Interesting...I heard you touch on insurance....So your insurance company actually put you right in the path of a Category 5 hurricane...sounds about right.
The people on Carriacou have no communications at all. There is a reporter who was able to set up a Starlink so they can make contact with loved ones and the government. You can help with communications and possibly getting some supplies to some of the inhabitants.
Hi guys, just watched your interview on news and was surprised because I live on top the hill over looking the bay. So I can see your boat from my balcony. I live opposite to where your boat is anchored. I am sure it was a scary experience for you guys, I certain was scared at certain times. I experienced Hurricane Ivan here on the island 10 years ago but I was not living in this area at the time, so I know how dangerous a hurricane can be. Be safe guys!
Thank you for the live coverage. Your channel is new to me and I wish that everyone who sees this does the You Tubey thing, Like and Subscribe to let the Crews know you appreciate the Livestreem
We on the blue Jeanneau in front of you. We got off easy. 30 miles was the difference between us ( we saw a 36 knot max wind speed) and total destruction. Carricou is for all extend and purposes is gone. Too close by a factor of 10. Fredb
Watching after it’s all over…. thanks for sharing all this. Thinking of all those folk affected. Good onya guys for keeping cool and managing the problems as they occur. Better days ahead.
I did not take time to watch your whole video yet, but we have friends with a sailboat in the water in Whisper Cove, are you near that location? the name of the boat is "Knot Bad" a 50 ft cat. Hope you guys are still ok, I'll be checking your channel for updates.
Thanks for doing this. I almost went to your bay but was worried of overcrowding plus the wobble of the storm. We sailed to Trinidad with the +100 boats. We all make intense choices! Would you do this again or run from it south? The sailors that went into the groves in Tyrell probably would have rather gone south. I can not imagine 120 to140 knots in any groves. Life is a gamble, but mother nature doesn't care!! Cheers for getting lucky! Look on AIS tomorrow, you will see something unusual coming north. Just got to the transmission part. But still after seeing what happened in Tyrell, would you do it again or sail south?
Just came across your channel and loved it. Firm fan of Zatara, Sailing Sunday and Tulsa’s Endless Summer as well who are all down in the Caribbean so I hope they are ok. An Aussie in the UK.
New subscriber here. I enjoyed your livestream. It popped up on my feed because I watch other sailing channels. I've since gone back to watch some of your earliest videos. I'm enjoying your content. Also from FL here. The eye of Ian went over my house in Bonita Springs. I look forward to watching your Fort Myers Beach videos. I think I have gotten over my hurricane PTSD. Be safe and thank you.
I can really feel what you’re going through! I lived through 2 hurricanes on my Pearson 323 in Pensacola, FL many years ago. At times the anchor line looked like a thread!
Hey Cole & Emily, Been watchin since you were looking for your boat. Cole and I worked together about 2017 or so at TDC. Glad to see y’all are safe and good planning on your parts. Good luck, I understand your flying into Texas, will you be vlogging the trip back and when your off season? Jesse
Had a 54’ trawler , it had a 23’ beam, Monroe was the make we cruised for 13 years been in many storms, we had a mantis anchor with 300’ of chain it was a 85 lb never failed us , only one time we were in an area of high weeds and grass . We went thru many hurricanes , Irma was 30 miles away that was the scariest.
We are in a suburb of Houston, Texas and I saw your location and sailboat in Grenada. Since there is a chance of us feeling some of the storm . I just thought it would be a Weather enlightenment. It has been much more to me. You two are doing a great job and I have been with you for a couple of hours. may you have a great evening and uninterupted rest.
I saw your post from the other day and I'm so glad that you two are okay. I was so afraid that you wouldn't have made it through the storm God bless you both since you both made it❤
Friends of Billy and Sierra. Thanks for helping them out! We are Patrons. Suggested to Billy the bay you are in. We were on a 3 masted schooner in Grenada a few years ago
In Jesus name I am so proud of you too and your puppy as well I just came across you guys I absolutely admire you and adore you, my prayers are with you your pal here in Florida Denise
I had to laugh when she said 23 knots like that was strong winds. We sail our Valiant often in 30 knot winds and that's nothing. We rode out tropical storm Alex in Bermuda and saw 70 knot winds. Was there the same time Sailing Atticus was. So funny how you TH-cam channels have to make things seem bad to get clicks. Been Sailing more than 40 years. You two will learn that you don't currently know what you don't know. Be safe out there.
Awww guys, you are amazing. I am watching this five days on from your experience of hurricane Beryl. I’m in Devon, England. I am so pleased that you and your lovely doggie are safe and well. Good luck for the future and happy and safe sailing in the future xx
Live had already ended before I found your channel...I was searching for hurricane info and saw a news report that had your channel name on the screen.
Hi, our monohull Dufour 530 called B Emz was also on anchor in Egmont and came loose when the wind switched to the North. We were lucky and managed to reset our anchor on the 2nd attempt whilst the Oyster had to circle the bay for about 3hrs
I sure wish My wife and I were doing the same thing. We live in Ottawa and have been to Grenada a few times. My wife is awfully sick so our dream of sailing down to the Caribbean is not in the cards. I grew up in Trinidad and Guyana. My Dad was a Master Mariner and was transferred to Trinidad. Travel safe.
Thank you 🙏 for this update.I have a question…my family lives in Carriacou but I’ve lost all connection to them. Can someone tell what is going on in Carriacou please.🙏 I’ll be very grateful if someone can give me some information about Carriacou. From Germany 🇩🇪
Contact Joan Conover president of seven Seas cruising assoc. they are in touch and helping people there. They have connections and are talking to people there.
I saw a live broadcast from this morning. Carriacou looks like a war zone. Almost total devastation, but the people are happy to be alive, with only one death reported so far. The Prime Minister of Grenada flew in by helicopter. The reporter doing the live broadcast set up a Starlink so people can contact family and the government. They desperately need food and water.
Interesting...I heard you touch on insurance....So your insurance company actually put you right in the path of a Category 5 hurricane...sounds about right.
No shit... bunch of dumb asses that have never been on a boat and only look at statistics. This was a once in 50 year storm where it hit.
Carriacou is getting destroyed. Thank god You guys were on the weaker side of the beast. Carriacou will be needing help tomorrow big time ✌️calm winds
Thanks for sharing 🙏 I’m praying for you guys

Just hope others are as fortunate as you and not anywhere near the eye of this monster.xxxx

Live had already ended before I found your channel...I was searching for hurricane info and saw a news report that had your channel name on the screen.
Just saw you interviewed on Fox Weather!
To stay out in the water on a boat during an hurricane. Very brave indeed.
Stay safe. Tell us about your boat. Hi doggie. ❤️
You guys are superheros
Hi. Just saw you on tv. Glad you guys are safe
Saw you on TWC. Please stay safe
Watched from San Diego
I can see and hear you
You are better on lives - more authentic and makes great content!
That's a SAILBOAT? It looks like a huge BARGE to me! I guess its a CAT. Wouldn't own one of those not very seaworthy.
Hi, our monohull Dufour 530 called B Emz was also on anchor in Egmont and came loose when the wind switched to the North. We were lucky and managed to reset our anchor on the 2nd attempt whilst the Oyster had to circle the bay for about 3hrs

Lucily, you didn't get anything like the hurricane. Cat 5 is pretty much unsurvivable for a boat.
whats the update now that its passed?
U GOOD
I see so many sailing like you guys. How. How do you afford it. Any advice????? Please
Great video

Life jackets on? Stay safe 😅
Watching from AUSTRALIA!
Yes i can hear you.
You are moored way to close to shore. If anything happens (dragging, etc) you wouldn't have time to react.
never ride out a class 5 I have seen what can happen first hand -
this is awesome! Thanks for putting it together!
Hola. Que bueno que están bien
Gracias
maybe pick up a wind sock for the next time you find yourselves in weather.
Stay safe
Watch out for dragging boats.when it. Gets over 35knt.
If you were not there the locals would be a lot poorer, they need lots of tourists to spend their money.
This will make a great ASMR video esp being its real.
Why is doing 'circles' good?
class 5 is a different story
When it gets really windy, go fly a kite.
