That's how I felt too like it's a spiritual successor to Bendy especially in tone and idea but maybe less..uhm...Stupid than that storyline went. So far anyway. The hands mechanic is really unique too.

poppy is 100% stella, the girl in the videotape being interviewed. I know this because in the credit scene it says poppy/stella greyber. they were turning employees into toys explaining why huggy wuggy has human characteristics just like poppy. And also the note ex coworkers wrote stating they're still there meaning they're probably also toys.
Plus Stella talks about how she misses playing with her toys as a kid and roleplaying as them, she wishes she could go back, and she doesn't like how adults don't ever feel like adults, just older kids who keep aging until they die, whereas trees stay strong for decades and easily outlive people. She wants to be young and live long. Therefore she was probably the first experiment (human who wanted to become an immortal toy) and the most willing one.
So it's kinda like bendy and the ink machine.

Yeah I actually think there is a tape about it being a failed experiment with it killing in the background and it ends with the creator quite literally being killed by it
apparently huggy wuggy is a failed killing machine experiment, & it has human and intelligent reflexes such as when the protagonist "kills" huggy wuggy, you can see the pipes cover in blood and the body limping as it goes down

If huggy wuggy kills you one of the death messages is “EXP 1006 , Isn’t He Wonderful?” I think that quote is very ominous
Has no one else considered that huggy could be just a security measurement? It does say in the FIRST TAPE that they pride themselves on security, could it be that huggy is a result of that? Obviously huggy is somewhat organic, if it is just security, they could have been experimenting with humans and toys possibly made as a motion sensor designed to scare away intruders, it would give reason to why huggy attacks you, and how huggy, a stuffed animal type toy, seems to have stiff limbs, and how he can move like he can, bending down or crawling. To my knowledge no one on yt has thought about this. I don't expect it to be right but it does kind of make sense.

@@AbsoluteAbsurd im assuming its because its a common thing to look over like “why assume that when if they coukd have left theg would have already” yes maybe but why didnt they leave yet? huggy was the only one (that we saw) that was close enough to the entrance.
Theory: Poppy is Stella. in the interview, it is heavily foreshadowed from how she says she sometimes wishes she could be a kid again. the company were creating dolls which could interact with children, meaning that there’s a chance they were turning humans into toys, perhaps removing everything but their ability of speech. this explains why huggy wuggy has human characteristics (flexible movements and bleeding), and why the last VHS tape stated it was an “experiment” and a “prototype”. huggy wuggy was likely a prototype for the poppy doll, which ran wild after a failed experiment, which would also explain the missing employees.

Has nobody noticed that in the note words are misspelled? I'm pretty sure the note itself is just to lure this ex-employee in and kill them.. or something else. I'm thinking poppy herself made sometoy write the note for her to lure them in.

4:43 The blue vhs tape plays the song "everywhere at the end of time" which is a song meant to portray the progression of dimensia. I think this could imply that you used to be someone important in the factory and you've forgotten something terrible that happened the last time you were there.
I personally think that you may have been the creator of higgy wuggy or helped make poppy but something went terribly wrong and you were the only one to get away.

Personally, I do not think that Experiment 1006 is Huggy Wuggy. As stated in the tape, Huggy Wuggy was missing. However, we could hear Huggy Wuggy was attacking in the background. This is just my personal opinion, I’m not so sure about anybody else 😳
@@nightlighty9684 I was about to say that. I don’t think it’s huggy wuggy. There’s some other toy that went missing and I believe this toy, is well behaved and doesn’t cause trouble. It’s probably a Humanoid looking toy.
Maybe the poster says a bit more than “adopting children” or so. I was thinking the poster was kinda an invitation to be experimented on to bring the kids such as the orphans joy. Just a quick thought.

Theory, the people stuck in there are not employees but kids because if you think about it they have many different displays of Orphans or posters about adopting a child, to back that up you see in the beginning the letter with tape. The letter says "wer'e" and if it was employees they would definitely know how to spell whereas a child wouldn't know how to spell, not just yet.
And remember when it says that you can’t leave without a toy… I think those toys have something to with it too
@@chloehanna2064 it could be that they brought orphans into the factory for tours and then gave them a toy with a tracker to keep track of their location to experiment on them later
I’ve watched so many theory videos about this game already and each one gets better and better.
So many questions need answers:
What is poppy?
Who is poppy?
Why is poppy?
How is poppy?
Despite what others may believe, I actually think that you *are* playing as the rouge experiment. I feel like the scientist's log wouldn't make much sense if Huggy Wuggy was the experiment since it's implied that the experiment had already left at that point. Maybe they set off a butterfly effect which led to the incident?

@@mr.m5488 you know what would be cool though. It showed you received a letter in the beginner but if you are playing as an experiment it would be an awesome reveal after believing you were human the whole time. Maybe there could be secret hints hidden in plain sight
I do like this theory! One of the death messages does state: Experiment 1006. Isn’t he wonderful? It doesn’t necessarily mean that they are referring to Huggy. And just because the note said you were a former coworker, if Poppy sent the letter she could be referring to YOU as technically you would be a coworker.
"One break through and I'll be back " the guy in the tape was being hunted by huggee, but what toy did he become? I believe Stella took over the company with her obsession of wanting to live forever, she made strides in making herself an immortal doll poppy able to to speak to children, playing forever. The workers and company were so astounded by her findings that they decided to replicate the experiment using their own employees on different types of toys made in the factory. Their experiments caught the attention of scientists and since the toy company was successful they had a steady stream of money to support an underground lab for such things. The doll maybe in charge or able to connect with other toys and was sealed for her bad behavior in the box. The ex employee looking for answers unleashed poppy and Huggee was the guardian stopping intruders from unleashing the one who started it all poppy. That is just my theory on the matter.

@@chloehanna2064 Also I believe the protagnist you play is an experimental toy himself for following reasons. 1. Shorter than turnstiles 2. text mentioning you are an ex-employee 3. and does not have the strength to open doors normally without arm pack. when you jump from hi height you hear bones crack, but toys here were made with human parts. Also you cannot die permanently, you just reboot via poppys signal code.

Anyone else remember back when games used to contain entire stories upon release? First it was locking content behind a pay wall as DLC. Imagine if you had to buy a new ticket for each act of play.. Are we gonna start releasing books chapter by chapter now too?

Yeah but from a devs perspective you have more time to build a fan base and people can yknow theorize and get excited for the next chapter of the game
I mean it’s an indie game. They don’t have a mega studio to fund them, they probably need the cashflow from a first chapter to even have a chance to make the rest

That was so cool, I never thought that the Poppy you open at the end and the lady from the video was the same. Like I figured the employees got turned into toys somehow but I thought that Poppy at the end was just an evil one that lures you there to release her for some reason or another. I can't wait for more chapters and more lore explained videos 🖤

1006 is actually huggy wuggy because at times when you die to huggy wuggy a message appears on the screen saying "Experiment 1006, Isn't he nice"?
But could they also be referring to player? Since not long after they left everything went wrong.
It can also be read as (eg) "Jane, isn't he nice"

And even if it is him, he could be defined as missing at the time and the first time the guy talking has seen him since he vanished was in that moment when he started attacking and killing. @@miaa7968 We do hear Huggy Wuggy’s “voice”. If I remember correctly, the sound in the tape is quite similar to the sound of Huggy Wuggy falling, if not, the same.

@@erika.s I feel like the "Do's and Don't" poster with the pink huggy wuggy on it was sort of a hint to the player that there are more huggy dolls. Like there's no way the devs just put that there for decoration. It's definitely foreshadowing future huggies and I can't wait to see what the devs do with that in the future, as well as other enemies.
Plz make more of these when more chapters are available. I like that other content creators are covering games like this that arent just trying to be like game theory or just game theory themselves

10:22 Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Huggy survived that fall, just because it's a horror game antagonist, and we all know that those have even more plot armor than the protagonist. (except bossfights... somehow a weakness will appear out of nowhere.. let's not question game logic) But if there's more of Huggy, or more different antagonists (for example: the next one being Poppy), which would remind me of Little Nightmares honestly, then it probably died.

When u get killed by Huggy Wuggy the death message can say 'exp. 1006, Isnt he wonderful' and the same name is said by the scientist in the tape, so clearly they're clearly talking about Huggy Wuggy.
@Tete Aurora but exp 1006 can survive without any food. And Huggy Wuggy has stayed there for ten years without any food. So exp 1006 and Huggy Wuggy are probably the same person
even odds on if it's you or huggy that exp.1006, strongly leans towards it being huggy but can never be to certain with horror games. they do love to have a couple curve balls on hand to hit you square in the face.

Its gonna feel like a tribute to 50's / 60's stuff.

One thing to note is the letter in the beginning, disappeared is spelled incorrectly and we’re is also spelled incorrectly with the apostrophe being on “wer’e” and not “we’re” like normally.

Just a little fun fact to those who haven't noticed. In the VHS tapes the still images are thing in the game. In the first VHS its huggys hand in the picture.

I don’t think the huggy we kill is the same that chases us, think about it, one is 15 feet tall with a slower pace and darker blue while the other is like 5 feet fast and light blue. Also would they kill there poster child away right away
