My farm had twenty acres of hardwood bush. This was back in 1980 and I was running a couple of homesites and a partner ts. My neighbour was a logger and I asked him to show me his chainsaw. It was an 045 Super. We talked for a while and the next week I bought a 056 super. WOW. Never looked back. Bought an 026 and an 011. It all started by visiting a real logger. Thanks Harvey and your dad also for all the great stories. God Bless. Sid
Hadn't seen this video before. Got a kick out of it when you said you ran the 041 when you were a kid. Heck, I was running my dad's 041 from when I was a kid in the 90s lol. Just put a couple of them back together recently. Thought I'd give one to dad, but then an 041av fell in my lap. So I threw a carb kit on it, cleaned it up and gave that one to him. Thanks for the videos Ironhorse.

THANKS from NOR-CAL!!!!!! P.S Bike videos?
My dad has a 1963 McCullock saw with a 20-22" bar. It feels like it weights 30 lbs. Large saw for large work. My dad cut hard wood back in the 60's for a local BBQ restaurant in Eastern NC. I'd love to send it over at some point and get it running again. I love the channel and the vast amount of knowledge you possess concerning saws.
Thanks Ironhorse. I have a new Makita ea7900prz2 that I'm going to use for firewood. I like all you videos... the older people have experience the youngins don't have Gary Veldhuizen from Lynden, Wa
I have been putting together two Husky 2100's use to own several of them back in the mid 80s when I was cutting for a living...love those 100cc hogs...
You took me on a quick trip down memory lane when you fired up that Farm Boss. That was the first saw I bought new back in 1976. I really wanted a 041 AV but couldn't afford the price difference. I ran the Farm Boss into the early 80's until an ash tree barber chaired on me. I didn't get hurt but the saw never recovered. I had it fixed with used parts but it never pulled decent after that. I have an old 2071 that's been in a parts pail for years that I ran the crank bearings out of. Your channel almost inspires me to see if I can make a runner out of 'er again....

I say mild port. Just clean it up. On that ultra sonic cleaner.....use jars to put the carbs in. Put the carb parts in the jar with straight gas and cap it. Fill the cleaner with hot water and drop the jar in for as long as you want. Works good for me.
Great to see your dads saw run harvey!!, warms my heart. I agree to see you and your brother bucking some logs with your dads saw would be a special video. Have a great new year!!!
Hello, Ironhorse, I have a brand new Makita Ea7900prz2 chainsaw, I'm mainly going to use it for firewood, anyways could do a video on your recommended practices for breaking in a new saw... how many heat cycles. Things not to do... Thanks. GARY VELDHUIZEN. I have Ford chev and dodge around my barn too.

Light porting is my vote. Love the way your shop is coming together buddy. Think your great attitude matches your work. See santa gotchasime new britches 😉 nice!
Thanks for the parts man! I used the muffler too! Rest of the parts are going to be used to start another saw build! Thank you so much and keep watchin!
Hey Ironhorse, loved all the videos over the holidays. I found you through Buckin. And I belive we don’t live all that far apart. I’m up Northeast Pa. maybe when your inventory slows down I can send you something to give it a kick in the bum. Much love and I enjoy the content!
Mr.Harvey those 041s and 045s are antiques but from my understanding, is before Sthil switched to their flagship white and orange, the older saws where red. Sthil has been around since the late 1920's. I'm not sure about their very early two man saws. What colors they were. Husqvarna's first mainstream, mass produced, one man saw was red as well which debuted in Sweden/ Europe in 1949. When Husqvarna hit the states in 59- 60 they were orange. Jonsereds came out in the 1950's. Both Jonsered and Huskqvarna which is spelled differently from the company itself, are townships in Sweden. Later, I learned from Kensie that Jonsereds dropped the 's" which we now know it as Jonsered. Claude Poulan and Robert McCulloch started their companies in the late 1940's. Lime Green was generally known for Poulan. If that was their very first color, I'm not sure. Of course, yellow for McCulloch debuted their 3-25 chainsaw in 1948.
Been watching your videos thumbs up. don’t know many people with your kind of knowledge I have apro mac 700 has a made in Japan carb on it needing help with finding a carb that will fit it. Would be great full if I could talk to you about it not sure how to contact you. Thank you
J S LAWN CARE there’s so much brand loyalty in this industry it’s funny to me, I got a couple homelites that cut more firewood than any other saw I’ve had. I got a pile of saws I’ve burned and acquired. there’s mostly poulans but I’ve killed stihls husqvarna’s homelites and others. Some are good some are bad. I’ve been told stihls are well build but I’ve destroyed a couple. I’ve been told they shake apart and huskys dont. I JUST took the case out on my 345 cause the muffler bolts shook loose! These a few examples of many. My good saws are jonsered stihl homelite poulan husqvarna.
