      @@theegyptian1842 it's what happens when you have government by press release. The UK already spent £270 million -- for nothing. Simply to generate headlines by doing something so crazy it gets attention from even the most casual voter, because then you get to claim credit for nothing (other than the money you waste). In the end, with the media we have today, claiming credit for your own side and discrediting the other side is more important than doing the right thing.

    The Rwanda deal was never proven not to work , labour made sure of that . Why were migrants waiting in France till it was scrapped , so it was a deterrent ?

  • @nigeljohnson9820
    @nigeljohnson9820 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    In other words Labour really does not have a plan.
    It is unlikely that there will be much in the way of cross border cooperation, as it's not in the interests of the french or the EU to stop migrants coming to the UK. Effectively the UK becomes the EU's Rwanda. Somewhere to which they can export at least part of their migrant problem. At best the EU will set a requirement for the number of migrants the UK must take before they will co-operate in policing the criminal gangs. After all, the gangs are providing a service by exporting their migrant problem.
    The idea that processing more migrant applications, faster, will reduce the problem is just as fanciful, as there is no mechanism for removing those who fail. It's only virtue, is that it reduces the growing migrant applicants accommodation bill. All this proposal will do is open the door to everyone entering the country, both legally and illegally. Effectively all will gain default approval to remain.
    There must be a clear distinction made between refugees and economic migrants. The refugees are fewer in number, need help, and might return to their country of origin, given time.
    The UK government must be able to select which economic migrants are allowed to enter the UK based on the needs of the UK economy and the ability of the country to accommodate them.
    A successful migrant policy can only work if it is not dependent on the actions of other sovereign states who are only interested in their own vested interests. The UK migration policy must therefore work within the UK border, as this is the only area that the UK government has any control over. It must therefore work by controlling the pull factor, i.e. that which encourages migrants to come to the UK.
    The conservative deportation plan might have worked, if it were not so expensive to implement. It was based on a costly deterrent, to discourage economic migrants coming to the UK.
    The cheapest part of the Rwanda plan, was to deny UK citizenship from anyone arriving illegally, this should be extended to all those whose applicants for residence who are denied.
    To reduce the pull factor, a failed asylum seeker, must be denied free access to all UK services and citizen privileges, such as accommodation, health, banking, permission to work etc.
    Economic migrants who are accepted into the UK, must be fully self-supporting from the day they arrive in the UK. They must have prearranged employment, accommodation, and health insurance. This is not unreasonable, given the huge amounts that the people smugglers are charging. A concession to the Labour government plan is that an application to enter the UK must be made for outside the UK, at UK embassies or migration centres set-up for purpose. This does not seem unreasonable, given that migrants are travelling from a safe country, and many already arranged travel to the UK by contacting the people smugglers on mobile phones. In this, the french authorities are likely to co-operate, as it is in their interests to do so.
    The UK government should arrange the deportation of failed asylum seekers to their country of origin, or one of their choice that will accept them, else the individuals will remain in the UK without access to any UK services. These measures are intended to be a deterrent, but they are necessary responses to the recognition that the UK has finite resources that are already stretched to near breaking point. This is the life boat dilemma, where allowIng everyone on board will ensure all the occupants, including the crew, of the overloaded lifeboat drowned.

      They said leave to bring back control. When in reality we have less control.

    • @nigeljohnson9820
      @nigeljohnson9820 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johnrussell3961 this is not the fault of Brexit, but the. Failure of the government to make use of it.our government has repeatedly shown itself incapable of negotiating international treaties. It's as if they can't be bothered to read the small print, usually giving away UK rights and tying us in knots. There is a certain amount of hypocrisy emerging from the EU, the Italians have their own equivalent of the Rwanda scheme. They are going to send their migrants to Albania. Other states in the EU are likely to follow suit. Maybe the right moving french will not need to, as their migrants will be sent to the UK. The UK can't even deport criminals coming to the UK for fear of infringing their human rights. Where are the human rights of their victims in the UK.
      Economic migrants not wishing to be returned to their country of origin, simply destroy their identity papers, leaving the UK without a destination for their repatriation.
      To meet our international commitments and humanitarian goals, it is vital that the UK government makes a clear distinction between refugees and economic migrants, and treats them accordingly. Economic migrants elect to come to the UK to enjoy its benefits, refugees are fleeing from their country of origin in fear for their lives and have no choice but to escape.
      Even then, all those coming to the UK will be coming from a safe country in the EU, so the urgency to move to the UK is considerably reduced.
      It is obvious that the UK cannot sustain a migrant population equal to the population of a small city each year, so selection is necessary. The UK must have the ability to select which economic migrants are allowed to remain in the UK. Economic migrants cannot be allowed to game the system by claiming to be refugees. Criminals and those arriving illegally must be refused entry and any chance of gaining citizenship. . Economic migrants must be self supporting from the day they arrive. This is consistent with arriving from a safe country in Europe or a safe country of origin.
      All must provide valid identification, or in the case of true refugees, provide a good reason for lacking valid identification. The only concession the UK needs to make, is to provide access points to apply for a visa to enter the UK, be that UK embassies of migration registration offices. Those entering the UK without a visa, should not expect accomodation, money, food, health care or job opportunities to be provided for free. This destroys the people traffickers business model. Other modes of policing cannot work as the traffickers operate outside UK jurisdiction.

      "Because 'woke' is associated with Black people, it's been a useful club for those who want to beat those seeking justice over the head with white grievance politics to win elections without deploying explicitly racist terms," said Mitchell.

    has anyone tried stopping them halfway at the actual border? one day the anger people have about this will just boil over. 300k homeless citizens and these people receive £50 a week and are put up in council houses and so on. just pay a big country that takes refugees, like uganda, our entire foreign aid budget for a year, and send them all there. also people might want to look at sweden to observe how people from different cultures behave slightly differently. ie in sweden where more than 90% of rapes are not committed by white swedes, where 48% of refugees are unemployed and 89% of prisoners for violent crime are african or middle eastern.

  • @EdwardThatch-ee7yx
    @EdwardThatch-ee7yx หลายเดือนก่อน

    Mass immigration is expected to continue in Britain due to the declining fertility rates among the native population, which are insufficient to sustain population growth. The focus on gender identity issues, including gender reassignment treatments and the recognition of multiple sexual genders by the NHS, reflects broader societal changes. This shift is evident in the prominence of LGBTQ+ flags in British cities, often more visible than the national flag.
    This demographic challenge extends beyond Britain. Japan and Germany are also experiencing population declines due to low birth rates and aging populations. Japan's population, now around 122.63 million, is projected to decrease to 75 million by the end of the century. Germany, currently with a population of approximately 83.25 million, is expected to drop to 70 million by 2100.
    To counter these trends, there needs to be a renewed emphasis on family and child-rearing. Without such changes, countries may undergo significant demographic and cultural shifts due to ongoing immigration or face a decline in population, GDP and living standards. Simples really, not rocket science.
