I love the fact that when the comic was written they modeled the character Hughie after Simon Pegg so he could play the part if it got to TV, but he was too old now but they put him in the show anyway as the father of Hughie. Thats respect and love for an actor.

Just a bit of interesting behind the scenes info: In the original comics Simon Pegg was drawn as Hughie. The show runners really wanted the actor in as well, but he was a bit too old for the role these days, so they opted to make him Hughies father instead.

An interesting fact, Hughie is played by Jack Quaid who is the son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan. He does an excellent job in this series.

@@Jordan-Ramses I used to have the same problem of holding in anger. You need to find a healthy way to process it or it can be extremely harmful to yourself and people around you. It may sound strange but the way I process it is through running and general exercise although not every one is the same. I guess what I'm saying is find a way to release anger safely.
The reaction on that opening scene never dissapoints.
This show made everyone look at superheroes a totally different way.
Both Karl Urban and Anthony Starr (Homelander) absolutely steal the show. Great performances by both.

I was thinking that Hughie was Michael C. Hall at first, but having realized that wasn't correct, it made me doubt myself when I thought I'd identified Simon Pegg.
It's ok, Robin comes back to life on another show called Expanse, which is another thing you should watch.

For your info, the 7 is based on the justice league. So Homelander is Superman equivalent, the deep is aquaman etc. Just in a different universe, so def a lot more gritty.

May I say your reactions were great. The length of your your video is spot on. Your audio is really clear. You have wonderful attitudes (unlike others I've seen) and it is a general joy watching you two, watching this first episode. Great job all the way around.
This is such a fantastic show to react to. I can only imagine how tough it must be to edit it though. There's a ton of copyrighted music in this show and loads of parts that are important (whether it's dialogue or action). Figuring out which parts of the show + reactions are best to cut down into a 10 minute clip is difficult, but you nailed it with this first reaction. It's such a great show and they did such a terrific job with the cast they got for this.
Probably my favorite show to watch reactions to. Its shocking, yet hilarious.

Same here. The boys is probably my favorite thing from Garth ennis other than his work on punisher which I really enjoyed. The only thing I don’t like at all from ennis is preacher

Robin’s death made me get choked up. I never got emotional that fast in a show. They’re relationship had so much natural chemistry
After this show, you should react to DARK (Netflix) or Westworld (HBO) because both of them are outstanding and MINDFUCK show. Can't wait for season 3 for both of them this year :)

+Dos Cavasos I would like to suggest Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, The 100, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D., Daredevil, Handmaids Tale, and Jessica Jones.
I think you would enjoy True Blood. Though it is one of those shows that are a bit campy and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a show about vampires in the south and is fully aware what it is. True Blood could make for some dope reactions! (Yeah I know vampires🙄 am I right...BUT THIS SHOW IS SO SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT! Such a fun show BUT THE MURDER MYSTERY IS SO WORTH A WATCH! The cliff hangers and twists are great!).
Then The 100, Chilling Adventure, and Agents of Shield are all 3 pretty great shows that have lots of twists and turns and what’s going to happen next moments however some of the scenes don’t have thee greatest acting but the shows are so good that you almost forget about it 90% of the time. Chilling Adventures is such a strange and superrr fun show and The 100 is like Lost but in the future. Sabrina is a spin off of Riverdale but it couldn’t be further from it! Sabrina does have romance but it is such a small part that it takes a backseat.
We actually have seen True Blood and we LOVE IT! 🥰

One of the reasons Simon Pegg was cast as Hughies dad is that in the comics Hughie was drawn to look like Pegg. :)

Yeahh!!Boys is one of the best shows of 2019.Binged watched it!! also as a suggestion you should also watch the cinmax's warrior and netflix's castlevania series.Both are lit and short!

It matches more if you think of them more like DC Justice League heroes than Marvel Avengers. Homelander isn't Captain America, he's exactly a match of Superman, in terms of his powers. And so forth.
It is "grounded in reality." If superheroes really existed, this is how it would be.
In this world it isn't "with great power comes great responsibility." This world is ruled by "power corrupts."
To say Homelander is bad...is such an understatement.
He wouldn't help an old lady cross the street without having some nefarious purpose for doing so.

The Boys was superb. As was Chernobyl. The Mandalorian. Watchmen. Also, I know it's pre-2019 for the beginning of it, but Killing Eve is magnificent. 2019 was a superb year for TV series.
I'd also echo other commenters in saying that The Haunting of Hill House is well worth a watch (again, pre-2019, but still awesome).

Because actually The Boys is an American superhero web television series based on the COMIC BOOK of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Developed by Eric Kripke for Amazon, it follows the titular team of vigilantes as they fight back against superpowered people who abuse their abilities.

I would say good on Vaught for even offering restitution for Robin to Huey. He isn't entitled to any of it, since he doesn't have a legal connection to her. However, it is what Huey calls it, 'hush money'. And, what do you do, when everyone just wants to use you, and nobody has your interests in mind. Huey is stuck between one villanous organization, and another villanous organization. And, now he's a murderer.

It kinda irks me how noone ever sees an issue with the guy being killed at 2:20. He was a criminal, but obviously no threat to Homelander. And instead of subduing him, Homelander just tossed him into the air. Him assumimg the position of both judge and executioner and his disregard for collateral damage and human life was already evident from the first two minutes
just keep in mind that just because they get a little freaky doesn't mean they are evil, or doing bad things makes them villains. Or visa versa. They are still humans even though they have powers. All humans lie, cheat and steal in some degree, and do good and bad things.
Idk what took me so long but I just started watching Black Sails about a week ago. I don't know if if you guys like Pirates but it's an extremely realistic portrayal of the Pirates of Nassau in the early 1700s.
The show along with The Witcher were my two favorite new shows that came out last year.
+Dos Cavasos if you enjoy how The Boys takes super heros and puts them in a real world True Blood is like that with Vampires. It’s great!

I absolutely loved The Boys- especially in its dark/grim tone being reminiscent of Zack Snyder’s superhero movies [as well as its homages/allusions to those films]; the show just improves with each episode.
