm sure you got your razor by now though.
Thank you for the show!
Thank you for stopping by
Great shave John. I cannot put down my SS. 72 Lupo since I got it. Don't use my GC. 84 anymore. It's an amazing razor
Thanks Peter! I still really dig both but each time I use the Lupo I like it more and more ...

Nice comparison review. I think the Lupo is more efficient as well.
Thanks Wayne! I really thought the .84 was more efficient going into it but the side by side tells all truths haha
How would you compare the lupo .72 with the timeless .95 ? I know you dont have the timeless anymore
.95 Timeless was definitely more efficient in my experience. Maybe a tiny bit more blade feel but still it felt really smooth imo
Great shave John, trying to decide between the Lupo 72 and BBS SS. As you've tried both, do you feel they are about the same for efficiency and post shave comfort, or is one a winner over the other in your view? Cheers
Thank you! The .72 was easier to dial in the angle and was a little more efficient for me personally but many seem to love the BBS!
@@johnshaves1996 Thanks for getting back John, that sounds good, have a great weekend. Cheers
Love my GC but get better shaves out of the aluminium Lupo. Would you rather go SS Lupo or try something like the Karve?
Great review on the razors although the face lathering was tough to watch
I have a Gamechanger 68 and love it. But I'm unsure if the Lupo 72 will be any different since they're both inspired from the Wolfman WR1
Which one of these would you compare the closest to the Blackland Blackbird?
The .84 is closer to it for sure
@@johnshaves1996 have you tried the lupo .95 yet? If yes how would you compare that one?
Nice comparison brother thank you
It was a fun comparison for sure! Thanks for stopping by Sean
I ended up getting the lupo 72 after 5 years of using the merkur 34c for 5 years
Hi John, are you from Azerbaijan?
How do you compare Lupo72 with Rockwell 6S? Which Rockwell plate?
It’s been a while since I’ve used one but going off memory I’ll say Plates 2 or 3
That's weird so far I find the .84 game changer more efficient in 2 passes without going atg above the jawline I'm near bbs. Maybe my angle of attack with the Lupo.72 is not correct. I've only had the razor for a week 🤔

Thanks bro . Hope you’re having nice shaves as well 👌🏼
I don't like scalloped bar on lupo .72.
I prefer solid or straight bars myself as well
Hello Master shave John you are big Dude specialist in razors I think so. Take care please. Thank you for your support
Thanks big dude! Have a good one stay safe
@@johnshaves1996 Don't forget next try it Barbus. You will be happy Barbus trust me.
Nice shave 😎
Thank you!
A piece of advice! Dont rub your face like that! Right after a shave! Youre just going to irritate your skin! Which will lead to ingrown hairs!
They both seem like great shavers. Maybe Lupo .72 is the more of everyday option.
Tbh I could probably use either comfortably as an everyday option but I’d probably prefer the Lupo yeah! Have a good weekend Tim
