      Thanks for the reply. What about rust problems? There is alot of steel on a Vespa and rust is enemy number one. I guess you live in california where salt and corrosion is not a big problem. For someone who lives in a colder climate a less expensive Piaggio might be a better option. More plastic on a Piaggio. But, have you ever felt the need to do any anti-rust work on your scooters?

      Hi Mitch , can I use the rain 🌧 water instead of distilled water ? Thanks 😊

    • @chetankumarr8084
      @chetankumarr8084 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ahmedfazzaa5573 I wouldn't recommend using rain water because when rain falls through our atmosphere it gathers up all the minerals and pollutants in the air which can start forming crystals inside the engine and ultimately cause issues so its always better to use pure distilled water to flush out coolant

    So cute clean Vespa :) Lovely scoot!
    All the same is with MP3 250, except that I insert tube's other end to coolant reservoir's neck, so when it pumps, I have no reason to spill it on a towel, it just returns to the reservoir.

      Is the coolant color really important or the right coolant.

    • @BorisMazyrko
      @BorisMazyrko ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gbmike1xx565 Really important is coolant type. For two reasons:
      1. Wrong coolant causes corrosion on aluminum parts
      2. Mixed different coolants could cause weird chemical reactions

    • @gbmike1xx565
      @gbmike1xx565 ปีที่แล้ว

      So going from pink to yellow is ok as long as the coolants are the same type?

    • @BorisMazyrko

      @@gbmike1xx565 Sure. More: some of them, as G12+ or ++, are compatible both with G11 and G12. But it is always better to replace it totally, so do that if you can.
      BTW the best way to get rid of all the coolant is to push compressed air into expansion tank's neck.

      @gbmike1xx565 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BorisMazyrko I did the coolant change and I used Honda coolant type 2 it's blue. The coolant that came out was blue also so far it's running great. I just got two new tires for the front perelli angel scoot tires.

    excellent. Thanks! Two comments: th original cooling fluid was red, you used a yellow one - do you mind the difference? that is, how should one care of using the same type of fluid?
    Then, I would just leave the clear hose on the bleeder, and run the engine with the bleeder open. Have you tried that? I would just expect air and fluid to come out, more quickly then tightening and loosening the bleeder several times. What do you think?
    Thanks again

And motocool expert is not suitable with water? I opened hose from other side and blowed air to system on top of filling cap to get all fluid out. No spool needed and every drop of old fluid is out.

    A better way to guarantee you get most of the old out: close up the system, then fill with distilled water, drive for a little while (a mile or two at most, running pure distilled water for a short time will NOT harm the system), let cool, then drain and fill with coolant.

    Seeing the coolant going over the exhaust is cringy. Yeah, it won't hurt anything, but it will smell of it burning briefly. (reminds me of Harley Davidson putting the oil filters high so oil drains onto the front cylinder) Vespa should have made the pump lower, OR a bleeder valve you can attach a bit of hose to so you can direct the flow into a catch jar.
